Yea, 6 year olds don't really care about rings. Give them a trophy or medal for their achievement. Is it just this tournament that gives out rings or is that becoming the new normal for youth baseball tournaments?
My stepson played ice hockey and up until he turned 9, all teams got participation medals for any tournament they played. He hated those and would say they were as bad as a silver medal. He calls silver the loser's medal. Says that is the only medal you get for losing, you still have to win the last game in order to earn bronze. I guess he has a point with that. Every time he won a silver, he would hang it in the net of his shooting lane at home. It became a target for his accuracy work to motivate himself to get better. 😂
All the tournaments since the grand boy has been playing hand out rings. They are one color and man sized. I guess he is supposed to wear it as an adult?
Your stepson is a hoot. I love his way to improve his accuracy!
No participation anything in this league. The first 2 or 3 places get rings. The rest nothing. You lose, you lose. And we have lost, LOL.
Hugs!
2nd is awesome! My school decided to "hold in" the students today during the eclipse, but someone must've argued the topic, because now everyone has glasses. It's a historical moment that they shouldn't miss. ???? But what's with people thinking it's the end of the world today? haha My dumbass brother in law has his generator ready, thinking something awful is going to happen.
I didn't get the doomsday people! Why ae they always looking for a way for the world to end? It has to be depressing!
I scoped out a spot in the path of totality to visit, but then remembered both weather and traffic fiascos of my last attempt and decided 91% coverage here is good enough.
We were over 90% which is enough for me. Plus I had the toddler today.
Hugs!!
We were over 90% for the eclipse. It was still glaring bright though.
The trees create such a lovely effect.
Hugs!
Congrats to the Grandboys for taking second place. I hope the weather was as nice for the game Sunday as Saturday's was bad.
Hope you got to see enjoy the eclipse. I did wind up checking it out and even getting pictures which I posting in my second post of the day. Thought it funny that both of them would have pictures of shadows in them. It was a quite but enjoyable day in which I again avoided doing laundry.
Sending you big naked hugs.
Sundays weather was perfect. Just a great day
The eclipse makes funny shadows. The crescents under trees are cute.
Laundry can wait. Life is important!
Hugs!!
@PonyGirl1965 Good to hear you had a great day. The eclipse does make funny shadows. Laundry can wait and one can go commando if need be.
Sending big naked hugs.
Congratulations to your kids i hope doing better next time.. good...yes solar eclipse it's happening in US i know..be careful of your family eyes..etc....have a wonderful day
We checked out te eclipse. It was easier to see details on the tv
Hugs!!
@PonyGirl1965 perfect
Love the pic
In most of the sports my daughter played over the years, they did medals instead of trophies. Her great uncle made a cool wall mounted quilt rack that she hung them on for years. I assume that in the near future, she'll pack them away and hang a quilt she found at the farm that I believe her great grandmother made.
I have my eclipse glasses... we'll see if I remember to go outside. 😆
I think a display of some sort is a great idea. Otherwise the kid is going to lose it, LOL.
Hugs!
Always great when grandkids do well. Suppose to be warm here also like spring. Not sure about eclipse, could be cloudy. Have a awesome day. Hugs
We had very light, high clouds. So the sun and moon were easily seen.
Hugs!!
@PonyGirl1965 Was a complete cloud cover with light rain so nothing could be seen. Was like a normal cloudy day. Glad you got to observe. Hugs.
Good for you.
