A big Salute to all men and women who served this country and protected it. When I think of all the men and women who laid down their life that we may enjoy the freedom we have today. when I think of the time they spent away from loved one and the sacrifices they made, my heart goes out to them. May God keep our country free God Bless the USA

How many time have we caught our self looking in the mirror and saying, I have really changed in appearance, I have shadows under my eyes, wrinkles or man have I put on the weight. Over the last year I have looked at myself so many times trying to see what I really looked like. We can see the outer appearances and we all care what other think about us. I have took a deep look at myself and I am happy with some things but I see a lot of faults that I am working on. I have made mistakes and I have been hurt as many on this site has been hurt. I lift my head high and say " Bring a Popeye's chicken to the fox valleys. Everybody feels better eating good chicken. Thanks wilber

On my last blog Abelle2 made a comment about the coffee and about Mt Rainier which brought back more memories of the past.

In 1962, I was twelve at the time, when my parents decided to migrate to Washington state to pick fruit in Yakima valley for the summer. At the time things were very slow in Arkansas as in other states in the south. My Uncles had made the trip the last three years and made enough money to make threw the winter. As soon as school was out we packed up and drove the three days to Washington state. We camped the three nights on the way out. We had a great time with roasting hot dogs and the marsh mellows. I remember camping in Wyoming. It looked like we could reach up and pick the star right out of the heavens. Man did we have so much fun, seeing all the big rocks and all the different people. When we got to Yakima valley we stayed in a little town of Bueana and began picking fruit. We attended The Assembly of God church. The church sponsored a three day camping trip Which took us to Mt. Rainier. We set up camp there and was having a great time. There is just something about hot dogs and hamburger cooked over a open fire. We got to bed about 11:00 pm after putting our food in a cooler and raising above the ground on a rope to limb. The next campsite over didn't and left theirs on picnic table. About 1:30 AM we one heck of a racket women screaming men hollering. A bear had came into the camp and tore everything up. Luckily no one was hurt. We moved on the the next day to I believe the name of city was Ocean city where we camped. I will stop here and finish up in a few days Love ya all wilber

Sometimes we look back at things in our life that brings a little smile to our face. I remember It was a cold saturday morning about 3:00 AM When dad came into the bedroom and and are you awake wilber, I jumped out of bed knowing we had a 100 mile trip in front of us. My Brother was in the Air Force and was in England, so it would be just Dad and I plus our Beagle Called Crip. We were going to Newark, Ark. to do some swamp rabbit hunting. I really like hearing the crip get on a rabbit and hear the bark. We had a camper on the back of our pick-up that we slept in and that just made the weekend that much greater. We had a great weekend we limited out on rabbits. What I remembered most was the time we spent around the camp fire talking and dad's Friend who came by who owned the property we were hunting on and sitting with us talking about times gone by and how things had changed. I still remember to this day how we had a coffee pot that dad put the egg shells in the bottom to take the acid out of the coffee. He said made the coffee taste better, I still haven't found a cup of coffee that taste as good as it did back then( could have been who I was with). Love Ya All Wilber
