Fancied a nice juicy quick fry steak so a few days ago bought a 2 pound steak,, , the following day I went to prepare my dinner,,, chopped my mushrooms and onions , lightly fried them prior to cooking my steak,, added the spices, the aroma really made me feel hungry, I went to get the steak ready for washing, on opening the fridge I found it had vanished,, there is only one reason goodies disappear in this flat and he has 4 paws, tail and goes by the name of Jack,, sure enough on checking his bed I found the wrapping from the steak buried in his quilt,, needless to say, what goes in must come out,, he farted continuously all evening,, the steak was one seventh of his body weight,, I had to make do with a fried egg with my mushrooms and onions, Yuk!!

While working on my friends alfa romeo in cold weather we decided to put Jack in the car because it was so cold, he was trying to lift all paws from the cold ground, lol, after a while we noticed he was very quiet, unusual for a Jack Russell, on opening the car door we discovered Jack had eaten a whole bag of sweetened crystilised Gingerroot,, after a few hours the ginger worked its way to his rear end, lol it must have felt like it was on fire,, he was Ben Hurring all over the grass lawn,, trying to cool his butt, hahahahaha, pulling himself along wiping his butt on the cold grass,, later that evening it was my turn to suffer,, he had flatulence with a capital F, had to have the garden door open to get rid of the pong, I checked with the vet who assured me there would be no damage other than the horrific smell,, that lingered well into the night,, the following day the little cretin was searching for more ginger., didnt learn his lesson,, we did though.

Searched all morning for the car keys, , suddenly found the tag in Jacks bed, but no key, I was panicing thinking he had swqallowed it so took him for emergency treatment,, the vet xrayed his tum but no trace of the key there, lol cost, about 75 dollars,, I used the metal detector on all his favourite spots where he buries his treasures,, still no key,, 30 minutes later my friends knocked on the door with my key, lol she found it in the door lock of the car, AAAAAAAH, lol brain like a sieve.

Jack Russell's disasters

Jack, my Jack Russell was in close pursuit of a rat when suddenly it shot down a storm drain, Jack thrust his head between the steel bars and became well and truly trapped, I could not free him,, some passersby called out the emergency and within minutes the local Fire brigade arrived complete with their gigantic appliance, on their arrival the chief said, "we know you", lol they have visited my flat before when I had a culinary disaster,

after greasing Jack's head they managed to extracate him after trying to manipulate him,,, lol he immediately thrust his head back down the drain, the whole procedure took place all over again,, very embarrassing, by this time a crowd of onlookers had assembled, all giving advice,

The outcome was my contributing to the Fire brigade benevolent fund,, the little "ratbag" sure gets into some scrapes and its always costly, lol

Hi Friends,,
I was watching a documentary on lady rock climbers and brought to mind my partner Janice's first and last attempt at climbing,, , our team was in the Hartz mountains and had selected a difficult to severe climb when janice said she would like to accompany us on the ascent.
This face was far too difficult so we chose a face rated moderate,, about 500 to 600 feet, plenty of holds and a rest ledge about 350 feet up,, ,she started well enough but at about 50 feet she froze, she still wanted to carry on but didnt want to look down so we blindfolded her and two of us acting as anchor hauled her up manually to the rest ledge,, we usually had a coffee and a cigarette when we reached this ledge, quite wide, about 2 feet,,,,,On her reaching the ledge we belayed her to the face then she romoved the bandana from her eyes and promptly fainted, lololol, she was safe enough, but we had to get her down as soon as possible,, she was dead weight as we abseiled back down,, on reaching the base camp she really let go at me, hahahahahalol, she made my life hell for the next 2 weeks..

I had many a chuckle as I listened to her telling her friends how she had accomplished her wish, she always left out the fainting part,, I never had the courage to tell them what really happened, hahahahahalol,,
Beautiful memories.

Bye friends,
Ceejay and dog.

Hi friends,,,,

I have been taking my Jack Russell "Jack" for vetenary treatment owing to very bad breath, lol it would ground a Jumbo,,,, his last visit had to be made on the underground owing to the car having flat tyres, thanks to the old witch a few doors downfrom me..

He is not at all happy to travel underground and suffers from flatulence when he has to take this mode of travel,, he was sat on my lap letting go every few seconds,, he cleared the seats next to us in record time,, believe me,, it was so embarrassing having to endure the stony faced glares on the faces of fellow travellers,, they were lucky,, I was on the recieving end, he being on my lap, hahahahahalol, I felt quite green,, rather than risk a repetition the return journey was made by taxi.

bye friends,

Solstace and Christmas greetings to you one and all.

Hi Friends,

This morning I was packing some of my daughters' old books ready for Oxfam, when I saw a picture on the cover which brought to mind a beautiful memory from long ago.
We were on an early morning climb in "Fussen, Bavaria", Southern Germany, members of a military climbing team, we were 2 or 300 feet into the climb when our attention was drawn to the incredible sight of minarets and towers slowly emerging from the mist which filled the valley below us,, we just had to pause to take in this wonderful sight,, I belayed to the face and prepared to take some shots with my new,, very expensive camera, unfortunatly I didnt put the safety strap round my neck and inadvertently dropped it.
The towers and minarets were part of "King Ludwig's " castle, "Schloss Neashwanstein", a fairytale castle built (so I was told) during one of his bouts of madness,, whatever the truth, its absolutely beautiful and I recommend it to anyone visiting that area.
On descending the face I found my camera, more or less still in one piece but badly damaged, it never worked again.
There is one rockface which has drawn me like a magnet for many years, its the "El Kapitan", in the "Yesemote National Park, U,S,A,, if anyone has information on this particular face I would greatly appreciate it if they pass it on to me, lolol it must be soon,, am getting too old to attempt anything too severe.

Bye bye.

Hi Friends,

Back in the forties the vet used to visit and administer treatment for our animals, he used to ask if there was anything else to do, my "Stepmom", bless her , told him, young Jeff had toothache, so while I was held down by one of the hands he extracated the tooth, (With no anaesthetic, using the sheep plyers,, this led to an inordinate fear of dentistry.
Later during my military service we wwas on operation in a far distant hostile country, four of us were dropped from a C130,3 days treck to our destination, prior to leaving the airstrip we were asked if all was well with our health, lolol, I never mentioned a raging toothache, we were on a stealth reconnaissance to gather information, ,we eventually arrived after a hell of a treck and proceeded to observe the opposition,, by this time the pain had become unbearable , my 3 buddies decided the only course of action was to extract the offending molar,, the only instrument available being our combat knives, very sharp instruments,
I have never experienced such pain, the inside of my mouth resembled a butchers chopping board but they acheived their objective and managed to cut out the tooth,, lolol as I type, I can still feel the scars inside my mouth.their hands were shaking so much.
We could not risk making a sound owing to the very close proximity of nasty people, lolol.

Bye bye,

Ceejay and Mutt.

MAINLAND,,IX,,, Kerosene Goose

Hi Friends,

Reading about various friends'Thanksgiving dinners brings to mind an incident I would rather forget,, at the time we were living in married quarters in "Blanford Forum", a military establishment, close to "Stonehenge", near "Salisbury"it was on the
of the winter solstace, ,,we had invited several friends for a roast goose dinner,, my culinary help was preparing the goose while Janice and my friends attended the solstace service at Stonehenge.I had taken the goose from the freezer about midnight and left it to thaw, in the morning I found the goose still very much frozen, specially the inside, at a loss what to do to hasten the thawing I decided to use a kerosene powered blow torch,, it worked after a fashion but the smell was horiffic,

eventually the goose was thawed but the smell of kerosene permeated the carcass, plus a great deal of singeing, while the goose was roasting Jan and friends returned, foolishly I mentioned to janice what had happened, she inadvertantly mentioned it to one of our guests, the word soon spread,

We all sat down to dinner and started to eat with trepidation,, the goose was well cooked but flavoured with kerosene, everyone had a mouthful and left the rest,, the vegetables were good though.

bye bye,

Ceejay and mutt.
