When I started blogging here, I put up one of my erotic stories. I got insulted and my story was banned. That's ancient history. The only reason I bring it up, is because one of the reasons I was given as to why erotica didn't belong here, was because some of you let your grandchildren look at the site with them. Those who are fighting here get downright nasty. Think about this, would you be proud if your or grandchildren read your posts or comments? Just like you don't want them reading erotica, you shouldn't want them reading such posts/comments.

As I said before, I do see the glass as half full but that doesn't mean that the fighting doesn't get to me. Do any of you even remember why you are fighting to begin with? I've seen people attacked due to who they are married to or even the nature of the marriage. People, is it really any of your business what goes on in other people's houses? I don't care if you are in your 50s or 60s or 70s or older. Everyone should treat ALL ages with respect. Look in the mirror. Are you proud of what you've turned into on this site? There are so many wonderful people who left your site. I found that out since joining SFF at FB. Your bickering has lost countless great people. I have had issues here too but I try to deal with them and move on. I have done that with a few people here. Some of you have had these fights since I began blogging and probably years before. Insults hurtling back and forth does nothing for anyone. Today, I saw so many nasty blogs, it was hard to find a decent one. It shouldn't be like that.

Work TOGETHER and if you have an issue with someone, try to get their e-mail addresses. Even better, did any of you ever consider apologizing and making up? Set GOOD examples for your grandchildren.

Some suggestions: open up a chat room and get the air cleared or let everyone start over with a fresh slate putting all the anger behind you. Is that possible? Are you enjoying fighting?

I'll probably get attacked for this post but I had to give it a try. If it were up to me, I would have each of you say what you are angry about and try to end your fights. How would you rectify things if your had issues with their friends? There should NEVER be personal attacks about someone's intelligence, family, education, weight or countless other things. If you weren't seniors, to quote the late Joan Rivers, I'd say "Oh, grow up"! to those who are keeping these arguments alive for so long.

Lastly, like I've said throughout, there are wonderful people here and even more wonderful people who would come back if SFF would be nourishing and not so much fighting. The good people keep us here but the negativity may make some leave. That would be sad.

AN UPLIFTING STORY!!!

Today hasn't been a great day on the blogs, from what I've seen. Blog after blog has been on the nasty side. I decided to look for something to lift our spirits, including mine. The first site I found about good news, had nothing dated past 2013. That's rather worrisome. Thankfully, I found this elsewhere:

"Chang Suibin is extremely thankful after he was saved by twenty people who noticed he was trapped under a bus in China's Henan province. Passengers from the bus and pedestrians waiting at nearby traffic lights rallied together to lift the bus off of Chang and pull him out of harms way."

Do you have an uplifting story you'd like to share?

MONICA LEWINSKY IS BACK!!! - CYBERBULLYING HAS TO STOP!!!

Even though I'm Canadian and totally not into politics, I know who Monica Lewinsky is. You have to have been hidden under a rock, to not know about her. She has been delivering talks on cyberbullying and she sends a powerful message:

“For nearly two decades now, we have slowly been sowing the seeds of shame and public humiliation in our cultural soil,” Lewinsky said. “Gossip Web sites, paparazzi, reality programming, politics, news outlets and sometimes hackers traffic in shame. Public humiliation as a blood sport has to stop. We need to return to a long-held value of compassion and empathy.”

She also said:

"Sure, the anonymity of the Internet makes it incredibly easy to say whatever you want about virtually anyone. That cloak of anonymity frees you from the responsibility of owning your allegation, providing proof or doing something as simple as coming face-to-face — even electronically — with the person you are sliming."

Monica Lewinsky is right. Cyberbullying is a terrible thing. It can cause irreparable damage. Some have committed suicide from it. I remember reading about Amanda Tood, a young girl that killed herself because of it. It is all too easy to malign someone when you're not help accountable. Sadly, I have to add, there is certainly some cyberbullying to a degree on this site.

HEALTH MATTERS REGARDING SENIORS

I don't really like talking about health, but I decided this is important. I can't talk about the health care system in the USA, but here in Canada there are some issues regarding seniors. The government is either encouraging or the doctors are doing it on their own, I'm not sure which, less preventative measures for seniors. My father died because he didn't have a colonoscopy. My mother can't get a requisition for a mammogram due to her age. Her doctor refused. I spoke to the hospital and they said that all healthy adults of all ages, should be tested.

Now as far as colonoscopies, there are more risks for older people. I am not saying to do any procedures without finding out the risks. It's up to you to decide what to do. I am not recommending anything and even if I did, I'm not qualified. I will say that if you are physically capable of doing the tests and if the worst happens, doing what's needed to be fine, you should decide if you should do the procedure. My dad would have been alive had he had a colonoscopy. I know women in their 80s that died from breast cancer due to not having mammograms any longer.

My boyfriend told me he's seen the same with other older people. The government doesn't want to spend their resources on the elderly. That is wrong on many levels. You must be your own doctor and make sure that what you need done, gets done!!!

Men are from Mars, Women are from Venus

Remember the book by John Gray "Men Are from Mars, Women Are from Venus? Do you agree with the author?

Men Are from Mars, Women Are from Venus Quotes:

“When a man can listen to a woman's feelings without getting angry and frustrated, he gives her a wonderful gift. He makes it safe for her to express herself. The more she is able to express herself, the more she feels heard and understood, and the more she is able to give a man the loving trust, acceptance, appreciation, admiration, approval, and encouragement that he needs.”

“Men are motivated when they feel needed while women are motivated when they feel cherished.”

“‎" when men and women are able to respect and accept their differences then love has a chance to blossom ”

“If I seek to fulfill my own needs at the expense of my partner, we are sure to experience unhappiness, resentment, and conflict. The secret of forming a successful relationship is for both partners to win.”

Women love to shop, men hate to shop - True or False?

I have often heard men say that women love to shop. I don't think that's true. Some do of course and that's fine. I have never been one that enjoys shopping for clothes. I love electronics so that's the only shopping I've ever enjoyed. I still remember when I was young and went downtown with my mom and sister. I would escape from looking at clothes and they would find me at the toy dept.

Do you love to shop? I hope both sexes respond to this.

TERRIBLE THING I READ ON THE INTERNET TODAY

This is 2015, and things supposedly have come a long way since the time Rosa Parks in 1955 was ordered to give up her seat in a bus for a white person, and rightly refused. What I read today was disgusting:

Employees at several Texan businesses have found stickers saying "exclusively for white people" placed on their windows, sparking an investigation into their origin and condemnation from the mayor.

Austin Mayor Steve Adler said the stickers discovered Wednesday morning were "an appalling and offensive display of ignorance in our city."

The stickers also say "Maximum of 5 colored customers / colored BOH staff accepted," apparently referring to the "back of house" operations at a restaurant. They featured a city of Austin logo and claimed to be "sponsored by the City of Austin Contemporary Partition and Restoration Program," though no such program exists.

I just felt it was something that needed to be posted. Sorry for it being post#2 today from me.

Have a great weekend!!!

SHOULDN'T A WOMAN BE ABLE TO PROPOSE MARRIAGE TO A MAN?

I read an article about Bradley Cooper, the actor, yesterday. Something bothered me about it. It said:

"It's up to Bradley to pop the question, of course, but she hopes it happens soon,"

That got me thinking. Is it always up to the guy to pop the question? It reminds me of the old fashioned way, that a woman had to be asked to dance by a guy. Haven't things changed at all?

What are your thoughts about this? I think there is a fear of rejection that she may propose and he'll refuse? Fair enough, but don't men have that same fear? Not all marriage proposals are accepted, are they? If they were, they wouldn't be called proposals.

Double Standards

There are definitely double standards regarding females versus males. Here is a list I found of the top 5 things that women are looked down on for, when men aren't: for the same things:

1. Having "too many" sexual partners. While no-one's "number" should matter, the sexual double standard is alive and well. Men who sleep around are "studs," but women who do the same are "sluts." What's more, a disturbing study found that women labelled "promiscuous" were rejected by their male and female peers, which is all kinds of messed up.

2. Having a messy home. Though an estimated 81 percent of men and 87 percent of women report feeling anxious about home upkeep, women still do the majority of the housework. Why? Because women are judged much more harshly than men for having a messy home. We like the attitude HuffPost blogger Claire McCarthy shared in her Feb. 25 post: "We have more important things to do. If there is some time left over after we talk, eat together, play together and finish this really great book, we'll clean. If not, well, it can wait."

3. Being overweight. Though both men and women experience fat prejudice, studies have found that overweight women feel more societal pressure to lose weight than overweight men.

4. Being blunt or assertive. A woman who speaks her mind too much is deemed bossy, aggressive or arrogant -- whereas a mouthy dude is simply showcasing his executive leadership skills.

5. Not having . Childfree women are often referred to as "selfish" and told they will regret their decision not to have . Because what kind of unnatural woman would never want to be a mother? Men get no such flak -- being a dad isn't considered to be an essential part of manhood. Plus, men have way more time to decide if they want ! (But they still have biological clocks, too.)

What do you think of double standards and have you noticed others not on the list? I haven't done too well on the top 5 list myself. Thankfully, my boyfriend feels that women should have the same standards as men. That's why I love him.

There is something I want to mention that is unrelated to this topic. ET wrote on someone's blog yesterday that one should only put one (or 2?) posts a day out of courtesy. I'm banned from that post so I couldn't reply to her comment there. I can only watch that post. I don't get what ET wrote for 2 reasons. One, I've seen others post many times a day, including ET on rare occasions. Secondly, I wrote a post about what is blog etiquette for this site. I didn't want to offend anyone and the overwhelming answer was there were no rules. Nobody said anything about one or two posts maximum a day. ET, if you read this, please clarify. I want you to know I would have just answered on the other post, had I been allowed to. This in no way is intended to offend you in any way. I just want to understand.

WANT TO BE FRIENDS?

I just realized that I have no friends on SFF. No, I don't mean that I am not friends with anyone here. I mean officially, I just realized I have no friends. It says I have 1 friend but when I click, nobody shows up. I guess that means my only friend is myself. That's a lonely feeling.

I discovered this today, when I went to someone's blog and it said only friends can comment. That's when I went to check and saw my situation. I'd be pleased if someone would request my friendship so I'd know he/she would like to be friends officially. Thank you.
