I had not been out to my old haunts seeking bargains since the fever set in. I hopped into an old Ram for some RUMMAGE RAMPAGE.

My main find / treasure were *TWO* half dozen bunches of silk Calli lilies for just a buck a bundle.

This is the vase at the top of the stairs where they will be placed after I arrange them

"P" is for Popejoy.....

..a town founded by Norwegian and Danish ancestors, based on it's "Velkommen" welcome sign.

With just 79 residents in the 2010-* census.

Main Street is pretty empty with no commercial businesses open.

This multipurposed building has been a bank, elevator office, and cafe.

The old style gas station where you really had to "pump" your gas for your jalopy.

BUTTERFINGERED \^!^,

I should have guessed at the breakfast table when the box of Rice Krispies escaped my grasp dumping across the table and onto the floor that I'd been given a pair of invisable Teflon gloves while I slept. The BUTTERFINGER plague continued when unloading the dishwasher...luckily.... unbreakable the silverware container slipped out of my fingers scattering across the floor. It didn't occur to me quite as yet worthy of a photograph.

Dinner planning began... I tried the Progresso Clam Sauce before but thought it needed some extras.

I slivered some carrot, then diced some onion and cabbage into a couple tablespoons of butter to stir fry. If you sliver your veggies I find they have a better chance of getting tangled up with the pasta!

That's when I reached into the cupboard to get the spaghett.. The end of the package had come open and across my shoulder rained down a spray of pasta to the floor...

Once again the Viking Beserker welled up and I wanted to smash something with a hammer.

I cooked the remaining 3/4 of a pound of pasta according to the directions draining it thoroughly before adding the Clam Sauce and an extra can of minced clams. To warm it up I stir fried it with my veggies. Not wanting to temp fate I had JD carry the pan to the table.

There's just some topics that are best left unmentionable...........

Like eating liver & onions................ ( yes I do make JD liver & onions...eeeewwww )

Also on the list is what goes into hotdogs and bologna.

Recently a very kind member mentioned how she enjoyed bologna ... We do too!

Tonight I made us fried bologna. JD wanted a baked potato with his. I had a salad with balsamic vinegar and oil, melted garlic butter topped with cracked black pepper, French bread and that "unmentionable" fried bologna.

There along the fence row in the ravine sauntered a Bobcat !!!!

A few nights ago in chat STR had mentioned leg cramps... another "charlie horses" in the arch of their feet. An old wives tale or Down home Southern cure is sweet relish or sweet pickles... doesn't have to be every meal but once or twice a week eat some sweet relish on a hot or with a meal. I make several kinds of sweet relish and pickles during the year... there seems to be a "healing agent," curative power" or preventative in the vinegar//cucumber combination. There's NO scientific data or research to back it but just give some sweet relish a try... what do you have to loose?

I made a spicy diakon or Japanese radish relish that turned out a W0Wer in tuna salad, with brats or hotdogs or just about anything that needs an extra to it.

These were the basic veggies with , vinegar, water, and some spices. We get leg cramps or charlie horses these are our "Go To" remedy or preventative.
