The house I lived in until I was 7 years old, back then there was no fence or gates,no railing on the front porch and no extra room. It was a small home where my brothers and sisters played under a huge willow tree in the corner of the yard out front and my older brother and I walked to the school on the next block just around the corner.

The house next door was where my best friend lived and I once ran away from home to the second house up from there...lol On a recent visit I saw all the changes that were made and couldn't help wondering how much longer that old house will stand, saw all the changes and extensions and I never realised just how big the place was when I was small.

My grand and both celebrate their birthday on the same day. This is a picture of my 's birthday cake taken while he shared blowing out the candles with his niece. She had her own party during the day and was thrilled that her uncle shared his with her too.

My favorite pictures are that of the beautiful Brisbane Waters where I live and are my favorites because not only are they beautiful views they also bring back fond memories.

The first 3 pictures I took standing at the waterfront outside the Olympic swimming pool where I used to go swimming as a and later also took my to swim. In more recent years I have put a boat in the water for a spot of fishing and paddled a canoe a few times.

In the background of the first picture stands Iguana Joes and the hill behind that forms part of Presidents Hill lookout. When I was a my friends and I trekked up to the top regularly and as teenagers it became the local hang out spot. The last picture encompasses views of the Brisbane Waters from the top of the lookout hope you enjoy it as much as I do.

Friday the 13th a day of superstition.

Be warned
Don't walk under ladders.
Don't step on cracks.
Don't let a black cat cross your path.

It was a dark and stormy night and what did I spy? A devil a witch and a little fairy.

Horseshoe Lagoon on the outskirts of Albury. Council have installed signage listing ordinances, No this No that NO NO NO every thing there BUT they didn't list NO FISHING, I wonder why? The below information I have extracted directly from the council website. Funny

Extract 1.
Fishing is prohibited in the following areas
Murray - Horseshoe Lagoon
Extract 2.
Fishathon
Grab the , tackle box and your favourite chair and join in the annual Fishathon at Horseshoe Lagoon. can also enter The Clean Water: Essential for life colouring-in competition.

Footnote: Extracted information above is incomplete used only to add a funny side to the story. Council hold a fishathon to rid the waterways of introduced species (carp).

My gutters used to have annoying leaks and drips so I got new guttering. The first 2 pics are my new guttering during a downpoor, wow they work well don't they LOL...funny not! Of course they been fixed now.

The second 2 pics are of a turtle at the reptile park. At first (with all the mouning and grouning going on) I was wondering if he thought that rock was another turtle until I realised he was a male and we all know males pee standing up, the grandkids were laughing thier heads off.

My collage this week shows:
Bottom left: Mount Crackenback in the Kosciusko National park, the snow still visible on the peaks and cold in November (the last month of our spring).
Top right: Summer storms over Sydney Harbor light up the sky, this was taken at night.

The rest of the pictures were taken in my very own back yard:
The sun peaking through a winter fog and the recent dust storm we had this spring, both were taken in color and in daylight hours but appear very differently.
Our past summers have been very dry and the ducks thought that they had found the perfect water hole, my swimming pool, which they visited several times before moving on.

Back to spring of this year (now): The bottle brush trees are in flower and this brings many native birds to my back yard. Using a zoom lens I was fortunate to get close enough to snap a couple of shots of the rainbow lorikeets that frequent my yard at this time of year. The seasons change and each has its own wondrous sites but I like spring the best, beautiful flowers and many beautiful birds and their young that I watch quietly while they visit. This spring is special for me because it also brings the birth of my new granddaughter.

Spring is the season that truly shows Mother Nature at its best.
