In this town, they made the same promise. Drivers here average more than 50k per year โ Canadian, of course. In "Minni," their salary is 26% higher than the national average and comes in at 40k US per year: still, not bad. Their promise is hollow โ they won't follow it up.
Now, about those gloves...
You think they like it? How can you be sure?
Asking for a friend... ๐ถ
And most of those younger drivers do. And for those who have a partner who works, I guess they're twice as well-off. A job that pays near the break-even point of a comfortable wage in MN is better than no job.
WTF do I know? ๐ค
@Paulxx001 @hippiechick1967 I was shocked to see an article saying that a single person in the Twin Cities would need $90,000 a year to live "comfortably" (not sure how "comfortably" is defined).
At the same time, whenever I look at an article about the issue, the comment section is full of drivers saying they didn't ask for this, they're making $50K a year and they're fine. Of course those comments could be plants from the Uber/Lyft social media teams. Ha.
On the glove question...I always know when HWD likes something, he's a constant feedback kinda guy.
The other partner - someone who I top sometimes at kink parties - is super stoic and silent. But after I used the gloves, his comment afterward was "you're fun to play with". Of course that could have also been in reference to the paddle, the crop, the spoon, or the wartenburg wheel.
@hippiechick1967 @smartasswoman
In MTL a single person would have to earn $45k to be fine. The biggest reason for that low number is rent; it's one of the lowest in NA for a city of this size.
I can see your point about $70K being high.
I've got a spare bedroom. ๐ถ
To get back to Uber, for a sec...
The Uber corporation pays it's drivers a minimum and then charges users based on what return they (Uber corp) want to make. If Uber corp is forced to raise the minimum it pays drivers, then they (Uber Corp) will earn less money (the corp, not the drivers)... and THAT's the issue. The drivers will make money, no matter what but there's a ceiling to what Uber can charge, or people would use taxis, right?
Now getting back to those gloves... Lol... ๐
Just kidding. ๐
Sorta... ๐๐ฒ
@Paulxx001 Currently Uber/Lyft is way cheaper than a taxi, so I think thereโs wiggle room for them to stay competitive. Not to mention that the last taxi ride I took was terrifying, whereas Lyft drivers are sane and polite. It probably has to do with that ranking system!
Itโs about $15 (plus tip) for me to take a Lyft to the airport. Last time I took a taxi it was $25. That was at least eight years ago so Iโm sure itโs more now.
@smartasswoman
True... about taxi drivers. Ya don't wanna take one in this town.
Also true about how polite those Uber/Lyft people are. ๐ค
Lovely HNW picture of you. I have to admit that the feel of leather has an appeal all its own and those are very sexy looking leather gloves on a very sexy woman.
Sening you big Spring hugs.
Itโs true, thereโs nothing that feels quite like it. The PETA sympathizer in me is slightly embarrassed though. Hugs!
@smartasswoman Fake leather just doesn't feel the same nor have that lovely aroma.
Love, love LOVE that album! It's one of my all-time faves, not just the 80s. I saw them at the Northrop, opening for the B-52s, in 1982, and again in the fall of '83 headlining at First Ave. Fantastic show!
Love that you still have the ticket. โค๏ธ
Happy HNW. Backs are tricky
They are indeed!
Your pic is gorgeous!! I love your bra and gloves.
I hope the massage gets your back happy
Hugs!!
I was officially in happy status walking out of the massage studio yesterday.
Looking great, and I'm sure seems companies are going to fill those spots fast
Nice shot!
Unintended, and unforeseen, consequences are so common.
Thanks!
I don't think it was "unforeseen" that Uber and Lyft would threaten to cease operations here; but the City Council went ahead anyway. ๐คท๐ปโโ๏ธ
The human back has serious design flaws โฆweโre led to believe that weโre created in the omnipotent oneโs image, well if I had unlimited power Iโd hope to do a better job of it โฆ. I mean nobody in their right mind is giving a life time guarantee on this pice of inadequate shit, not without going bankrupt any time soon anyway.
Evolution definitely didn't do us any favors when it comes to the back!
Hellooo pretty
That's fantastic that you had such a success! Hopefully this is just a muscular thing and won't require surgery.
I like your Dom look, the bra would be even better with peep holes. Uber over here had a big battle in the courts and I believe the result was that the drivers are now classed as employees and so have holiday and sick pay rights.
Interesting about Uber. I could see an argument for them being considered independent contractors if they arenโt required to keep a particular schedule and can pick and choose which rides they accept. At the same time, if someone is doing it full time, not just as a side gig, it would be fair for them to have some benefits.
