Dear Sis:

I thank you for the hospitality that you show me when I was in Arkansas. I am sure that you are aware that I have been involved with a 12 Step Program for a number of years. One of the things we learn is taking responsibility for our own mistakes.

We were all trying to deal with our Brother's Death to the best of our ability. My best was dealing with it in spiritual terms and be assured that he would okay with the transition that we all must eventually make.

I don't know what your agenda was for saying what you said but my mistake was feeling hurt and reacting to it. For that I apologize.

I was told that you were offended by the term "crossing over." This is a Native American Term. I have been a member of the Native American Community for a number of years. I have participated in Sweat Lodge Ceremonies, gone to Pow Wow's and other Native American Gathering. I am personally more comfortable using that term than some of the other phases.

Certainly, the term "Crossing Over" is no more offensive than "Dang Bro, Am I going to have to use that Dr. Pepper bottle to hold your cremated remains!." I would be horrified if someone said that to me when I was on my deathbed.

I also heard stories of rumors being circulated in the family that I am a Crazed Satanist, doing strange rituals and putting spells on people. This is totally untrue. I don't even believe in Satan. I do believe in Good and Evil but we are all God's . Most folks are evolving in the direction of Good.

I am certainly not the first alcoholic to have problems with the "Hell Fire Damnation" Concept of God.

Nevertheless, My Spirituality is something that I take VERY seriously. I would have never been able to maintain almost 30 years of sobriety if I did not have a working relationship with my Higher Power.

Step 3 Made a decision to turn our will and our lives our to the care of God as we understood Him.
quoted by the Big Book of Alcoholics Anonymous

So I think outside the box when it comes to God. I don't need some preacher on the pulpit to define God for me. No one religion has an excursive on God. What is important is to seek God, The path we use to find him is secondary.

Nevertheless, the horror stories circulating about me have absolutely no validity.

Step Eight and Nine have to do with clearing out negative energy and airing grievances respectfully. This is what I am attempting to do. You are quite correct in stating that I don't have a clue about your life. You don't have a clue about my life either. Our lives have evolved to the yearly Christmas Card exchange.

Namaste!
Sis

Silver Balloons, A Happy Face and Godspeed Little Brother

My Brother is now in the Spiritworld.

I was looking for white ballons for a balloon release ceremony. I found silver balloons and a happy face balloon.

I once read someplace that when a baby is born, we smile, the baby cries. When a loved one crosses over, we cry and the loved one smiles.

The happy face represented my brother and the silver balloons represented heavenly beings escorting him to the other side.

We released the balloons to release his spirit. Soon they all disappeared into the Clouds

How Clean Is YOur House?

I have been watching a televison program about two English Ladies who inspect messy houses and tell the occupants how to get it in order.

Never did I suspect that I would be doing the same thing to get my Brother's House in Order. I have never been accused of being a Domestic Goddess however......... I have been cleaning his room with a rake and shovel. No wonder he got sick.

There is always the possibility that he may not be able to return home even when I do get it clean. It's amazing how many disease causing bacterias and creepy crawlers grow in messy room.

Some of the tips - I've gotten from the program.

In warm, humid weather, bacteria can really multiply in your dishcloth. To help keep it clean, you can simply stick it in your dishwasher (if you have one) at the end of the day with the rest of the load, or just leave it in the sink overnight with a little washing up liquid and bleach. Quick and easy.

Drains do tend to get smelly, especially in warm weather. By pouring down some washing baking soda and boiling water you should be able to clear the offending blockages of grease and grime.

To get rid of kitchen oders, simply simmer some orange peel, cloves and water for 10 minutes.[/I

My brother was given the Last Rites when he was on the brinks of death. My Catholic Friends tell me that it is a healing ritual that gives spiritual and even physical strength to the ailing individuual.

Amazingingly, my brother is off the life support and out of ICU. It appears that he is on the road to recovery. I was discussing this riutal with his and told her that it is my belief that healing can occur on either side. The (Blue Road) Spirit World or the Earth Walk (Red Road). For whatever reason, the Creator has decided to keep my brother on the Red Road.

My Brother has been given the Last Rites and there will be a family meeting with the doctors tomorrow morning. Most likely, he will unhooked from Life Support.

I wished that I could be in Arkansas with my Siblings. I wished I could play some music for my Brother - tell him how much the Creator Loves Him and Yes, I will miss him but to say Hi to my Parents when he reaches the other side.

I wished I could be there to comfort my 18 year old
niece who losing her Father. My siblings and I have experienced the Deaths of Grandparents, Parents, Friends. This is a first for my Niece. I want to hold her and assure her that it's okay to let her Father go. My Youngest is on the way to be Peer Support for my Niece.

I want to comfort my Baby Brother who found his older Brother and called an Ambulance. I want him to know that he did all that he could and it is the Will of the Creator for my Brother to cross over.

Tonight I will just light a candle for him and get on the bus to Arkansas soon as I can. I will hug my Siblings and Niece when I get there. Life on Life's Terms. My Brother is going to the SpiritWorld. He'll be okay and so will the rest of us.

When my brother's marriage went South - He decided to live with his Aunt in Las Vegas for awhile. He found a job but gave all his money to the Casinos. He gave me a call and asked me to come get him. I lived in Ojai, California at the time. My siblings have been to Vegas more than I have thus I tend to be more conservative in gambling adventures.

I loaded my two boys into the car and off we went to Las Vegas. We spent the night in the Beautiful town of Barstow and made it to Vegas the next morning. When we found my brother, he suggested that we go to Circus Circus to get some freebies for the boys. Afterwards, we found a buffet - My brother kept asking "Do you want to go gamble?" Yeah Sure! He's broke and I don't want to follow his lead.

As we headed out of Vegas, My brother suggested that we stop at Whiskey Pete's so that the boys can see the "Bonnie and Clyde Death Car!" Oh what a thrill! An old car full of bullet holes. "This is your last chance to gamble," my brother advised me. " I would rather spend my money getting home versus giving it all to Whiskey Pete," I told my brother.

We finally dropped him off at another brother's house in Lancaster.

"Hey Mom, Uncle Bo sure wanted to spend your money," my older commented as we were heading back to Ojai.

Okay, Josh - I will give you a quarter for every tree that God has named in your honor. We were driving through a Joshua Tree Forest.

"There's One, There's One, There's One..........." my older commented.

Why don't we find a "Billy" Goat Farm? my younger remarked.

Three years ago, I was having a conversation with my brother. We were talking about how first we lost our grandparents, next came our parents. We became the first generation. I am the oldest sibling and and he is the oldest . Next the siblings would go. My brother commented that he would be the first sibling to go.

It appears that my brother's premonition may be correct.

Yesterday, I received an e-mail from my Niece to call my sister. It was very important. My younger brother found the older brother unconscious. Right now, he is in ICU in a coma. His kidneys have shut down. The prognosis is not good. The doctor has discussed rather the family wants to resuscitate but it be his 's call. She is only 18. If my brother comes out of the coma, I will give him one of my kidneys.

All I can do is pray for my brother. Either way, he will be okay.
