This story made my heart swell and put me in mind of my Pops who has also passed. There's something so magical about the bond between father and daughter that is so special and I was happy to read about yours. You must have so many great memories!!
I grew up listening to Jimmy's music. Always reminds me of an amazing period in my life. I swear every time one of those cheapy flip flops you buy at the dollar store breaks, Margaritaville plays in my head!!
My pops taught me many things and I miss him everyday. We disagreed on music though. It was actually pretty funny. A friend had burned a bunch of CDs for me of all these obscure bands so they were loaded up in my car, at home, etc. I pick him up from the golf course because he got a little in the cups with his cronies at the 19th hole. We're cruising to his place and he keeps poking the next button cuz he didn't like the music. Finally in exasperation, he ejects the CD, rolls down the window and tosses it out!! I'm all, WTF dad. He casually looks over and says, "what else ya got". OMG as I'm typing this I'm crying laughing. Thanks for the trip down memory lane!!
@ KittensnOrgasms awwww.... thank you so much for your heartfelt, and so lovely. We are lucky to have had them and the bond that we were lucky to experience.
Daddy's stay in our hearts and minds forever... well Momma too.... hahaha...talk about apples and oranges; both awesome and so different.
Hell, now I'm crying.
I miss them all so much
peace and grace to you and again, thank you.
