I am a true romantic. I love happy endings. I want to kiss under the moonlight and hold hands talking a nice walk. I love dinner at a romantic restaurant with a soft candle, where we can gaze into each other's eyes lovingly. There is only one little problem. My boyfriend thinks he's a romantic guy but I've yet to see it. I did have romance with my first love but oh well, I guess there are more important things in life. He shows me love in other ways.

How important is it to you to have a romantic partner?

What TV shows do you wish were back on the air?

Were there TV shows before reality TV? Yes, there were. Sure, I can hardly remember them (kidding) but here goes. Growing up I was a huge Marlo Thomas fan. I loved, loved, loved That Girl. I used to watch medical shows like Marcus Welby, long before James Brolin cared about his funny girl. As I got older, I watched the usual sitcoms (I'm not going to talk about B.C. here) including The Golden Girls. They don't seem old to me now.

I was also a big fan of mysteries like Murder She Wrote. I had to solve those crimes. If I didn't, Matlock and others I watched did. I was crazy about James Spader from Boston Legal, a show that I actually signed a petition to put back on the air. It failed but I don't think it hurt James Spader's career. The Blacklist star is a great actor. LA Law was another favorite. David E. Kelley not only won the heart of the gorgeous Michelle Pfeiffer but had quirky shows that I enjoyed watching. The list goes on and on.

Which shows do you miss?

I like talking with men on the phone. I have nothing against talking to women but it's been men that I've had as phone friends. My boyfriend doesn't have a jealous bone in his body (shucks!). He only cares that I don't go around meeting men or having sex with them. I should add that my boyfriend is also a workoholic. He's probably happy that I'm occupied.

I recently made a new friend. He is a great guy, intelligent with a great sense of humor. We talk about normal things like about his work or his day. He's married. The first thing I asked him was if his wife was fine with him talking to women. He said she's fine with it unless he has sex with them. Sounds like my boyfriend. I began to notice that he seemed to speak to me before going home and not in the weekend. I asked him point blank and he said it's easier not to talk from his house. He later told me he will mention me to her, when I said we're not doing anything wrong and my boyfriend knows about him. Hopefully he will tell her. I wouldn't drop him as a friend at this point, as I had an issue come up and he helped me. His expertise in his field helped me immensely and I've always believed, a friend in need is a friend indeed. I already consider him a great friend.

What do you think about a husband/bf talking to a new woman friend (as opposed to an old friend from before their marriage/relationship)? Would you be jealous? Same question to the men.

When is it wrong to say "I'm falling in love with you"?

When a guy isn't sure about his feelings, is it alright to tell a woman he is falling in love with her? I asked 2 guys and they gave different answers. What got me started on this topic is that I was watching The Bachelor, which put the guy in an unusual circumstance. He was down to choosing between 3 women (poor guy, I know) and he told at least 2 women to their faces that he was starting to fall in love with them. The 3rd one he said he was falling for her on camera, but we didn't see him tell her directly. I felt that was very wrong and lost all respect for him. Until he made up his mind who he truly loves, he had no business saying anything about love to any of the women.

In the case of the TV show, he might have said it to get them into bed. He told them after they agreed to spend the night with him in the fantasy suite. He might have been worried they would just talk all night. Who knows? In a guy's regular life, to tell a woman he is falling in love with her, when he is dating others, isn't right in my opinion. Same if a woman does that to a guy, when she has multiple men in her love life.

I'd love to hear comments on what others think.

You didn't think you'd get away without seeing another Venice picture, did you? It was my favorite city and I loved Italy. For that matter, Mykonos was beautiful, Paris has fantastic museums and food and I can go on and on. If you've never taken a Mediterranean cruise, you're missing out.

Picture 1: I wanted you to see that we were serenaded. There was a singer and accordion player with 5 gondolas going on the same tour.

Picture 2: The copy of Michelangelo's David, Florence, Italy.

Picture 3: In Rome, italy, I thought this was cute.

Picture 4: I made a Photobook of our trip, at my sister's request. It wasn't easy to do because the best pics were still shots from my video camera. The resolution made it impossible to do full page spreads. This is a page from our photobook. It was from Hampton Court Palace in England, the outskirts of London. I put together this page from a picture of Henry VIII, Anne Boleyn, Katherine of Aragon and the plaque of all of his wives.

Picture 5: Cavtat in Croatia. It was beautiful there. We had a nice time.

Picture 6: The town of Amalfi, Italy.

Julianne Moore Won!!!

Julianne Moore won best actress at the Oscars and I'm glad for 3 reasons. First, Alzheimer's disease needs more funding and more recognition. The fact of the matter is that as the population ages, there will be more people than ever before diagnosed with it. My uncle had dimentia for 20 years and it is a horrible disease (not that there are any good ones).

Secondly, I'm glad she won because she started in a soap opera. Her first real break was on As The World Turns. Unlike many soap opera stars who seem to have amnesia about their beginnings, she acknowledged it in one of her recent acceptance speeches. Good for her!!!

Lastly, she's a redhead and as a natural redhead, I was happy. Ok, that wasn't that big a deal that she's a redhead but I preferred giving 3 reasons. It sounds better. lol

Wishing everyone a good week and let's have some fun here!!!

Am I expected to know ALL the posts that have gone up before mine???

I don't understand why some people look for fights. Yesterday I had those nasty words on one of my posts, and wrote a new post about that. Today, I'm under fire by someone who I have liked since I started blogging.

I only started blogging in 2015. I put up a blog about Bill Cosby. I happen to think he's guilty. Am I positive, no. Is it likely he's innocent? I would say no. Anyhow it turns out that another blog about Bill Cosby was written Dec 2014. I DIDN'T know. I really didn't. It happens. I saw a picture put up by 2 members this week. The SAME picture. I am sure the 2nd poster had no idea it was up. We can't know EVERY post that ever came up here. Are we expected to?

For some reason, the person who put up the previous post, started bragging on how many viewers and comments she had on hers. Today she stated mine is inferior. I don't get why someone would do that. I went to her blog to check it out and saw that her view was he was innocent until proven guilty. That's fair to believe that. She is very much entitled to her beliefs. I don't agree in Bill Cosby's case, due to the sheer number of accusers, some of which seem very reputable to me (ex: Mrs. Ladd that doesn't want money or anything else.). Anyhow I put my answer on her blog and responded to something someone else wrote. I copied and pasted it on mine, only because she referred to her previous post on my blog. It was my reply to her comment. For some reason, she is taking it as an attack and someone on her blog today implied I copied her post. That bothers me since I did no such thing.

Anyhow the real point of this post is to say that IF I happen to blog about the same thing any of you already have, trust me, it wouldn't be intentional. I try to be original. At least my vacation pictures are safe. Sorry, trying to find some humor in this.

Something disturbing was written on my blog today

It's ironic that someone chose today to write something disturbing on one of my blog posts. I was considering writing a post about the fact that someone had said that telling I'm an erotica author was controversial. I was going to say that as long as it brings out different points of views, having issues that we don't agree about is healthy. Do we only want replies saying yes and agreeing with us, even when they actually don't think we're right? Some might want that but I want members to "Speak Your Mind", as the title of my blog states.

Today I got a comment from a member that greatly disturbed me. I had asked for first names in one of my posts and he answered and included the words "nice Swastika" in it. To me, that's an oxymoron. Nice and Swastika are two words that are opposites and don't belong together. In addition, Swastika is a hurtful symbol and one that in my eyes is a hateful word. At first I replied and then decided to delete the comment. As I said in previous posts, promoting hatred is something I choose not to have on my blog.

There is a difference between controversial topics, issues that should be debated, and saying hateful things. I've read some clearly racist remarks on this site that surprised me and disappointed me.

Warning For Grandparents and anyone watching young

There was a big tragedy in Toronto today. A 3-year-old was with his grandmother, in the grandmother's home. Her often left the with her during the day. The wandered off, left the building, and died from being out in the cold. There was a search for him but it was too late. He died.

I never had a and to my knowledge I never wandered and neither did my siblings. My boyfriend and I spoke about it and he said as a of 3 (coincidence), he wandered half a mile from home. It was summer and he was fine. The weather here is extremely cold and this wasn't so lucky.

I decided to put this up to remind grandparents watching their precious grandchildren, to be vigilant in this regard. In winter, it can truly be deadly if a wanders off. I hope nobody is offended by this. I am sure you all love your grandchildren. I just wanted to alert you. The grandmother is heartbroken about what happened and it's a tragedy that I hope I never read about again.

What's your first name?

My name is Elaine and when I answer someone who is kind enough to respond to my blog posts, I prefer using their first names. The problem is that I don't know most of your real first names. I'd like to offer a suggestion. When we reply to a post, we put our first names if it isn't already automatically there. I noticed my replies show my name but for those that don't, I hope you put it in your response. Of course, it's up to you if you don't want people to know your real name, it's not a requirement.

I should add that I would have asked you to list your names here, but honestly, I wouldn't remember your answers. lol
