“Pleasant words are as honeycomb, sweet to the mind and healing to the body” (Proverbs 16:24).

Do you look for good things to say about yourself and others? Are you speaking pleasant words? The Bible tells us that pleasant words are healing to the body. Do you need healing in your body–physically? Spiritually? Emotionally? Your words can bring that healing. Start speaking pleasant words–words of life, encouragement, and thanksgiving. Guard your heart by making sure you are only listening to pleasant, life-giving words. If there’s something on the TV or radio that isn’t bringing life to your soul, turn it off. If someone’s having a conversation that’s not uplifting or productive, don’t be a part of it. Choose to meditate on God’s Word which, according to Hebrews, is living and active and full of pleasant words. As you choose life by choosing life-giving words, you’ll see God’s healing operating in your life. You’ll feel strength and peace in your soul, and you will move forward into the abundant life God has in store for you!

A Prayer for Today

Father in Heaven, thank You for Your word which is truth that sets me free. I repent today for any words that have brought destruction into my life or the lives of those around me. I ask that You uproot every negative seed that is contrary to Your Word. I choose words of life today that I may glorify You. In Jesus’ Name. Amen.

“If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive our sins and cleanse us from all unrighteousness” (I John 1:9).

Do you need a fresh start today? Even as believers in Jesus, we all make mistakes and wrong choices. The Bible says that all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God. But the good news is that we don’t have to stay separated from God in our sin. God wants us to come to Him so He can forgive and cleanse us and give us a fresh start. No matter what happened yesterday, or even five minutes ago, God is waiting for you with open arms. Don’t let the enemy condemn you and lie to you today. God is not mad at you. He loves you and longs to restore everything in your life. Confess your sins to God and allow Him to cleanse you today. Choose to forgive others so that you can receive God’s forgiveness. Ask the Holy Spirit to keep you close so that you can live a life pleasing to Him. As you draw close to God, He will draw close to you and show His great love and blessing all the days of your life!

A Prayer for Today

Heavenly Father, thank You for receiving me just as I am. Today I confess my sins to You and ask You to cleanse me. I choose to forgive others so that You can forgive me. Keep me close so that I can live a life that is pleasing to You. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.

“If anyone has this world’s resources and sees his brother and fellow believer in need, yet closes his heart of compassion against him, how can the love of God live and remain in him? Let us not love merely in theory or in speech, but in deed and in truth” (I John 3:17-18

You are the hands and feet of Jesus in the earth. The Lord wants to bless you today so that you can be a blessing to others. He wants to work through you to show His love and compassion. Notice this verse tells us that love isn’t just about our words or thoughts, it’s about our actions. Love is about reaching out and meeting the needs of others. Sometimes meeting someone’s needs is as simple as a smile or sharing a word of encouragement. There are many ways to show the love of God. Can you pay for someone’s gas or groceries? Do you see a need in someone’s life that you can meet? Look for ways to put your love into action. The Bible says that it’s His kindness that leads people to repentance, and the Lord wants to show His kindness in the earth through you. Step out and sow good seeds of love by meeting the needs of others. God promises that those seeds will produce an abundant harvest in your life in return!

A Prayer for Today

Heavenly Father, thank You for Your hand of blessing in my life. Thank You for choosing to work through me today. I submit myself and my resources to You. Show me ways to be a blessing to others so that the earth will be filled with the knowledge of Your glory. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.

Guard Your Mouth

“He who guards his mouth keeps his life, but he who opens wide his lips comes to ruin” Proverbs 13:3

We’ve all said things we wish we could take back. Maybe you weren’t literally in a life or death situation, but I believe every word we speak has power. Our words determine the direction of our lives. The Bible tells us that life and death are in the power of the tongue. There’s no neutral ground. We are either sowing seeds of life and productivity with our words, or we are sowing seeds of ruin and destruction with our words. Today is a good day to take inventory of your words and make the decision to sow only good seeds with your words. Sow seeds of life by speaking God’s Word over your own life and the lives of those around you. Ask the Holy Spirit to teach you to consider every word before you say it. Make the decision today that your words will bring glory to Lord. As you guard your mouth, you will “keep” your life. You’ll see increase in every area and enjoy the blessing the Lord has in store for you!

A Prayer for Today

Heavenly Father, I submit this day to You. I give You my every thought, word and action. Help me, Holy Spirit, to live a life pleasing to the Father in every way. Help me speak words of blessing to edify those around me today. In Jesus’ Name. Amen.

Seek Love

“The Lord does not look at the things man looks at. Man looks at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart” I Samuel 16.7

Is there someone in your life who has wronged or offended you? Maybe it was intentional, or maybe they don't even know they've hurt you. No matter what the circumstance, as believers, we are called to forgive. When we forgive, we seek love, and the Bible says that God is love. If we don't forgive, we are turning in the opposite direction--away from God. Choosing forgiveness doesn't excuse the other person's behavior. It simply releases the debt they owe you so that God can release the debt you owe Him. Forgiveness opens the door so that you can be free! I've heard it said that forgiveness is giving up hope for a better past. Choose today to let go of the past and look towards the future. Seek love by choosing forgiveness. And once you do, as the verse says, don't bring up the issue anymore. Move forward and let God be your vindicator. Remember, He promises to take what the enemy meant for evil and turn it around for your good! Seek love today. Seek forgiveness and choose to step into the abundant future God has in store for you!

A Prayer for Today

Heavenly Father, today I seek love by choosing forgiveness. I open my heart to You today and ask You to heal my hurts. I look forward to the future yYou have for me. Help me be a testimony of yYour love and forgiveness to those around me today. In Jesus' Name. Amen.

BE FREE TO FORGIVE!

"God is a just God and He will repay the exact compensation owed you. He will settle and solve the cases of his people." (Hebrews 10:30)

Are you dealing with an "unsolved case" from your past that needs resolution? Are you waiting for your day of justice or repayment?

God promises in His Word that He is our vindicator. He is our defender. He will settle your case and repay everything the enemy has stolen. But in order to allow Christ to settle your debts, you have to release your concerns to Him and forgive those who have wronged you. You have to allow Jesus to take on the debt they owe you, in the same way that He took on your debt for sin. That's true forgiveness‒freeing others, so that you can be free.

As you walk and live in forgiveness, you show that you trust in God to repay you and He will honor your faith in Him!

A Prayer for Today

God, I believe in complete restoration in every area of my life! That starts with letting go of the past and forgiving those who have wronged me. I forgive them, Father, and I praise You for taking on my debt. In Jesus' name, Amen.

"Be bold, be strong, for the Lord is with you" Joshua 1:9

Today's Word from Joel and Victoria

No matter what today has in store, as a believer, you can approach the day with boldness and confidence. Why? Because the Lord is with you, and in Him is everything you need in this life. That means that if you need provision for something today, provision is with you. If you need wisdom today, wisdom is with you. If you need strength, joy, or peace today, it's with you. You can be confident today knowing that all of your needs are supplied spiritually, physically, and emotionally because the Lord is with you. And best of all, He's promised never to leave you. Don't let lies from the enemy or pressure from the world keep you from taking hold of everything the Lord has for you. Open your heart by faith and receive whatever you need today. Step out in boldness and strength because the Lord is with you!

A Prayer for Today

Heavenly Father, thank You for loving me today. Thank You for Your faithfulness. Thank You for being closer to me than the air I breathe. I receive Your promises today in faith and confidence. I cast all of my cares on You and set my heart on You today. In Jesus' Name. Amen.

Faith Comes By Hearing

“Faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the Word of God” Romans 10:17

Do you want more faith in your life? Well, the good news is that your faith in God can grow and increase. Notice the scripture doesn’t say, “Faith comes by having heard the Word of God one time.” It’s hearing–in the present tense. Sure, God’s Word can transform us in an instant, but most of the time, we need to hear God’s principals over and over again before they become active in our lives. The Truth of God’s Word chisels away at the doubt and unbelief that’s been built up over the years. God’s Truth sets us free and sets His plan for our lives in motion. Just as a seed needs water daily to grow, your spirit needs the Word of God daily. The more you hear God’s promises, the more you know Him, the more you will be able to believe Him! I encourage you today to select a few scriptures to meditate on daily. Write them down and carry them in your purse or wallet. The more you hear the Word of God, the more your faith will grow and you will move forward into the life of victory God has in store!

A Prayer for Today

Father in Heaven, thank you for Word that is living and active and growing in my life. I submit myself to you today and ask you to teach me your ways. Give me insight into your Word so that I may know you. In Jesus’ Name. Amen.

WHO WILL SEE GOD?

“Who will go up to the holy mountain? Who will see God? Those with clean hands and a pure heart…” Psalm 24:3-4

Thank God for the blood of Jesus that gives us clean hands and purifies us from all unrighteousness! But notice, in order to see God, we have to have a pure heart. We have to choose to submit our hearts to God and allow Him to purify us on the inside. We have to constantly guard our heart and not allow junk to come in and contaminate us. How do you guard your heart? Be selective about what you see and what you watch on TV. If you don’t want to become like the people you see on TV, you shouldn’t watch them! If you don’t want to end up like the people singing those songs on the radio, you shouldn’t listen to them. If you don’t want to end up like the people in the magazines, you shouldn’t read them. What you give your attention to will shape your heart and character. Give your attention to the Word of God. Give your attention to worship. Open your heart to the Father and ask Him to purify you by His Holy Spirit. As you do, you will ascend higher and higher and just as the verse promises, you will see God!

A Prayer for Today

Heavenly Father, I want to see You. Open the eyes of my heart. Purify me and cleanse my heart. Help me make the right choices so that I can honor you today and always. May the words of my mouth and the meditations of my heart be pleasing to you. In Jesus’ Name. Amen.

LINE UP YOUR HEART

“The Lord does not look at the things man looks at. Man looks at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart” I Samuel 16.7

When the Lord looks at your heart, what does He see? Every one has an outer life and an inner life. The outer life is our public life that everyone can see. The inner life is made up of your thoughts, your attitudes and your motives. Only you and God know what’s going on inside. Too many people go around today pretending–acting one way, yet on the inside, they’re thinking something totally different. Their heart and their actions don’t line up. We have to understand that God looks at the inside. We can fool a lot of people, but we can’t fool God. God would rather us be open and honest than for us to go through life pretending or wearing masks. Take inventory of what’s going on inside of you today. Are you at peace? Are you overlooking offenses? Do you believe the best in people? Are your heart and actions lining up? If not, submit your ways to the Lord today and ask Him to give you an undivided heart so that you can be pleasing to Him all the days of your life!

A Prayer for Today

Dear Father, I humbly come before You today and ask that You search the deep places of my heart. Show me if there is any area where I need to line up my heart and actions. Help me to be authentic in You today. In Jesus Name. Amen.
