Indian erotic temple arts and cave paintings

India is now considered as an extremely conservative country in the world though the world’s first sex treatise and the erotic art on display was created in India some hundreds of years ago.
Homosexuality is now treated in India as a criminal offense.
More recently, the Indian Government imposed ban on hundreds of websites deemed pornographic.
It was done to curb pornography and sexual violence. The ban has now been lifted conditionally!
India’s Supreme Court ruled homosexuality to be criminal offense in the year 2013.

However, India was not always like this. Before the 13th Century, sexual norms were far more liberal in India than now.
Sex was a subject taught in India formally as a part of education!
Kamasutra, the world’s first sex treatise, was written in ancient India between the 4th Century BE and the 2nd Century.

We could see the examples of the liberal times in India literally carved in stone in the form of erotic motifs on the lower walls of the 13th Century Sun Temple at Konark in the east Indian state of Orissa.

The Buddhist rock-cut monastic caves at Ajanta (2nd Century BC) as well as Ellora (5th Century to 10th Century) depict nudity prominently in the paintings and sculptures of heavenly maidens.

India's most graphic example of erotic temple arts can be found in the town of Khajuraho, M P located in the central India.
Its elegantly carved Hindu temples were declared a Unesco World Heritage site in 1986.

Amazing World Of Origami Art

You could be creative too just like a person who spends his free time by making sculptures through folding paper!

Yes, it is as simple as that. It has infinite potentiality if you have the right kind of zeal for becoming a creative paper Sculptor! You would not need much to embark on this journey if you consider that your both hands are dexterous enough and you have some basic knowledge of geometry!

I guess that you could have imagined by this time what I want to tell you! Yes, dear friend, I am trying to tell you about Origami that could keep you busy during your free time in pursuit of boundless pleasure!

What does Origami exactly mean?

Origami is a Japanese word! “Ori”, means “fold” in English. And “kami” means 'paper' in plain English.
Therefore, Origami is nothing but a concept to create objects by folding a sheet of paper with no cut or glue!
In other words, a typical Origami sculpture is built up on folds without using scissors or glue.
It is an ancient form of art practiced in Japan. It does not require any other tools except a pair of dexterous hands.

Most origami models usually begin with a specific type of base. The rest of the model develops from this base. Needless to mention here that origami art has unlimited possibilities!

The history of origami spreads over centuries in the past. The first models were simple and stylized! However, it is no longer so. Origami has now turned into an art form that can create highly sophisticated, complex and technical models.
The theme, “one square, no cut, no glue” is still being followed by the professional origami artists around the world while producing a highly spectacular origami sculpture!
A professional origami sculptor must know how to implant life into the paper before attempting to produce a spectacular object!

“Origami is very difficult”, said Eric Joisel, one of the finest origami masters in the world.
He has also added, "When people ask how long it takes me to make a sculpture I say '35 years', because that is how long it's taken me to get to this level."

However, Mahmud Hasan Reaz, a university student of architecture and a local origami sculptor of repute, looks at it a bit differently!
He said to an interviewer of a local English language Newspaper, that,” Seeing a piece of paper taking shape into a sculpture in my hands is rewarding enough. And when people praise you for your accomplishments, the pleasure is boundless.”

He also said, “The folds get more complex in the advanced stages of origami, but through practice everyone can be an accomplished origami artist, irrespective of age.”

Finished reading? Is anyone of you inspired enough to become an Origami Artist? Then go ahead. See how far you could go!!!

Interested readers may please get hold of origami books and learn the basic origami techniques which are used to construct the models. They can also go to internet to learn more about this ancient art form if they wish.

A sad and heartbreaking story!

Purno is a boy. He is only two years and a month old. He can barely talk coherently.

The doctors could manage to bandage his fractured left arm with much effort! The wounds still look fresh on his forehead and check. The corner of one of his eyes has injury too.

Purno is not capable to recollect what had happened to him and his family on that fateful day!

He has been sobbing to go to his parents ever since he regained consciousness!

His aunt, Sabina, has no words to console him except walking in the corridors of the hospital carrying him in her arms!
She can only walk down the corridors to the nurses’ station and back to the cabin where Purno is lodged now!
Sometimes, he stops sobbing when she offers him orange Juice to drink.
Sometimes, she would show Purno the world outside through the window of his cabin on the seventh floor of the National Institute of Neurosciences and Hospital where he is now being treated!

The story of Purno and his Eight years old sister is sad and heartbreaking one!

I have decided to post the story here so that my readers could join me, if they like, to pray for those departed souls who loved Purno and her sister, Faiza and who have now gone to a place from where none can return!

The boy and the girl are in no way related to me.

I did not know them until the sad and heartbreaking news came out in the media!
However, now my heart goes out for these two as if they are very close to me!

I could not imagine what waits for them in future!

However, I pray for a better future for these two orphans.
You can also join me if you like to pray for them too!
May be, I should remind Doll to lead the prayer! I know how kind and compassionate she could be towards such orphans!

Purno and Faiza lost their parents and an elder sister in the early hours of last Tuesday, while traveling back to Dhaka from a nearby town after attending a wedding ceremony of a relative when a long-haul bus and their car collided head-on.

Four persons died on the spot. Both of their parents, their Eleven years old sister Sneha and the house help, Sima, 21. All of them died instantly!

Purno’s father ( 40 years old ) was an associate professor and registrar of National Institute of Mental Health and Research.

Faiza is now living under care of her youngest aunt Shampa.
Both the will stay at Sabina's house in Dhaka for a couple of months as they will need follow-up treatments.

Then their responsibility will be given to Shampa, their youngest aunt, who will raise them along with her only ,Nahin!

Thank you all for your time spent here!

The Compassionate Tiger and The Brave Goat !!

The Brave Goat has survived but Bruised needing Veterinary Attention!

The unlikely friendship has finally ended almost tragically!

He was meant to be his lunch!

But Amur proved himself a compassionate tiger. May be, Timur’s courage amused Amur so much that he forgot that he was hungry on that fateful day!

The companionship that lasted between Amur and Timur for a considerable long time has ultimately dissolved in a fight yesterday, the 29th January, 2016.

After all, a goat is always a goat! He had no business to bully Amur, the compassionate Siberian tiger!

Perhaps, many of us could remember when the friendship between the mighty tiger and the brave goat began!
May I draw my readers’ attention to the story that Beth1949 had posted on her blog page of this site a few months back telling us about an unlikely friendship that developed between a tiger and a goat?

Readers will please recollect that “Timur was placed in the tiger’s habitat as part of its twice weekly live animal feedings.
The goat surprised onlookers by not only refusing to be eaten, but actually kicking the the tiger out of its bedding area.”

I could recollect that these two not only lived peacefully but also played with a soccer ball together.
The relationship was no doubt beneficial for Timur—the brave Goat! However, Timur began to suffer from obesity due to the beneficial relationship.

So the inevitable happened!

It is reported that, “Timur had been jumping on the tiger, poking it with its horns and attempting to push it.

The uncalled for bullying was enough for Amur –the mighty tiger! It could no longer tolerate such bullying from someone who was supposed to be his lunch!

According to The Siberian Times,” the large cat grabbed the goat by the scruff of its neck and shook it “like a kitten.” Finally the tiger tossed it down a small hill in their enclosure. However, the compassionate tiger did not kill the Goat!

Timur was removed from the habitat by the official of the, Primo sky Safari Park in Russia's far southeastern corner and gave him emergency veterinary treatment.

"Amur did not assault Timur. The tolerant Amur taught a lesson to the impudent Timur," the park said in a statement.

End of the true story! Any comments, dear readers?

Bull Fighting in Bangladesh where the Bull lives to fight next year!

Every year, at autumn-winter season, people of rural Bangladesh wait eagerly to enjoy the traditional bull fighting in open fields throughout the country.

They call it Sharer Lorai in Bengali.

It is not like the bull fighting that takes place in Spain!
Here in Bangladesh, there is no Matador to fight the bull armed with a sharp sword! The mighty Bull does not get killed here by the Matador at the end.

Here the fight actually takes place between two bulls. These bulls are no less ferocious than the Spanish Bulls.
Only difference between the two is that our bulls do not rather are not allowed to chase the onlookers in the open streets.

And none get hurt after the fight is over. The bulls return to their owners’ home to fight again next year and do regular duties in between!!

Here are some pictures of bull fighting in Bangladesh. My readers can watch the pictures from a safe distance!
However, those who would like to watch bull fighting live; they will have to travel to this country immediately. The bull fighting season is now!

Prehistoric massacre in Kenya called oldest evidence of warfare

The oldest evidence of human warfare has since been unearthed in Kenya! Scientists think it as the prehistoric massacre of humans by humans!

The weapons that were used to massacre the fellow humans included arrows, clubs and stone blades.

The Scientists found the fossils of the people massacred 10000 years ago on the shores of a lagoon in Kenya.

The remains of 21 adults and 6 , most under age 6 from a Stone Age hunter-gather were unearthed at a site called Nataruk, 20 miles west of Lake Turkana in Northern Kenya.
There were no older teenagers.

Let us examine one by one what the Scientists unearthed at the site:

They discovered a man’s skeleton with a sharp blade made of a volcanic glass called obsidian still embedded in his skull.

Another person’s skull crushed by two blows apparently caused by clubs was found by them too on the site.

The most striking discovery, according to me, was a woman in the last stages of pregnancy bound by her hands and feet.

The victims also had projectile wounds to the neck and broken skulls, hands, knees and ribs.

The evidence indicated that the massacred people were those who hunted animals, caught fish and gathered edible plants.

They were slain in a premeditated attack by raiders, perhaps from another region.

Upon analysis of the fossils, researchers found clear signs of death by violence.

The attack was, " brutal, physical, lethal attack with the intention to kill those individuals who could put up a defense or mount a counter-attack, or who perhaps were of no use to them, whether it was a man or a very pregnant woman, too young or too old,"

The research results are bound to attract attention of those who believe that Man's inhumanity to man, is not a recent development.

I believe that warfare has been part of the human experience from time immemorial!

I wonder when humans would learn to live peacefully side by side with one another!!

Interested readers may kindly check the journal Nature for details of the research. The research appeared in the journal Nature

The Tisha Story, Last Instalment.

Tisha could finally extract a response to of her large numbers of e mails sent to him though the response was short and to some extent appeared elusive to her! The tone of the message was sad and sounded to her as a swan song! She read it again and again until she started crying alone after putting off the light of her bed room! After sometimes, she stopped sobbing and began reading the message from memory aloud:

I believe you could still remember the following lines of Terry Jacks song that we used to listen together. The Vast Ocean that separated us was no obstacle for us to enjoy the song every night as if holding each other!

We had joy, we had fun
We had seasons in the sun
But the wine and the song
Like the seasons have all gone
All our lives we had fun
We had seasons in the sun
But the hills that we climb
Were just seasons of time

It is time for me to leave for the unknown. Do not ask me to turn back.
Do not tell me you still love me. Let me bear the pain of separation alone while traveling towards the unknown! Just back once and ponder upon what I have left for you to hold on dearly if you really want to hold it until you could discover the fathomless love of mine for you.
I am neither an Army General from U.S, nor a business tycoon from the Gulf State of Kuwait or a product of the current century!

I am what I am!

Allow please to repeat my favorite poet a bit differently once again here for the last time, Tisha!

If you had mistakenly etched my name in secluded shrine of your heart, erase it now!
Do remember my friend to untie the thread with my name on your bright bangles!
Erase the vermilion in my name that adorned your forehead encircled with scent Sandal
The Sweet delight of my bewitched heart must not mingle any more with the fragrance of your being.
My ardent life and death be plundered with your glory that is peerless!

Finally, Tisha could read no more. She broke into sobbing again.

Next morning, she heard the dreaded news on her cell phone from someone unknown to her as was promised to her by him!!!! The message was originated from the city where he lived.
