An old Gas can laid in the ditch on my way home.... Hell yaaa I'll go for a FREE Jerry Can any day.... I slammed on the brakes, backed up aways , then ran down into the ditch to get it, Tossed it into the trunk, drove home, filled it with water to see if it leaked, NO LEAKS I just have to get a spout for it after I power wash it inside and out. There's crap inside that needs cleaning out. ~~~ seedy stuff and grass. Yaaaa , 100K Mercedes slams on the brakes to pull a Sanford & salvage operation in broad daylight....

Cheap grapes were in Hy Vee yesterday...... 99 cents a pound...........
Last night I canned about 4 gallons of home made Pink Grape Juice Unfortunately... I forgot to take a picture of the whole bunch on the counter... all that was left were *SIX* quarts ... the rest were already tucked away in the panty... My BAD.../ Brain is not functioning properly with rush for Max & Alex's arrival here any moment.
ADDENDUM...............
MAX & ALEX made it here safely... We went out for dinner.

Many of you might remember the hit TV Show GREEN ACRES.
The cast kept you laughing from start to finish with their slapstick comedy.
You might recall just how Lisa had problems with her cooking skills............
Which brings me to my point... While shopping today for T-day items I ran across this brand of sliced peaches. They were less expensive and I thought WTF give them a try.....

JD & Max LOVE Mortadella fried for sandwiches or for breakfast with eggs and pancakes. I scored about 10 lbs today enough for their treat and send some back with Max to Chicago.
Mortadella is a large Italian sausage or luncheon meat made of finely hashed or ground heat-cured pork, which incorporates at least 15% small cubes of pork fat. It is traditionally flavored with black peppercorns ( red arrow ) . Mortadella has a mild pork flavor that is savory and slightly smoky. However, its taste will vary depending on the blend of seasonings in the pork mixture. Common mortadella seasonings include black pepper, salt, pistachio, myrtle berries, cinnamon, cloves, nutmeg, and garlic.

Friday when I got home from town a parcel awaited me on the front step.
I opened up the box and began to gather up the pieces and parts I'd need to mount the candelabra in the dining room wall.
Just gathering the saws, drills, and electrical tools together was an arm load from the shop.
The wall sconce will mount on the far side of the curio cabinet.
Locating the correct height , getting the box centered, and marking it out properly is very important.
Drilling the points to "connect the dots" with the Sawzall for the electrical box keeps the cut clean & neat.
A short piece of 2 wire #14 Romex connected to the box to be strung down the interior wall to a connection point. Shutting OFF the electrical power to the dining room by flipping the circuit breaks
The electrical box firmly secured inside the wall cut ready to be hooked up.

I connected the wires and mounted the new wall sconce to the box in the dining room.
Connecting the new wires into the existing system can be a bit hair raising and a challenge to the circuit breakers until you "Get It Right."
ALL the cut crystal Bangles, Beads, and Bobs in place I flip the switch turning the Wall Sconce into a Glitzy highlight of the Dining Room.

I made it to Hobby Lobby for some seasonal cheer items. I purchased the wreath, bow, butterflies, and berries for a little Seasonal Greeting on our front door.

Here I am at 04:00 doing "the guy thing" then coming in SFF to see what's going on. Since Tuesday we've had about 3"+/- of snow. Yesterday Mother Nature decided to hover about 32F ~~~ 0C with a misty mixture devised to streak up the windshield and slow the traffic on the roads. My photos for Friday display the irregular Snowfall in North Iowa before Thanksgiving.

I doubt myseek1 had a clue in her Post (" Essential Basics ") I planned on blogging about a book I recently purchased. This thick, heavy, hard covered compendium of photographs from the 20th Century as compiled by LIFE Magazine caught my attention with a price equally tantalizing.
Many photos are from history not usually seen on the net.
Some great reading also accompanies the many pictures.
Many of the photos are in color others black and white; however, each is well covered in descriptive narration. Should you run across a copy of this edition I strongly recommend picking it up for a read or if it happens to be in your local library.
