I went to my sweet Doctor this afternoon. I've been is such pin for the last few days. She gave me a shot of Tordahl and put me on some high dollar antibiotics for the next *ten* days. I am to go back at the end of that time. Should I not be better then more meds.

I am afraid to admit my plans to start a Pineapple Plantation in Iowa have been dashed upon the rocks of failure.

My pineapples have dried out and died.

Here it is First of the month. I went in to see Martin then make my deposit at the bank. Not all meetings at the bank are pleasant, however, I had money left over !

Tonight JD had his steak & baked potato while I went down a different path. I made potato pancakes with plenty of eggs in them.

I topped them off with plenty of French Onion Sour Cream dip.

SOUP & Sandwich

Winter is about over, however, so many of our lunches consist of a bowl of Soup and a sandwich. We both like dunking our grilled cheese sandwich into a bowl of tomato soup.

Yesterday I tossed a chicken breast on in the morning then cut it up with kitchen sheers with a few veggies and an assortment of pasta noodles. Simple, basic, but so dang good.

Not every day am I able to make soup for us and I grab a can or *two of store bought soup, open, heat, and eat. There are so many varieties to choose from on the market.

**** A QUERY **** ??? ****

What is your favorite soup to eat?

Easy Orange Scones ! These orange scones are a bit different, they don’t have any dried fruits in them. The recipe is a well know scone recipe. The scones that Queen Elizabeth loved are flavored with orange zest and orange blossom water or orange flavoring. These orange scones are served with orange marmalade, traditionally, and, of course, clotted cream.. you may use a sweetened cream cheese.

Don't be shy... If you can make biscuits you can do these.

1-7/8 cups self-raising flour white if too moist add a touch more flour.
1-teaspoon baking powder
2.5Tablespoons of butter-- room temperature
2-Tablespoons of sugar
– orange flavoring
– orange zest
1* egg
1/2 cup milk

Mix the dry components by hand with the butter until it resembles bread crumbs. After that, add the beaten egg, milk, and the flavoring. ( a few drops of the orange flavoring should suffice. )
It takes less than 2 minutes to make the dough. The dough does not need resting, so roll the dough 3/4" and cut the scones.A Round biscuit cutter works for me.. Put them on a baking parchment or a greased non-stick tray. Bake the scones for 10 to 15 minutes. I would suggest flipping the tray after 8 minutes, so the scones can bake evenly. It’s not necessary if you are using a fan assisted oven. Brush with melted butter.

Serve with Sweetened cream cheese and orange jam or marmalade.

Do you like scones? Have you ever tried orange scones before?

W0W !!! Wind is GUSTY at 45MPH .. 72KPH !

We are seriously considering a wind turbine. No... not one of those BIG, Noisy Monsters.

They have smaller vertical models that deliver 220 volts for about $500. Of course there's a bunch of installation costs but with our electric bills the turbine could pay for itself in a matter of months. We might even be able to add electric heating to the house as well.

Kind of a funky lawn ornament !
