When is it too much?

"In a survey that's still under way, more than 8,000 people over 50 have already revealed what happens in their relationships — and in their bedrooms. Now the creators of that survey — writer Chrisanna Northrup, AARP relationship expert Pepper Schwartz, Ph.D., and sociologist James Witte, Ph.D. — tell us what's typical of seasoned lovers.

How often do you and your partner make love?
31 percent of couples have sex several times a week; 28 percent of couples have sex a couple of times a month; and 8 percent of couples have sex once a month. Sadly — or so we thought — 33 percent of respondents said they rarely or never have sex. But even among couples who report being "extremely happy," an astonishing one-fourth rarely or never get it on."

I had my colonoscopy yesterday and they found 2 polyps. If my post gets even 1 person to have a colonoscopy, it will be worth it. Most colon cancers begin with a polyps. Before they used to do major surgery to remove a polyps but now there is a colonoscopy. Your risk of colon cancer increases at age 50 but some younger have had it. Katie Couric's first husband died of it in his 40s. Depending on your family history, you will need it at different intervals. There are some risks associated with doing it so of course, it's up to you. Those risks are rare but may increase at age 65. So it's something to speak to your doctor about.

Some polyps are the type that could lead to cancer and some are not. I have no idea which were removed yesterday but I will once I get the report. Those that have cancer potential could have turned to cancer unless removed. Removal during a colonoscopy is no big deal. I slept through it all. I once was awake during a colonoscopy (or most of it) for some reason but out of all the ones I have had, that happened only once. Usually you sleep and don't feel a thing.

Remember one thing if you feel it isn't worth having: COLON CANCER CAN KILL YOU!!!! It is one of the top cancers that people have died from. It is PREVENTABLE in most cases by having a colonoscopy. Men, it DOESN'T make you gay to have something up your ass. It isn't sexual. It is for your health.

HAVE YOU MELLOWED WITH AGE?

I try not to let things get to me as much as they used to. I don't think that I have mellowed but there is still time for me to do so. What about you?

I won't be around tomorrow at least not early in the day. I am having a colonoscopy and a scope. Yes, it's a day that I am really not looking forward to. However, a colonoscopy may have saved my dad's life so it is important.

I can now SPEAK my mind!

I am back to talking. Thank heavens. I was told to begin slowly. I hope I have done that. I found that it was harder at the beginning. I got used to not speaking to some degree. My family decided that based on my handwriting, I should have been a doctor. It was an interesting experience that I hope not to repeat. It did make me realize that perhaps I need to spread out my talking. We take our voices for granted, but sometimes we learn that we may be in a situation where we can't voice our opinions if it requires verbal communication. It is a tough but important lesson to learn. Don't take SPEAKING your mind for granted.

Thanks again for all your support and encouragement during my 10 days of silence.

Have a great week everyone!!!

HOW DID APRIL FOOLS DAY ORIGINATE?

There seems to be different theories as to how April Fools Day began. Here is an excerpt from Wikipedia:

"In the Middle Ages, New Year's Day was celebrated on 25 March in most European towns.[10] In some areas of France, New Year's was a week-long holiday ending on 1 April.[2][4] Some writers suggest that April Fools' originated because those who celebrated on 1 January made fun of those who celebrated on other dates.[2] The use of 1 January as New Year's Day was common in France by the mid-16th century,[7] and this date was adopted officially in 1564 by the Edict of Roussillon."

What pranks have you pulled today? Sadly, I haven't done a thing.

I was curious so I just took a look. It has been a year since I started blogging here. My first post was in March 2015. It feels so much longer than that. I feel like I know most of you a long time. I will celebrate this Sunday after 12 am by talking. I want to say that I am happy to have met most of you. The rest of you, let's just say, it's been interesting.

TIS BETTER TO HAVE LOVED AND LOST THAN NEVER TO HAVE LOVED AT ALL - TRUE OR FALSE?

I know the expression, but is it true? I just read an interesting debate about that. Both sides have merits. One can argue that adversity makes one stronger along with other compelling arguments. The other side is that if you really love someone and lose them, you can never be the same. Loss can take many forms. I am not referring to death necessarily. It can mean a breakup. Based on your experience and point of view, what do you think?

I always try to answer my own questions, to be fair. When my first boyfriend and I were through after 7 years together, I went through a long period of not wanting to start over with someone new. The pain was too great. However, I do love my current boyfriend and if I didn't let love in, I would not have met him. Therefore, I do believe "Tis Better To Have Loved And Lost Than Never To Have Loved At All".

I HAVE BEEN FEELING DOWN

I never realized how important talking is. Usually if I am lonely, I call a friend. Other times, they call me. The past 5 days have been depressing. I can't call anyone and my friends know they can't call me. I would be tempted to say something if they called so I told them better not to. There are things I needed to deal with and not being able to call regarding those matters, has been difficult. Thankfully only 4.5 days to go to end these 10 days of silence that the doctor ordered.

I hope it's alright to put this in a post. I guess I needed to vent. Thanks for listening.
