Just a reminder as Donald Trump pushes us closer to another war in the Middle East …

Last presidential election the Democrat National Convention, Muslim speaker Khizr Khan spoke of his , U.S. Army Capt. Humayun Khan, who was killed by a car bomb in 2004 while guarding the gates of his base in Iraq, saving the lives of his fellow soldiers and civilians. Khan's was awarded a Bronze Star and a Purple Heart. At the DNC, Khan said Trump has "sacrificed nothing and no one."

Rather than show some respect for the Gold Star Parents … Trump mocked U.S. Army Captain Humayun Kahn's mother: "If you look at her, she was standing there," Trump said. "Maybe she wasn't allowed to have anything to say, you tell me."
What Trump failed to say about the Mueller Report

The simplest most natural thing in the world for Donald Trump to do at this point would be to challenge Americans to READ THE MUELLER REPORT FOR YOURSELF. Challenge Americans to decide for themselves if there's evidence that Trump obstructed justice and if so how to handle that evidence as per the Constitution. The report is out, it's interesting, easily available online, around 400 pages and easy to understand.
Grandpa what did you do to make America great?

PBS Newshour

Judy Woodruff asking Mark Shields about Trump's video of Nancy Pelosi:

So — and, I mean, we have seen this happen in social media. It's what's going on right now. But to know that the president's lawyer — the president was pushing another version of Pelosi.

They pulled together some clips where Pelosi was speaking in a sort of halting way and had it on FOX Business Channel.

I mean, what are we seeing here?

Mark Shields:

We're seeing, Judy, the lack of any moral center or compass in a president and a presidency.

I mean, when — they're going to ask — the grandren are going to ask, what did you stand for, grandpa, what did you do? I mean, when Roosevelt brought a country that was on its knees and its back, back to its feet, when Ronald Reagan won the Cold War, I mean, when Lyndon John brought civil rights to the country, this is what he's going to say?

I doctored up, I made my opponents look bad, I put out phony tapes on them?

I mean, this is beyond — this is an indignity to the office, and it's a disgrace, really, to the country.

When I was a young man I attended my local community college for two years and got an Associates Degree at no cost for tuition. I bought the books. Community college in California was tuition free as long you were a state resident. Back then people who weren't interested in or couldn't afford higher education could be out of college and working in trades in two years. Some local manufacturing facilities offered certificates through community colleges as needed. There was also a tuition free Registered Nursing Program designed to get you working in the field in two years.

Also time in California there were clinics offered treatment free of charge to people with no income or very low income.
Otto Warmbier

Donald Trump said on Thursday he accepted Kim Jong Un's word he didn't know ANYTHING about the maltreatment that caused the death of US student Otto Warmbier.

Warmbier was arrested in North Korea, impried, and returned to the US in a vegetative state. He died soon after. Warmbier's parents sued the North Korea government. A federal judge ruled in Warmbier's parents' favor and ordered Pyongyang to pay them $501 million in damages.

Warmbier's parents will never see a penny from Pyongan or Kim Jong Un .. the man who Donald Trump "fell in love with".
The art of the dog-whistle

After Trump Security Advisor Michael Flynn gets convicted of felony lying to the F.B.I. about conversations with the Russian ambassador he agreed to cut a deal to cooperate with Robert Mueller. When asked specifically about a Presidential Pardon for Flynn Trump dog-whistles to Flynn through the media "lets see what happens"

After convicted felon Paul Manafort is found guilty of five counts of tax fraud, one count of failing to report his foreign accounts, and two counts of bank fraud Trump says "it's sad", Manafort is a "good man. Trump dog- whistles a Presidential Pardon "is not off the table".

Another interesting Trump dog-whistle is to Vladimir Putin. It was delivered through the media via team Trump. Putin may or may not have already known it, but he knows it now .. Trump wants to give him a 50 million dollar penthouse apartment that's expected to rapidly appreciate to 200 million.

Then how cool was it when Roger Stone dog-whistled (Richard Nixon style) to Trump "I am not a crook"

I never thought I would see a Presidential Candidate mock a Gold Star Mother .. then go on to be elected.

Another first happened tonight. Before Donald Trump began his border wall speech from the White House, television networks made a promise to their viewers … they promised the President of the United States of America would not be permitted to lie on air and get away with it …
The Wall

Trump shut down the government over a relatively small amount of money ... 5 billion dollars. And Dems are offering him "crumbs" … 1.3 billion. Crumbs lol, get it? Chump change ... the farm bill was 800-900 billion.

So, it's not about money ... it's about symbolism.

Building a border wall with taxpayer dollars helps to legitimize Trump's BIG LIE that Mexico will pay for it. And the BIG LIE that extorting money from Mexico is what a Christian Nation would do. The wall symbolizes what Trump stands for .. lies, hate, stupidity, bigotry, racism, "shithole nations" etc. We're not gonna have it.

This is part of a very long article that can be found at washingtonpost/arcive, and written by ..

ALLAN SLOAN January 29, 1991

Forget the bad news -- I've found the magic cure for our problems. All we have to do is follow the path blazed by that financial genius, Donald Trump, and his father, Fred.

Donald, of course, is the one-time real estate-airline-casino mogul who has choked on the $3.5 billion or so he owes on his properties. Father Fred, who founded the family fortune, has more restraint than Donald -- and more ready cash.

And even at the age of 85, Fred is clearly much smarter than the people who run some of the nation's biggest banks: He knows better than to lend money to his .

Fred gave Donald the equivalent of an interest-free loan by buying $3.5 million of chips from the Trump Castle casino-hotel in Atlantic City, N.J. According to an article in the Atlantic City Press, a lawyer representing Fred Trump showed up at the Castle on Dec. 17, deposited a $3.35 million certified check, bought 670 $5,000 chips at a high-stakes blackjack table, stuck the chips in a bag and left. The next day, Fred wired $150,000 to the casino and bought another 30 chips. Pretty slick.

Because Donald knew that his father wouldn't cash in the chips right away, he could use the extra $3.5 million in the till to help make the $18.4 million interest payment due on the bonds. Had he lent Donald $3.5 million, Fred would have had to get in line behind Donald's numerous creditors, and he probably never would see a penny of his money again. This way, Donald got the money he needed, and Fred got chips that he could cash in any time the casino had money on hand to redeem them. He may have cashed in some or all of them by now. Casino regulators are yelling and screaming, but they will probably do nothing but make noise.

You can't make this stuff up ..

I've never seen anything like it. Immediately following the midterm elections Trump began begging the United States Government not to investigate him. Of course Trump attached a little threat to it as well ... saying if you investigate me I won't work with you. Then Trump takes it up a notch and says, if you investigate me I'll investigate you back! And I'll investigate you to the point where the Government grinds to a halt … and I can do this because I own the Senate ... paraphrasing of course.
