Tea Party

I think I write almost all of my poetry when thoughts are initiated by someone else. It is in response to others or events that cranks my poetic mind.
Today, I wrote a response to a blog that I truly enjoyed. The blog was about politics and I know many of you don't read such trash talk. But I liked my response and wanted to save it on my blog and share it.
I threw a tea party and everyone came bright colored clothes with shoes not the same
So I asked the question about the shoes on their feet and learned a valuable lesson about the people I meet
"Someone once told us to walk in another shoe. So to avoid all the fuss wore a different one too."
I pondered the answer and what was the gain. If shoes protect bright dresses from avoiding a tea stain!

Man created time Explaining beginning to end For only in his lifetime can time depend
Do we presume to know an ant's brief lifetime His time's deception or his time's perception
The galapogos turtle Does he know time well? Does he think of man housed in a time shell
The time we had, The time we have left is just a mirage Of those time bereft
Reality's perception created in the mind attempts to justify each moment of time
For in the moment when time doesn't exist Can one really know the reality of time bliss.

Took the reigns of expectation to ride the biways of life Roadblocks to my destination unyielding and strife
Abandoned the reins Lost the will Escaped the stress just standing still....
Took the reins of life Emancipated without regret Found a I could ride and rode into the sunset

An insignificant grain of sand An hourglass that never ends Yet, through time upon a man Significance depends

Another repost from Cariad blog. My favorite, I need save.
She came to me on worded wings That lit upon my soul. Revealing things that could be Things that make me whole.
She took me to a distant shore A place of "should have been" Her magic kept me mesmerized With dreams she'd come again
She departed without a fond adeiu Her words painted on my mind I wonder if she ever knew She left her art behind.

Today, I was going through some of the poems I wrote in response to Cariad's blog, for fear they could be lost I want to keep them close on my own blog.
If stars and moonbeams could enthrall I'd gather them up, one and all And build a bridge across the sea to light a way, for you and me
Oh, to build such a glorious span to shorten the distances, if I can Yet how to pluck them from the sky To create a bridge for you and I
Each day can pluck, a moonbeam and star. Using magic coming from heart to mind Someday to gather all that there are Each star and moonbeam of every kind
And a glorious bridge could be made of stars and moonbeams, Magic given Upon a light that will never fade O'er bridges, heart driven

Moonlight's Woo

I wrote this poem to Cariad, just wanted to save it on my blog. It was written in response to one of her many terrific poems.
In the still of night He hears the coo of wanderlust and moonlight's woo
The scent of her sweet perfume She wears the black night dress Her cascades of hair and silky touch Enhances her warm caress
He sees the flower of moonlight Which blossoms in the sky For those who ask why not instead of asking....why
A simple remembrance to dream that love, need not be strewn When magic's stars dance in step All's well, above the moon

Turn out the Lights

I wrote my first poem a few years back after a divorce, It's was wordy and lenghty, After reading it today I decided to rewrite it more concise, yet say the same thing.
You could make my heart smile With The light in your eyes, The gifts that you gave An unexpected surprise
A youthful view of love flawed, but not seen Not caring where it's going Not understanding where it's been
It happened in a moment Changed our life forever. You saw, that other's see Love's an incomplete endeavor
For is it not true, about what others see If they're not envious of you, why would you need me
You stopped saying I love you Yet I never thought, I was bad Until the day you expected better of me. And me was all I had.

Getting Old 101

Time goes by faster so it seems Sleeping only in past dreams Tomorrow is just another day Thinking of yesterday your chosen way
Twist off caps are getting tighter Nothing seems to get lighter Just reaching for something on the top shelf Can only result in hurting yourself
People you care about, don't care enough The phone only rings, for soliciting stuff Finding love is what you want to do But can't find someone to give it to
Money isn't something to build upon Just to worry about when it's gone As others judge your life's worth amount They just look into your bank account
New electronics are hard to figure out Much too much, to think about Things were easier in the past And those were even built to last
Heath isn't determined by your ills But by the number of prescription pills Sitting on the pot becomes a science Discovering the meaning of incontinence
Protection granted by the size of your car Finding yourself lost, the normal par The middle of the road too hard to find And other drivers aren't very kind
Remembering what happened on your wedding day But forgetting what happened yesterday Living in the rear view mirror, so you don't see The crash up ahead, that's to be.

Mine and Mind

I walk away in stillness
Stillness of the heart
Just a flutter of emotion
From the beating part
Once a raging drumbeat
Discovered with surprise
The results of a deep feat
In the sparkling of your eyes
So easily to get lost
The sparkle and the shine
New pennies always rake the cost
Of the tarnishment of mind
As I peer from the shadow
and wonder why it's gone
The only responsibility, I know
is mine and mind alone
.
