Glad you made it safely.
All too often of late my best laid plans result in me not getting laid. 😀
I can sympathize. My getting laid plans don't always work in my favor, either.
I've taken 2 tests, several days apart, and both have been negative. I'm fairly virus resistant.
It was good to hear you and your brothers all got to get together for the birthday party. The timing was certainly tight. It was even better to hear you got home safely. I certainly would not ask how you felt on Monday as I am tactful and have a way too vivid idea. That it took till Wednesday to recover fully is no surprise. I hope your guy is fully recovered by now and it was a light attack.
Sending big hugs.
It took him about a week to feel good. While I didn't get sleepy on the drive, it was physically tiring. The hour break at the party made a big difference.
@superbjversion2 Tired is one thing. Getting sleepy is something very different and a problem. Breaks help a lot.
My daughter asked me to take her to a volleyball tournament outside of Chicago last weekend. We had expected to play the latest last match at 3.... that match finally started at 420... left about 515... got home 1130.... also with caffeine buzz. Thankful I had her for company and that I'm also a night owl, but woke up normal time Monday as she had to drive back to college and I had a ton of work to do since I ditched Friday to go with her. Woke up with a cough and full on head cold rest of the week I've been powering through. That's life sometimes. Ugh
Round trip Jeff City - Chicago? Whew. On the bright side ... you stayed within your time zone.
I'm sorry you've not been feeling well but we suffer for our children!
Top effort, your amazingness.....he must be worth it, lucky fellow!!
I hope you're feeling better today.
ps - don't mean to be a smart arse, but that's the english translation, the corect version is:
'The best laid schemes o' mice an' men
Gang aft agley'
pps - it all means the same thing though, so I guess I am just a smart arsed auld git!
ppps - xxx
My dear Lindo...I deliberately chose the English translation so people would understand.
I do love me a smart arsed auld git though. xx
Sorry your plans did not work out. Glad to read you’re not sick. Thank you so much B for the gift. If you were to become a fan of mine we could communicate privately. I do not subscribe to Kik. Have an awesome day 💜
I don't do the fan thing but maybe I'll open the chat room.
Perfect plan i hope you're enjoying
It was not my usual plan but I made it home safely.
@superbjversion2 good
I'm glad you made it home safely!!
Hugs!!
Thanks, Pony. I'm glad to get home safely every trip though everyone else seems to worry more than I do.
I'm sure that was a buzzkill for you, and out of your comfort zone, but I'm glad you made it back safe and sound.
Not really out of my comfort zone though I didn't like the night driving. I thought I-57 was boring in the daylight!! I was sad that I couldn't stay for the whole party.
Those long drives are rough!
driving an hour is my limit for driving to get laid
I don't drive to get laid.
Hope you remain covid-free!
I used to drive that kind of distance regularly to see family in NC and FL. Now it's less regular and I do tend to find a stop partway. My "sitting tolerance" has gone down since I got older.
I pee every hour so it keeps me from getting too stiff. But by the time I got home, I could tell I wasn't 30 any more!
I've driven long solo trips (with no sleep for more than a day), and I could swear I saw spaceships on the road in front of me. 😲👽
I have to admire your stamina and for driving that distance alone. We used to make trips like that with the band, but we'd split the driving, and we'd always have someone to talk with. Yep... props. 👍💕
It's too bad things worked out the way they did, but it's good to know you made it back in one piece. 🤗
I had excellent phone support.
Man, that is a long drive! As they say in Japan, "otsukaresama!"
(it's a greeting people say to co-workers to thank them for working so hard they tired themselves out)
I've only done the full distance one other time. If I didn't have handy family to break the drive, I never would have started.
And hopefully you're still covid-free? I'm glad you still got to see the sibs on the way home.
I'm a night owl too, but I would need a lot of caffeine and sugar to drive 700 miles on my own in one day. Bravo!
One large diet Coke and a bag of M&Ms got me through the cornfields and all the way to the MI border!
and yes ... I'm still covid free!
How did you feel Monday? Lol
Let's just say I ate breakfast at 1:00 in the afternoon.
