Today, wanders aimlessly,
in a valley of dread.
Waiting on life's destiny,
that's nowhere to be led

Tomorrow, is the same,
seen in this context.
That today is only tomorrow
On life's journey to the next.

Mirage is a journey's destination,
a road untraveled, unknown.
For each step along the way,
determines a fate of it's own.

Destiny, the one that waits,
knows secrets not revealed.
The destinations have no fates,
Yet journeys haven't concealed.

I lost my original handle, no password, could not get Sff to reset. the only place i have kept my poetry is on this site. So I need to repost to on my new handle.

This is the first poem I ever wrote......

Oh, how you could make my heart smile
The light in your eyes, the excitement in your voice.
I thought how lucky I am, all the while
I told you I loved you, and meant every word
You told me you loved me, and that's what I heard.

We were two mules butting heads, stubborn in many ways.
But together we could fight the world and make for better days.
You knew we wouldn't be wealthy, and I think that was ok
But, a respectable family you'd have, no matter what to pay.

It happened in a moment that would change your life forever.
You realized you needed a respectable husband
to complete your life's endeavor.
For is it not true, what others choose to see
If they're not envious of you, why would you need me

Forget the money, the house, and the car.
These aren't the things that mattered by far.
Your expectations of me, divided your heart
and damaged your soul.
Something I found I could not console.

The day you expected better of me.
The beginning of the end, fate made it's choice
No more light in your eyes, or excitement in your voice.
A heart was broken, and it was mine.
No turning back, you had crossed the line

We stopped telling each other I love you,
but I never didn't mean it.
And I thought you felt the same, never thinking I was bad
Until the day you expected better of me.
And me was all I had.

Can I wrap the sunshine
and lighten the skies
Present it to your heart
Shine it through your eyes

Rain keeps falling down
Like tears upon your face
Soaks into your heart
Finding itself a place

Whether it's a storm
depends on what you see
For hearts can teach eyes
of things that could be

Clouds are not to blame
for clouds do not reign
The sun is just behind
asking to come again

If I could wrap the sunshine
Present it to your heart
The storm may not be over
But sunshine's a start

Ponderings.......

Does the Robin sing
As the crows squawk?
Or does it try
to repeat such talk?

The crow with no civility
As the song is complicated
squawks to disturb tranquility
when the tune is unduplicated

Does the lily blush
at the site of a rose?
never smelling as sweet
Nor vibrant red, it knows

The rose and robin
should pay it no mind
for their song and perfume
are shared with every kind

Whether flying high
or planted in ground
it seems rather silly
to become a crow or a lily

I hope this isn't taken badly, it was meant for the rest of us and not to be construed as negative towards anyone.

Yesterday, I wrote another, seems to fit ,to me....maybe we need to think more in terms of love than truth.

Your truth must set you free
Locked in the chamber of a gun
A casing of righteousness
A point of honor
hard as blue steel
With no other place to go
Your truth can blow your mind
just pull the trigger

The Forest, the Trees

He sees the forest
She just the trees
beauty is the beholder
which eyes do please

He speaks of the forest
She just the trees
His beauty and blight in harmony
whilst separation she sees

Some do not belong
in the forest of the mind
trees of crooked trunks
and covered with vine

Each has it's place
as trees to forest grow
Whilst he sees no blight
That she seems to know

To understand and communicate
each one is unaware
That the trees of barren winter
Will not leave, do not care

Rose colored spectacle

Is life a painstaking journey into night
or dawning of the day, sun shining bright?
The glass half empty, or the glass half full
A wool sweater, over the eyes to pull?

The glasses you choose, "shades" of black
or rose colored spectacles, you keep intact
A royal flush, that is a mirage of mind
Or a winning hand with just one of a kind

I make my own history, which birth to death abides.
Each precious moment, a mystery, on life's train that it rides.
Rejoice in moments, they never come again.... weaving life's fabric, one of a kind.
For life is joyously unconditional, while other judgements, are just
mirages of the mind.

No matter, rain or dark of night, each moments gift , valued preciously
For it is a rose colored spectacle, the view I choose to see

Love and Life

The mermaid slips back to the sea
Now in hiding, from the sailor in me
But there she'll ponder how love goes
That life is only what she knows

Lost upon the mermaid's island
The sailor seeks the safe highland
and there he'll ponder how love goes
That life is only what he knows

Love, it may come and go
As in life, God has made it so
Each measure of joy, not meaning much
But simply defined through those you touch

For in seeking the highland, or the sea
It matters not, where love can be
If your life can touched another heart
Then your love can leave, but not depart

Cariad is having another surgery today, I hope you'll all pray with us, for her recovery.

THE SHADOW KNOWS

Born into life's light
but no shadow have we
How you cast your light
is your shadow to be

Age grows shadows
that grow with you
To cast a long shadow
There's somethings to do

Have a friend, give a smile
Do some kindness, love awhile
Be considerate, go the extra mile

Walk in someones shoes
be humble, win or lose
touch a stranger, bear good news

Always temper temperamental, never judge judgmental
Always be respectful, never be neglectful
Always be understanding, never be demanding

Good things and more
make your shadow grow
It will follow you
from head to toe

And when your time comes
Just keep this in mind.
Going to the hereafter
leaves your shadow behind

She Came Into My Room

She came into my room
Not knowing I was there
She touched my heart and soul
moved me from there to here

She left the room unchanged
that's what others seem to see
but my furniture's rearranged
In places inside of me

I'll trip over the chair
the table is now askew
the lamps go on and off
without switches to do

She left her words hanging
painting pictures of magic's night
She added color to the walls
Once seen as black and white

The hanging pictures tilt a bit
and try to find their place
but I can't seem to remember
Which way they use to face

I try to put it all straight
and forget she ever came
but there's too many reminders
And it can Never be same

Maybe she will come again
let her magic fill the air
Get be longings back in order
Re-Set my table and my chair

Until she does
I'll just have to re-cover
There's still so much to do
Love's magic to discover

Wintery Nights

I will tell of my winter night
Colors fade to black and white
Spring love of the hot and bold
Now solitary thoughts bitter cold

A blanket on a sandy beach
Finds itself out of reach
Just a comforter and a chair
Snuggled up a dream of there....

Perchance to see another Spring
Black and white becomes rainbowing
And flowers created just in thought
Become perfumed Roses and Love Me Not

Looking through a window for a return
Birds unseen, yet the heart does yearn
If someday Spring could come again
From a winter night that never ends
