Thank you to all that have asked for an update on my friend, Claudia's, condition.
She is still in hospital in Brasilia. No date has been set as yet to medi-vac her back to the US. It's been 7 weeks since she was stricken with the aneurysm.
The following email from Claudia's husband, is the latest one I've received. (September 1)
Claudia had a very good week and seems to coming out of the woods on the life threatening stuff. She's breathing most of the day alone and only at night on the respirator. Infection seems controlled and diminishing. Her kidneys are coming back a bit but still on dialysis. Her eyes are moving a little. We all keep praying that she will have a full recovery, no matter how long.
Thanks to all that have sent positive energy & thoughts and prayers Claudia's direction.

A quick follow-up to the 2 previous blogs about my dear friend, Claudia. Her condition has been too critical to be flown to Miami and remains in the hospital in Brasilia.
I received the following email this morning from her husband:
Claudia's condition worsened severely last week, but yesterday her breathing was excellent and even the doctor was smiling. But she still is very critical with a stubborn infection that while not getting worse hasn't shown signs of improving. We hope for better news on that today. So she is still fighting for her life. The neurological condition is stable but outcomes not known as she remains on sedation.
Best thoughts and keep the positive energy flowing this way.

On Friday, July 25 a dear friend (a bit younger than I am) suffered a brain aneurysm. She had emergency surgery that day and again two days later (Sunday, July 27). A week ago she was in grave condition. She has brain damage on the left side of her brain. Yesterday her vital signs stabilized. She is currently in hospital in Brasilia and will be arriving in Miami via medflight on Sunday.
The purpose of passing along this information is to ask y'all to send positive thoughts and energy her way each day at 3 pm EDT.
Take time to hug and kiss your loved ones.

Thanks, y'all, for asking for an update. #3 is doing well -- no diagnosis as yet. Grandson #2 is, although currently confined to a wheelchair, doing better than expected. I did misspeak -- his next surgery will be in the fall, not this month.
After reading many blogs with good advice, I won't jinx myself by mentioning anything about dating. Let's just say, he's on my friends list and I am happy.
Hope y'all are happy too (as well as healthy and having fun).
Smile, dance, sing along with the music in life!
