My mind in company with clouds
Floats away to far-flung horizon
Towards infinite void
Along with the music of falling rains of Shraban
Rim-jhim, Rim-jhim, Rim-jhim.
"মন মোর মেঘের সঙ্গী,
উড়ে চলে দিগ্দিগন্তের পানে
নিঃসীম শূন্যে শ্রাবণবর্ষণসঙ্গীতে
রিমিঝিম রিমিঝিম রিমিঝিম॥
."
Here in this valley time becomes obsolete and words redundant! Sajek Valley is our true abode in the clouds that looks like an imaginary haven! Here, a visitor can touch the clouds floating around him! This wonderful valley is located in the hilly religion of south-eastern part of my homeland, Bangladesh.

"With humans in lockdown, animals seem reclaiming what is rightfully theirs as well."
Yes, it is true!
I presume that some of you might have seen the pictures of the wandering animals posted internet by now. There are many such images taken by humans throughout the planet earth recently preserve them for posterity!
The pictures appended show that the earth is surely rejuvenating gradually when we, the humans are staying inside our dwellings and trying find a weapon annihilate a tiny invisible enemy that might have probably escaped from one of human's bio labs and now mutating and multiplying!
Perhaps, we have by now learnt something wonderful from this primitive, invisible tiny lifeform that is now controlling our behavior, the most powerful, arrogant evolved lifeform on earth, be humble and share this blue planet with other species who have equal rights live, discover and wander the entire land mass peacefully.

The tiniest, primitive, invisible life form!

People started joking about the eating habits of humans living in a particular region of our planet soon after the outbreak of coronavirus disease, COVID-, in Wuhan, the sprawling capital of Central China’s Hubei province in December, last year. Here below is one such joke which sums up everything:
“Somebody ate something in China and the entire world is washing their hands”
Unfortunately, the outbreak is no longer a subject of the joke. It has since been declared a pandemic which has closed the entire planet Earth.
We now know what does the word “lockdown” really means. Most of us belonging to the - groups are exercising self-quarantine. Some humans capable of hoarding essentials have emptied the shelf of super shops throughout the world and stockpiled the same in the storerooms of their homes fearing that the "lockdown" would not end soon though the American President expects that the situation would be over next Easter Sunday. Maybe, he can foretell the future. But not others like us.
We may now go back to the joke mentioned above. People of the world are no longer joking about Covid for obvious reason!
It has since been rewritten an anonymous as appended:
“The ultimate irony of life…
The tiniest, primitive, invisible life form is now controlling the behavior of the most arrogant, powerful, and evolved lifeform on earth!
What a lesson for humans to be humble!”

A Banal Story

An abrupt encounter in a railway coach!
This banal story is being re posted hereunder for someone who wanted to read it again!
It did not take them much time to recognize each other while traveling in the compartment of the intercity train. However, they preferred to remain silent until it was almost time for her to get off the train at the next station. She continued to gaze casually through the window at the fast vanishing blue sky until she slowly asked him;
“The days we spent together that are now gone, have we lost them all?”
The question took him long back down the memory lane and he could not respond to her instantly! He waited some minutes and then uttered slowly the unforgettable line that he read long before in her last letter to him:
“All the stars that shine in the night, they get lost in the daylight!”
She got off the train when the train finally stopped at the next station without telling a word to him and he continued his journey to his destination, unsure about the reaction of his answer to her.

Kenya’s Last Female White Giraffe!

Kenya’s only Female White Giraffe is no more!
The locals living in Garissa in eastern Kenya have since found the bodies of the last female white giraffe and her calf killed by the heartless armed poachers. This happens to be a major blow for the rare animals found nowhere else in the world.
Words are not enough for condemning the action of these heartless and inhuman armed poachers. The Culprits should be traced and punished by the Kenyan Government.
We can only mourn the Death of these two Kenya's rare white giraffes with the Kenyans!

'Dignity is not negotiable. Dignity is the honor of the family.'
----Vartan Gregorian (born April 8, 34 in Tabriz, Iran). An Armenian born in Iran, Gregorian moved to the United States at 22. He graduated with dual PhD from Stanford University.
One morning at a
Law College, when a new teacher for "Introduction to Rights" entered the classroom, the first thing he did was to ask the name of a student who was seated on the first bench: "What is your name?"
" name is Juan, Sir."
"Leave the classroom and I don't want to ever see you in class ever!" screamed the unpleasant teacher.
Juan was bewildered. When he got hold of his senses, he got up quickly, collected his belongings and left the classroom.
All were scared and angry; however nobody spoke anything.
"Well, let's start the class," said the new teacher. "What purpose do the enacted laws serve?"
We were afraid, but slowly gained confidence and we began to answer his questions.
"So that there is order in our society."
"No!" the teacher shouted.
"So that people their wrong actions?"
"No! Doesn't anybody here have enough brains to know the answer to this question?!" asked the teacher, sarcastically.
"So that there is justice," said a girl timidly.
"At last! One person who is not a complete moron! That's correct.... so that there is justice. And now, what is the use of justice?"
All of us were extremely uneasy with his rude attitude. However, we continued trying to answer....
"To safeguard human rights."
"Well, what more?" asked the teacher.
"To differentiate right from wrong and to reward the good."
"Ok, that's not bad. However, answer this question: Did I act correctly when expelling Juan from the classroom?"
All were quiet, nobody answered.
"I want a decisive and unanimous answer!" he shouted.
"No!" we all replied in unison.
"Then could you say I committed an injustice?"
"Yes!"
Then his voice softened and he asked, "And why did nobody do anything in that respect? So why do we need rules and laws if we don't have the necessary will to practice them? Each one of you has an obligation to do something when you witness an injustice. ALL of you! Do not stay quiet, never again! Go and call Juan," he said staring at me.
On that day, I received the most practical lesson in course of Law. When we don't defend our rights, we lose our dignity, and dignity is not negotiable.

The Flight of Kiswa, the small wild dabbling Duck!

Kiswa has since completed a monumental trip flying nearly 3500 kms all the way from Tanguar Haor, Bangladesh to China and back to Bangladesh again.
Tanguar Haor is a unique wetland ecosystem located in the eastern Bangladesh (#3 Photo).
Kiswa is the name given to the small wild dabbling female duck of the Garganey species (#1 Photo) that was fitted with a GPS/GSM satellite tag on February 5, this year as part of a program conducted by International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN), Bangladesh and Linnaeus University in Sweden in collaboration with Bangladesh Forest Department (BFD) and Bangladesh Bird Club.
It is one of the 44 wild long-distant migratory ducks that were tagged during the ‘wild bird monitoring program’ conducted for a large part of the previous winter in Tanguar Haor and other wetlands of Bangladesh.
One may see the migratory route of Kiswa in the map posted bellow (#6 Photo).
The duck flew over the Himalayas which could be seen clearly in the map! The duck is now back in Bangladesh after spending its entire summer time on Senie Lake at Quinhai, China.
It may also be added here that some of the other 43 ducks fitted with the satellite tag have made the return trip to Bangladesh like Kiswa and the remaining ducks are presumed to be making the return trip!

France, Natural and Eternal: A Photographer’s Journey

In last March, Shibly Shiraj went to France accompanied by his lovely wife for a week-long tour. Soon after arriving there, he rented a car and in no time drove on the highways and the country roads of France. The journey took the two to France’s north coast to the south and from the sea to the mountains.
Shibly Shiraj took up photography as a hobby when he was 40 years old. The art of Photography enticed him so much so that he has now become a professional Photographer.
Needless to say, while traveling around France, Shiraj took pictures of everything that attracted his attention even when he was driving the rented car on the highways and the country roads of France. The journey resulted in accumulation of a large trove of amazing photographs.
Returning back home, Shibly Shiraj arranged a solo photography exhibition titled ‘France, Natural and Eternal: A Photographer’s Journey' at Alliance Française de Dhaka (AFD) which was open to all till August , 2019 last.
Shibly said about the exhibition,“the eye of the camera can capture more than what we see with our naked eyes. The success of a person with a camera depends somewhat on how much more he or she can the fleeting glimpse of the scene. I always aspire new dimension in photographic endeavors. In doing so I’m most attracted the nature itself. It is not the beauty of the nature but also the diversity of such beauty and its place in the mind of the masses entice . We all appreciate nature but the phenomenon nature also defines us sometimes escapes us. The pulchritude of nature has attracted the painters, especially the French impressionists found a new way, a dimension per see, in depicting it.”
I have seen Shibly growing up gradually to manhood since his birth. He has shared with me all the 43 pictures that were included in the exhibition. Here below, ten of the photographs are posted for those who believe like Shibly “that the nature must remain at the core of human existence”.

Profiling Individuals and Voters!

---Indian Supreme court Justice A K Sikri said while delivering verdict on constitutionality of Aadhaar on behalf of Chief Justice Dipak Misra, Justice A M Khanwilkar and himself. He further observed that Aadhaar has "empowered marginalized sections of the society by giving them identity!”
Aadhaar is the world's largest Biometric ID system. The Aadhar number is a 12-digit random number issued by the Unique Identification Authority of India to the residents after satisfying the verification process laid down by the Authority.
However, some Indian Civil Liberty Groups and Social Action Forums have been opposing the project over privacy concerns.
Justice D Y Chandrachud said, Aadhaar violates the privacy of rights as it could possibly lead to profiling of persons and voters.
I feel that they are right because the system has compromised privacy. At the same time, Aadhaar's positive sides must not be overlooked. I wonder how many of the readers would agree with me. Because, the system is gradually being introduced in many countries of the world in various forms. We have our own biometric Aadhaar card called Smart Card.
By the by, Aadhaar has reminded me about George Orwell's allegorical novella "Animal Farm" published in England on August 17, 1945.
