WHERE AND WHAT WAS THE BEST FOOD YOU EVER ATE?

There are TV shows about the best food that famous chefs have eaten. Their palates are more sophisticated than most of ours. I'd like to know where you had the best food of your life and what was it that you ate.

There is a restaurant in Toronto called Lee. It is owned by Susur Lee. He is a world renowned chef and his food is very unique. The flavors are incomparable. His signature Singapore Slaw and other dishes like his Top Chef prize dish of green curry chicken (I don't even usually like curry) is great. The striploin steak Korean style is also wonderful. Even the crème brule dessert is fantastic. Don't go there expecting to get to meet him though. He isn't the friendliest guy. He wouldn't even come over to our table, despite the fact we've been there often enough to be recognized by the waiters.

I will say that in Europe, our favorite restaurant was in Paris. Le Grand Colbert was magnifique. Inside the restaurant, there was a scene shot for the movie "Something's Gotta Give"; which starred Diane Keaton and Jack Nicholson. The food and the atmosphere were both excellent and very Parisien. Ok it's YOUR turn.

WHAT DOES YOUR NAME MEAN?

I put this up THREE times over 2 DAYS but it has yet to show up. Here it is again:

The new royal princess has FINALLY been named, Her Royal Highness Princess Charlotte Elizabeth Diana of Cambridge. Charlotte to honor Prince Charles, Elizabeth for the Queen and Diana for her late grandmother. Now a name is important, as that is what you will be called the rest of your life.

Elaine is a French form of the Greek name Helen, which is a variant of the Ancient Greek name Helene. The meaning of Helene is disputed as it may have been derived from the ancient Greek word meaning "torch" or the Greek word selene meaning "moon."

So, I guess it means I carry a torch.

Do you care about the meaning of your name? Let us know what it means. When you had , did you try to name them something meaningful or did you go by the names you like?

I put up a post that "IT'S A GIRL" disappeared from my own blog list. I then heard from SFF. They took down my post because it had a in it. Now I need someone to explain to me how they could object to pictures of the new princess, which is up all over the news. Also, there are pictures of posted on some member's posts, including grandchildren. I like seeing those pics. What could they possibly have against them? I may have to remove some of the pics, to put my post back up (if I could find the post) but I hope some of you write SFF to tell them what you think of this foolish rule. I certainly did. Thanks.

UPDATE:

I reposted my "IT'S A GIRL" post. I found it when I did a search for "GIRL" in my blog. I deleted 2 pics of the new princess but for some reason, the first one hasn't been removed. I can't try again because when I click to edit it, it's not showing up. Strange.

Kate and William are now the proud parents of another , a GIRL!!! As reported:

The Duke of Cambridge is present as the royal princess is delivered at 8.34am, weighing 8lbs 3oz.

UPDATE:

Due to the lack of proper judgment from SFF admin, they removed this post due to baby pictures. I removed a couple of pictures of the new baby. We'll see if it gets and stays up. I removed the first baby pic but it's still showing up for some reason.

Lulu said that I alienated men with one of my cartoons, in my other SFF Book Club post. I assume she meant the one about the men's book club. I removed that cartoon. Let's hear your opinions. Men, were you really offended by that cartoon?

WHAT NAME WOULD YOU GIVE THE ROYAL BABY?

The world is waiting for Kate to give birth. What name will they give him/her? It seems that the name Diana is unlikely if the baby is a girl. The article I read the other day said, she would be compared too much to her late grandmother. I think that's wrong. It would be a tribute to Diana and she deserves that honor. What do you think?

I hope the predictions are correct and this baby (who is past due) is a girl. Should the be a boy, what name would be best? I like the name Michael.

Pictures below are in front of the Lindo Wing, where many Royal babies were born including Princes William and Harry. The hospital suite where she'll be staying is like a 5 star hotel.

I put this up earlier but to my knowledge, it never showed on the recent blog list. I tried putting a comment but that didn't help. I tried clicking update and that didn't do a thing either. I wrote customer service and they always think we're not seeing what's there. Those who looked at my blog posts saw it but that's it. So, here it is again:

I should read more but when I have free time, I work on my erotica books. The other day I changed 2 book covers. It's an ongoing job that sometimes reaps little reward. Time will tell.

When I was younger, I loved reading Cynthia Freeman books. It made me want to move to San Francisco. I read Arthur Hailey and Jeffrey Archer's Kane and Abel. The thing about books is, you become so involved in the lives of the characters that for me anyhow, I get depressed when a book is finished. I miss the people I read about.

What book are you reading now? What's your favorite book of all time? What books would you recommend other members of SFF to read? Should you want to start a discussion on any book, please feel free to do so here.

DO YOU LOVE CHOCOLATES?

I won't deny that I do love chocolates. I limit how many I eat on any given day because it's not the best thing for health. That said, some compare good chocolates to good you-know-what.

I decided to look up the best chocolates in Toronto. I'm going to buy some this coming Friday. They look so interesting. I'll put up some pictures from their website. Soma Chocolatemaker is their name. For those who have bought from them, let me know what you think. I don't know if they are good so I'm not recommending purchasing from them. I also don't have anything to do with this company, in case you're wondering. Their chocolates look unique and they were rated #1, when I googled. Their products (they have a ton of things including truffles) are quite expensive.

Are any of you chocoholics? What's your favorite treat?

Here are pics of some of their truffles:

Picture 1: Lemon Meringue Pie (yes, it's a truffle)
Pucker Up, Lemon sings the high citrus notes, white chocolate provides the creamy sweet base. Rolled in feuilletine for a crunchy outer crust.

Pic 2: Milk Almond cluster
Layers of praline and Gianduja (hazelnut milk chocolate) topped with slow roasted almonds. Enrobed in milk chocolate.

Pic 3: Caramel Kiss
Caramel and milk chocolate ganache, sweet and creamy.

Pic 4: Douglas Fir
A fruity chocolate from the Dominican Republic infused with the natural oils of the Douglas Fir tree. Think of eating chocolate in the middle of a Canadian Pine forest.

This is from an article I just read:

"A Waitress Didn't Know Her Customer Was Listening, And Broke Down In Tears When She Saw This"

It seems she was missing her and a customer overheard. He gave her a $200 tip so she could visit him. How sweet is that?
