I am right there with you today! But, we have a flea market next weekend, that Joe is so anxious to do, and doctor appointments, and, and, and, and..............

Normally, Nashville is our go-to place to get away, but even there changes are being made that make it not as inviting as it used to be. Our group of SFF friends is still great, but we like to have places to go enjoy together, so we are exploring other avenues.
Myrtle Beach is another favorite of mine.......... I love to sit on our balcony and enjoy the ocean. Walking on the sand is hard for us these days, but I still enjoy the sound and sight of it.
Branson, Missouri is enjoyable too.....
But really thinking about it? There is nowhere that I would want to even travel today or spend the money it takes. I wish I could find a way to just relax at home!
Yep, screw it all............

My recent visit to rural New England was just such a place. However you need to leave cell phone and internet behind or the needy will follow you.

In the winter i go to Mexico. That works better since most of the "responsibilities" are intimidated by the idea.

See Pat, it's always something, isn't it? The flea market can't be that bad though, my daughter and I ran a booth on weekends in the past, we actually had fun doing it.

I've been to Nashville and Myrtle Beach, but I haven't been to Branson yet, I'll put that one on my list of places to visit in the future.

I still haven't been able to get away to see my brother in Florida, he and his wife keep asking me, "When are you coming out to visit?" Everything still depends on when Michael (son in law) gets out of physical rehab.

I stashed money away for a trip dog gone it, and there is no relaxing here, yep, screw it all.

You know, that's not a bad idea, haven't had a Spa Day in over 20 years! Maybe a little pampering wouldn't hurt.

Big hug to you Rocket!

Your trip to New England looked so wonderful, but by the time I get a chance to get away, it will most likely be in the winter time, Mexico sounds better. Where do you go in Mexico?

No problem leaving the phone and internet behind, I've been known to lose my phone for a week, on purpose!

I'm With You Niles- My Client Is Being Such A Turkey Butt Today - Boy After 4 Months With Her I Need The Great Escape- That Will Not Happen Until November When I Head To The Farm To Relax For A Week - Wish It Were This Week
Hahaha, you're going to head to the farm and I need to get away the farm!!

Sorry your client is being such a butt, I know how frustrating that can be!

Yes, yes I do, it's been a long time since I've been to either coast. I know a lake close by I can listen to the waves hitting the rocks, maybe even camp out there for a few days, not quite the same as the ocean, but it was relaxing. Thanks Rainier!

You would think, with only Joe and I in the house, I could just relax. But when I come into the bedroom, I think of things that need done here......... if I go outdoors on the patio, I see the yard needs mowed....... in the living room is the merchandise I need to organize for the flea market...... and the kitchen hollers there are groceries that need bought.
Calgon, where are you? LOL

Hey Roxy, it's so good to know I'm not the only one who gets frustrated at times. I know I should count my blessings, and I know there are those less fortunate then me, but dang it all, seems all I do is work and maybe by getting away for awhile, I'll be a little more appreciative when I get back home. Hope that makes sense? Whine all you want, it's not like the rest of us don't understand, and you will make it to Manhattan and Iowa, I'm sure of it, remodeling can't last forever, at least I hope not.

Hahaha, yep, screw it doesn't have enough zing for me either!!

You're welcome!

Hugs!

Well, escaping my clothing isn't an option here, the animals wouldn't care, but my neighbors might, lol.

I know most won't get it but I escape to my virtual world. I have wonderful houses there with peaceful surroundings. I sit and think and relax.

Smiling here.......... I don't have neighbors close enough to even notice! I went out this morning in my underwear to check the tomatoes, and was pleasantly surprised to find it was almost too cold for that. Got down in the 50s last night.

I live in a small seaside town so am lucky in that the rugged coastline and almost ever present north westerlies help blow away the cobwebs when things get to be too much. I occasionally like to escape [overnight stay] to a nearby city to enjoy its vibrant farmer's market and other cultural offerings. Old buildings with tree lined streets, hanging baskets and friendly folk. Always feel refreshed afterwards. Here's hoping you find your escape soon!

I remember when I didn't have neighbors, sigh, lived here 3 1/2 years before someone bought the property next to me. We aren't piled on top of each other either, we are all on 10 plus acres, but I have the horses in the front because of all the rain we've been getting here. Someone would notice the old lady running around without clothes, lol.

Mid 50's? Hahaha, I'd have my winter coat on!!

Sounds wonderful Lilium. There is a little town not too far from me that sounds similar to what you have described, but it would have to be a day trip, the town is so small that there isn't even a hotel nearby, really nice farmer's market though. Thank you for the idea, I might not be able to break away for a couple days, but maybe a few hours is enough for a little escape.

Lucky you! I would have to drive a 100 miles, or more if I didn't want to run into someone I know. I ran into a man I used to work with at a gas station over 50 miles away from where I live, hadn't seen him in at least 5 years. It was kind of nice to catch up on things though, so not complaining.

Well, I don't have a virtual world, unless you want to call SFF that, or FB, but then I think the people here are as real as I am, so it's not really virtual, is it?

I guess I don't get it Elaine, I like being in the beauty of the real world and would like to see more of it.

You'll have to tell me more about this virtual world, I have no idea what that is.

The sky! Nothing like riding around in the clouds. A glider ride (with an instructor you don't mind spending an hour with) can change your whole perspective. Anyone can sit at a boring beach. Then there is always YouTube...

I want to relax, not get my adrenaline going!! Haha, if I want to do that, I'll just go to Six Flags and get on the Free Fall ride.

Hi Nile: I'm sick of feeling stress when I watch the news these days. Every day it's about terrorists, wars, suicide bombers and of course all the lying and accusations in the seemingly never ending presidential elections. Even watching the Olympics was nerve wracking thinking about the terrible stress those athletes are under. I put on my earphones and listen to some beautiful music while I go for a walk, or watch a Charlie Chaplin or Bette Davis movie and usually feel better.

Being a hermit it's no problem.

If you want to be alone, dont wash, eat lots of garlic, leave a few old cars on the front lawn & have your music loud. Works for me.

Judgment Day will be interesting - and all paths lead there.
