What are you really passionate about? - 10/13/2009

I started asking myself today what gives my life meaning, and what I am really passionate about. As I was ruminating about this, I realized this isn't as easy an question to answer because there are so many things about which we can be passionate.

If I had to say what I am really passionate about, I would list three things: 1) my friends; 2) my church; and 3) music.

I am ...

The Balloonist

A woman in a hot air balloon realized she was lost. She lowered her altitude and spotted a man in a boat below. She shouted to him, "Excuse me, can you help me? I promised a friend I would meet him an hour ago, but I don't know where I am."

The man consulted his portable GPS and replied, "You're in a hot air balloon, approximately 30 feet above a ground elevation ...

Why did Obama just receive the 2009 Nobel Peace Prize? - 10/11/2009

The Associated Press just announced that Obama won the 2009 Nobel Peace Prize in order to encourage his initiatives to promote world peace, reduce nuclear arms, and reduce tensions in the Muslim world.

The Nobel committee in Oslo gave Obama this coveted prize in spite of the fact that the United States is still at war with both Iraq and Afghanistan, and in spite of the fact that there ...

nobel peace prize? - 10/11/2009

It was announced that Obama has been awarded a Nobel Peace Prize. What exactly has he done to deserve this? For some one to even be considered for this award, the paper work has to be turned in by February 3. So that means he was nominated only about 2 weeks after inauguration. Does anyone think that this is a deserved award, or a bought one?

What's your opinion of changes in technology? - 10/8/2009

Hi,

I woke up this morning and I thought about how frustrating it was the other night when I was driving in the dark, and I didn't even know how to turn on my bright lights. Then, it dawned on me that the newer cars have so many different symbols on the dashboard that I had better read my car manual before I have an accident. When I thought of how even cars with automatic transmission ...

Favorite Classic Movies Anybody? - 10/8/2009

Hi,

I just watched "Foul Play" with Goldie Hawn, Chevy Chase and Dudley Moore on the Turner Classic Movie station. What a gas! I laughed myself silly. Haven't laughed so hard in weeks! I don't really have a favorite movie, but this movie certainly will be added to my favorites. If you've never seen it, it is a suspenseful comedy full of twists and turns in plot with suberb acting. Has ...

Does anyone else have a problem with cellulite? - 10/6/2009

Hi,

I remember a few weeks ago someone wrote a post about facial hair, which isn't one of my problems. Yet, after going to Macy's this week and trying on some jeans and slacks, I realized just how bad the cellulite on my thighs has become. It's really discouraging since, aside from the cellulite which makes my thighs look dimpled like orange peels, I have quite a decent shape for someone ...
