That's a great poem and a wonderful reminder to us all. Hugs
If Death is taking me to dinner, I'm gonna have more than two desserts 😂
I want a steak, spud and then 2 desserts.
@PonyGirl1965
Of course, I'm having steak, fries, wine, and the damned dessert cart 😂
How ironic, last night I watched an episode of The Sandman on Netflix and it was of Dream and his sister Death. Monday I was informed that a good friend if mine back in VA had passed away from a sudden illness and now this poem.
But then again.. Death and I are old friends. Its a long story, maybe some day I will write it down.
Anyways.. Have a great day pony luv.
I am so sorry you lost a friend. Hugs!!
Do share your story
I don’t find it playful. Perhaps it may sound like it to some. The older we get the more likely we look at death as imminent.
Once we hit a certain age, it can happen anytime. It's morbid and true.
Hugs!!
Now that is deep. Was not suppose to survive the night in 2021. Was on the edge and remember in a place sorta of in between. Don't care to discuss father. Hugs
I am so happy that you survived. Hugs!!!!
This is where ones faith in something comes to mind. Its a beautiful poem....and we all must live our lives as we see fit. My living of life may not be your living of life...and thats all ok. Yep its a beautiful poem ~
I had to read that poem several time and reflect on my thought of it for a while before I commented. I like, no love that poem for it is more a reflection on living ones life than on dying. I think Death in this poem may be well be called God as such the questions we may expect God to ask us and Death it the way we are brought to face ourselves and God and answer them I noted that the question was "Did you Live your life?" Not how did you wander, scurry or eke out being alive. Sadly, too many seem to do just that and do not let themselves Live life. To see the wonders and joys it presents to us despite the hard or painful times. Also how we let those times shape us.
This poem reminds us and no doubt the author to live our life not go thought it blind to the wonders it can provide that make some of the pain in it worthwhile.
Hugs to you PonyGirl for I am sure you are a person who truly tries to LIVE your life.
I love earth and all of Gods creations. So much beauty and joy.
Hugs!!

I don't fear death. I want more time on earth of course
This world is amazing.

If Death came to take me to dinner...I'd get two desserts, too!
I love the idea of 2 desserts! Why not?
Great legs
Sometimes have to embrace
Looking good- play till the day!!
It's an interesting way to look at it.
Sorry to say, but "thanks" to the medical industry, few deaths are peaceful these days.
Oh that is so sad and true!! Dying quietly at home is rare.
It's an interesting poem, one I haven't encountered before. Death is a common subject in art, though, even in poetry (lots of Poe, and Dickinson has at least 2 famous ones).
Kind of a nifty little memento mori.
That poem sounds familiar; nice to have a chance to read it again.
I can only hope that when it happens, it's as pleasant as portrayed here. 😊
I would be good dying after dinner or while asleep. No fiery crash please.
OMG!?!!! SOooo Sexy & Gorgeous!!!! I LOVE your outfit and that Sweet Meat showing out the bottom of your dress 🤤🤤🤤
Never looked at it that way
Nice way to go, all things considered.
Sexy heels legs outfit I would love to have my face smashed between those legs
Getting deep. Nice
