a flower we love so much

However you must be careful

as you bend to smell the rose

That the thorns beneath the petals

don't prick your sensitive nose

Don't ignore the small plant

that appears along it's side

It may display a lovely flower

temporarily before it dies

Oh! that's just a weed you say

it doesn't mean a thing

So you pay no notice to it's beauty

and the pleasure it may bring

Mother Nature has a reason

for everything that grows

If we didn't have the weeds

would we appreciate the rose

So when you visit your garden

be aware of everything that grows

before you admire the rose
