Insights about Internet Bullying and Mobbing

Internet Mobbing is group bullying. The Ringleader will choose a target and using the tactics of rumor, innuendo, discrediting, isolating, intimidating, and above all, making it look as if the targeted person is responsible. Many who follow the ringleader would not do some of the things that they do on their own. Many of them will end up taking the fall while the ringleader gets jollification.

The mobbing behavior will be justified by maintaining that the target ‘deserved it.’
for reasons that are not genuinely or justifiably known to most of those who are mobbing the target.

Mobbing can be compared to office politics at the workplace. Mobbing is the "ganging up" by co-workers, subordinates or superiors, to force someone out of the workplace through rumor, innuendo, intimidation, discrediting, isolation, and particularly, humiliation.

The effects can be devastating. The movies "Carrie" by Stephen King or Arthur Miller’s “The Crucible” are examples of mobbing and what it can do.

You have to wonder about the mindset of some of the internet bullies and followers. How do they treat people in the world. It's a sad affair indeed.

Adventures of Being Lost in the @#!#!%!!!!! Forest

I tend to be a directionally challenged person, even with a GPS. I like doing Geocaching in the late afternoon to escape the heat so Ferlin the Mutt and I jumped in the car and I drove to the Greenbrier forest at about 5pm this evening in search of
Black Bear's Cache
N 37° 43.977 W 080° 21.066

I found this one last year but wanted to drop a travel bug in it - so this was a return trip. Easy I thought. Ho! Ho! Ho! The last time I learned that one coordinate will be spot on but to stay on the trail when it changes and it will eventually get to where it should be with both coordinates. I found the spot and started down a hill toward the second coordinate. There was a great big fallen tree in the way so I went around the tree. The coordinates were way off so I decided to head back to the trail. I turned around and no trail. I kept heading up. Still there was no trail. I got a message on the GPS. Batteries are low.
Suddenly, I am lost in the Forest, my GPS is running low, and I am running out of light. Eventually, the GPS said Power extremely low - turning off. Gadzooks. What a mess I am in. I anticipated spending the night in the forest with the bears. I Oh Joy!

There was a dried stream. I decided to follow the stream. Eventually that stream would get me someplace.

Tony Tony Turn Around - What is Lost - Must Be found - Maybe I wasn't lost - I just didn't know where I was.

About two minutes after the prayer, Ferlin headed up the side of the stream. Lo and Behold, there were the signs pointing the various directions of the different trails.

A couple of things I learned from this experience. Never Never - take off when the batteries of the GPS are low. Mark the coordinates of the location of where the car is parked before starting the hike. Mark the coordinates at the trail before walking off the trail. and ideally have a hiking buddy - preferable a nondirectionall challenged male with benefits

Jesus Was A Capricorn lyrics

by Kris Kristofferson

Jesus was a Capricorn
He ate organic food
He believed in love and peace
And never wore no shoes
Long hair, beard and sandles
And a funky bunch of friends
Reckon we'd just nail him up
If he came down again

Chorus:
'Cause everybody's gotta have somebody to look down on
Prove they can be better than at any time they choose
Someone doin' somethin' dirty decent folks can frown on
If you can't find nobody else, then help yourself to me

Eggheads fussin' rednecks cussin'
Hippies for their hair
Others laugh at straights who laugh at
Freaks who laugh at squares
Some folks hate the Whites
Who hate the Blacks who hate the Klan
Most of us hate anything that
We don't understand
Chorus

The Adventures of NOT finding Rent-A-Dog

Rent-A-Dog
N 37° 54.594 W 080° 19.200

Geocaching is on-line sport where Caches are hidden, the coordinates listed and a GPS locater is used to find them. A Travel Bug is a trackable tag that you attach to an item. This allows you to track your item. The item becomes a hitchhiker that is carried from cache to cache (or person to person) in the real world and you can follow its progress online.

Yesterday I was looking for Rent-A-Dog on the Greenbrier River Trail. I thought I would easily nab this one, drop off the travel bug Galileo's Midnite Sun into the cache and take off to find another one.

Things did not go as planned. Once I reached the first coordinate, it appeared that the next coordinate was heading toward the river. I had to hike down a hill full of brier bushes and poison ivy to get to the river. I finally thought I found the coordinate - a tree covered with poison ivy - luckily the plant has no effect on me like it does other people. Nevertheless I looked at the coordinates and realized that I was at 37° 54.574 when I was suppose to be at 37° 54.594. I climbed the hill back to the trail. I suspect that the GPS Unit was confused because now it wanted me to up a very steep cliff on the other side of the trail.

Heck Darn Blast, I need hiking boots not tennis shoes to make it up that cliff. I suspect that Ferlin the Mutt and my favorite Hiking buddy was having a good laugh.

One of the reasons the Cache is called Rent A is because the local dogs like to join the hikers. Ferlin was flirting with a female and a male was flirting with Ferlin. It was a major league challenge getting him away from the other dogs.

Ferlin did find a trail to the river. I thought maybe Ferlin is on to something - so I followed him. There were a dozen or so Boy Toys skinny dipping in the river. It was good for a chuckle but I left as quickly as possible. Scantily Clad Geezers are more my style now-a-days.

I am going back to attempt to find it again. Maybe without Ferlin. One of my geocaching buddies advised me to stay on the trail for another .5 miles and the coordinates will straighten out to where they need to be. Galileo's Midnite Sun will be launched off to a new adventure by this weekend.

Geocaching does motivate me to go out on the hiking trails and I've made like-minded friends.

There is no such thing as a falling star, only space rocks that travel to the earth fast they they create fire and are usually little bitty pebbles if they manage to reach the earth.

The Stars are actually Suns that can be seen at night. Dream upon a midnite Sun and if it's a good dream - it will become real.

My latest travel bug for the sport of Geocaching is called Galileo's Midnight Sun

Namaste for blessing all that is scared within

It is the Native American Belief as I was taught that the Creator lives in the Sun. His vibrational energy can survive in the Sun. It was also taught that we all grow and progress. The Creator within us grows and eventually we can live with the Creator too. The Sun is actually a Star in the Day Time. Stars are Suns in the Nighttime so what is there to fear????

“Having been admonished by this Holy Office [the Inquisition] entirely to abandon the false opinion that the Sun was the center of the universe and immovable, and that the Earth was not the center of the same and that it moved... I abjure with a since”
quote Galileo Galilei

I wish, my dear Kepler, that we could have a good laugh together at the extraordinary stupidity of the mob. What do you think of the foremost philosophers of this University? In spite of my oft-repeated efforts and invitations, they have refused, wit”

quote Galileo Galilei

I've loved the stars too fondly to be fearful of the night”

Dealing with On-Line Bullies

When dealing with an on-line bully don't respond, don't interact and don't engage. This is not easy but it is doable. The first response to want to defend yourself but it is counter-productive to communicate with a bully. The bully does not function with the mindset of a mature adult.. The bully may be an adult on the outside, on the inside they are like ill-mannered who's never grew up - and probably never will. Bullies and harassers often have disordered thinking patterns.

Keep documentation of the abuse in a file. When the time comes to take action, this file is your evidence. Bullies, especially cyberbullies, are obsessive people and if their account is closed down, they may start another profile so expect to receive harassing messages from that profile. This can later be compared to harassing messages already received to identify the bully. There will be similar words, phrases and strategies occurring.

Don’t try to deal with the bully yourself. Even mature experienced adults often cannot handle bullying and harassment by themselves. Get a third party to intercede and take the bully to task.

When people use bullying behaviors they project their own weaknesses, failings and shortcomings on to others. In other words, they are telling you about themselves by fabricating an accusation based on something they themselves have done wrong. When you are being harassed on-line, ask the question, "What is this person revealing about themselves this time?"

When the timing is right, take action. Prepare carefully and strike hard. Ignoring the bully may cause them to lose interest and find an easier target to torment but don't count on it. The cyberbully may obsessed to the point that that s/he cannot and will not let go. You will have to make that person let go, but only through swift, hard, action. It is best not to deal with the abuser yourself.

never try to mediate, negotiate, conciliate or otherwise deal with a bully or stalker yourself

. Always remember Rule #1: don't respond, don't interact and don't engage.

Ignore Button,
Ban Button
and Report Abuse

More On The Da Vinci Code

The Da Vinci Code" has spurred a worldwide controversy. The Vatican has denounced it, church leaders have condemned it, and audiences are flocking to see it.

Personally, I found the movie to be a bit ho hum but it does reflect attitudes that I already adhere to.

Christianity and I parted company because I could no longer force fit my beliefs to fit their dogma. The Book and now a movie indicates that the female aspect of God was present in the Early Christian Movement but pushed out for political gain and power by Early Church Leaders.

The witch persecutions , and the Malleus Mallificarum--the 15th-century manuscript that sent the Inquisition after women healers and herbalists was all about power. It was never about Spirituality.

I met a gentleman from Virginia on the Site and we spent Saturday together.

I love Capricorn Gentlemen - Capricorn Sun - Libra Rising - Sag Moon.......... there are advantages to being an Astrologer

Saturday, Morning - we went to a Civil War Reenactment and cheered for the Yankees - after all they did win the war - but in reality the war made as much sense as Vietnam - maybe less so since it was Americans fighting Americans in the quest for Old Money Versus New Money

I introduced him to Geocaching by showing him how to find one of my caches.

Publix Enemy WV-3
by StarGazerGal
N 37° 48.220 W 080° 26.957
When I was caching in Georgia - I discovered several Publix Enemy Caches - The cache, publix enemy, has sparked a local craze of other "enemy caches" all over georgia and neighboring states (tennessee, south carolina and florida and NOW West Virginia.)

At noon, we went to a Native American Pow Wow. We talked about tribal roots. All people regardless of heritage have tribal roots. His people were from Russia and the Slavic Countries. My people were Native Americans blended with Celts and Germans.

In the Afternoon - We went to see The Da Vinci Code. We both read the book and the movie is overrated. It's an okay movie but not a spectacular movie. I liked actually seeing the artifacts mentioned in the book.

After the Movie - We went geocaching for a cache called The Greenbrier Ghost
N 37° 54.101 W 080° 37.956 - It was a multi-cache which means the the first cache contains the coordinates of a second area with a cache containing the coordinates of the actual cache. This was my first "First to Find!!!!" It made my day

afterwards it was back to the Pow Wow and dinner at the local Chinese Place. Sushi Yum Yum!

I suspect another Geocacher will be entering the fold. We will be meeting again in two weeks for a 12 Step Convention and more Geocaching, I will be planting a Publix Enemy Cache in VIRGINIA.
