You can search, for love to find you Checking out far and wide But there is no truer love Than yours, the one inside.
Find it in your favorite book A cozy blanket, a warming fire A puppy dog's inquisitive look In your heart and desire
In a baby's eyes and a 's laughter With their souls on loan for you to look after.
In the sorrow of a friend that giving a hug can cure And getting one back A friendship that's pure
To know about love doesn't require heartbreaks Discovering mistakes of love doesn't define, what it takes
Love doesn't require dues It's free magic from inside That changes colors and hues giving lies no place to hide
So look into the mirror the mirror of your heart See if love can flourish finding it ala carte.

Oceans of Love

If only I could show you, the joys that love can bring amidst the pain and sorrow, to hear the ocean sing
Like waves upon the shore, pools that ebb and flow Coming closer to where you stand, only to pull away and go
Not knowing the ebb of tide, each wave inches away Then flows to greet your toes, though planted they stay
Wanting anxiously to greet it, to plunge feet first Or wait to have it touch you, savoring the thirst.
Or fear it will reach you, then wash away the sand Too cold for toes to touch, so you reach with your hand.
Oh! to test the waters, for a temperature just right Not committing to the touch, but knowing that you might.
Maybe, you take no chances and a step back away Not wanting to touch the sea of love, not wanting to feel that way
Just close your eyes and smell the ocean, feel the breeze in your hair Hear the sea gulls speak their rhythm, sense the magic coming near
Let your heart see the hope, horizons upon the ocean Feel the tides of love, the waves set in motion.

Love in Bloom

I wrote this.. this morning. to post on the poet tree blog. I had been away awhile. But after writing it, I wanted to save it on my own blog
Love is but a solitary bloom window spied from my room Springs forth in all it's glory Yet untells the whole story
Wilted petals from Summer's heat Thorns aplenty protections feat Enduring now in it's place waiting for the Fall's grace
Winter's tale to be told Hibernating in the cold Window spied from my room Love is but, an awaiting bloom.
Moved back to Kansas, as living by the sea, was just not meant to be. No search is ever quite the same, if we don't remember from whence we came. No matter where I make my home, not far from the tree, do I roam. and coming back can be so grand, with heart on my sleeve and pen in my hand

Do I have a purpose? Like the moon in the sky Like the stars above Like a baby's cry
Like the flowers in bloom what the ocean tide wills Like the clouds Or like the daffodils
Like the mountains majestic or fields of grain Like the weather eclestic The sun or the rain
Do I have purpose? Like the moon in the sky Or just the purpose Revealed in your eye

Love's Dream

My mind dances, to a magic tune As it wanders, over hills of could be A rhythm of moonbeams, on a silver spoon That echoes across an open sea
Oh! to dream, my choosen reality Of that which may, or may not be Like Unicorns dancing in the valley Or Mermaids in the deep blue sea
She is a cloud, a billowing sail The catches my breathe to see the plight Too far away to grasp, and then dissipates when rained upon and held too tight
She is so near.....
In the sound of tumbling waves, the songbird's melody In a sea of morning air, a breeze upon my face In a single breathe, a moment that sustains me The corners of my mind, hearts hiding special place.
The music has begun The dance need not start Not played with a golden band but with the strings of my heart

IS IT ME?
Is it you? That I see Sitting there in front of me. Eyes that sparkle, smiling softly Awakens my memory.
Remembering how I felt As each card had been dealt How I played each and every hand The pain and joy at my command
Fewer choices now it seems Yesterdays are but dreams Tomorrow the last card could be played With regrets I folded, and you stayed
Is it you? That I see holding yourself up to me Or just a mirrored memory The person I always hoped to be

The Beast

Taste of me and I will taste of you Not in ravaging mouthfuls but in sips of morning dew
My lips to catch each tender drop which moistens the fire Quenching the magic's thirst Of capitulation and desire
Otherwise, it's a poor man's feast A table in bountiful array Nourishment for a hungry beast Feeding the body through the day
As day falls into night The lust and hunger slips No sated beast, to be found Without dew upon his lips.
Kiss me softly as morning air and breezes that welcome me in The sound of a heart's rhapsody Can sate the beast within.
Taste of me As I will taste of you Not in ravaging mouthfuls but in sips of morning dew.

Tin Love

I never knew love had a gender Til women made it so. That Love isn't just the sender It's about what women know
That men need to have a heart instead of a love token Then women wouldn't pay the toll The cycle would be broken
The Tin Man, he has spoken "I have no heart in here The cycle needn't be broken Just pedal faster dear!"
So find yourself a clock and time not to care But listen to the tick tock A tin man's heart you'll hear

Tears

RED wrote a blog about crying... I gave it some thought, and whether or not it's a macho thing, or simply a sign of weakness, men bottle their tears to hide the rain
Looking out my window Raindrops on the sill Dark clouds above my head Fallen tears are there, until....
The sun begins to shine Dries the rain all around Fills my heart with joy Tears stop falling down
When tears bottle up It is a crying shame As a heart full of rain Doesn't pour joy, quite the same

Morning Dream

The alarm still goes off, and wakens me, from a slumber sound and deep. To the unwanted jolt, I will not surrender, I know this day will keep.
For in this moment of solitude, my mind is free at last. To contemplate the future, to remember the loving past.
I can see the flowers bloom and smell their sweet perfume Then see her eyes sparkle at me, when she appears in my room.
I hear the sound of cooing, it must be a dove. Her voice is but an echo,"you are the one I love."
I feel the warmth and security, so snug in my cocoon A dream she lies next to me, that I know is ending soon.
Another day has dawned, and now calls out to me To capture another moment, for this place I like to be.
