Ever since a local coffee shop moved into this building and put the giant cut out coffee mug up, I have wanted this picture. The cup is several feet from the bear, but at just the right spot, well the bear is savoring some Java. On a side not during the last election someone painted Trump all.over the bear. It has since been painted.

The other day while in the hot tub one of my yard birds landed on the edge and began chirping. Not being fluent in chirp, I translated the dialogue as follows, "So your bird bath is up and mine isn't." Today, I politely rectified the problem.

There once was a whole building attatched. Now only the tower remains.

Has anyone else seen all the T. Toks and vloggers out there doing excerpts on dating or dates? I mean wow. They remind me a little of why I stopped "dating". A woman was taken to a nice place (granted not high dollar), but quite nice. She had a meal that was about a third of the average weekly income and was angry. She made a video ranting about how mistreated she was, not because the man wasn't a gentleman, but because he did not go broke to date her. I was honestly very impressed by the young man, who while flustered by her attitude, maintained complete composure. Where I live, in the vast wilderness, grown-ups really don't date. We hunt, we fish, we hike, we explore, we visit historical sites and sometimes go for coffee or ice cream after. Not expensive dates and often free, all great ways to get to know each other and spend time together. We also have Casino dates, where you pay your own way, hang out and have fun. Not really a great way to get to know each other, but they can be fun. If you make it to a point where you would like to take your date to a super nice place, it is a one to three hour drive. At the dinner hour in my town there is pizza, take a way Chinese, and burgers. So for a sit down, slow dining experience, its one hour to Escanaba, with Four decent choices or three hours to Green Bay with endless fabulous choices. This is most likely a contributing factor into really knowing where the relationship may head before "dating". I think this may be what has collapsed the long-distance trend as well. I did the whole long distance dating trend when it was the new hot thing to do. I also attended a lot of weddings that began that way. So, it did have its successes. Anyway, How do you feel? Has "dating" gotten out of hand? Should there be a handbook? Also what are your feelings on dating?

I love popping in and reading everyone's blogs. We do have some clever members here! I hope you all know how very much you are appreciated. Life is richer with your golden sense of humor. My life has been a whirlwind of change lately. My grandchildren are off to Minnesota, my youngest is finishing her sophomore year this summer. Only two more and she is off to college. Do I feel the empty nest syndrome? No. I will visit. Instead I feel a freedom, I had long forgotten. I spend a lot of time hiking the local beach. Pick one, I live just a quick walk from Lake Michigan, a short drive to Green Bay, and an even shorter drive to Lake Superior. This summer I am visiting waterfalls. Oh, I plan to fish a few new lakes and streams I have found. I hope you are all enjoying life as it comes. Big hugs to those who want them.
