Written more than 70 years ago, 84 was George Orwell’s last chilling prophecy about the future. While 84 has come and gone, his dystopian vision of a government that will do anything to control the narrative is timelier than ever now....

Enter now "Big Sister" which useless idiot clearly thought such a partisan hack should be Biden's "Disinformation Czar?" Placing Nina Jankowitz on the "thought Police" of online users is like making Al Capone Social Morality Director of the USA. When they say "disinformation" they mean anyone or entity that disagrees with the Biden narrative. .Jankowitz claimed the Hunter Biden laptop was a Trump fabrication... then Russian disinformation.

There has never been a more dysfunctional administration incapable of self-examination. White House press secretary Jen Psaki on Friday defended the Biden administration's new disinformation czar -- despite her history of spreading misinformation -- insisting she has "extensive qualifications"

I picked this frame at the Thrift store very cheap.... Fifty cents!

By the looks of this corner it's been dropped... hard.

Bring in my trusty DRUMMEL to round out a few rough spots.

of the few times I've picked the tool and the right I wanted was previously installed.

I filled in the cracks and tapered in the ground areas with spackling compound.

Selecting a thick latex paint I covered the spackled areas to blend in better for the final coat of paint.

I made an error in my plans for the final finish. I sprayed the frame with the gold then thought I'd highlight some with a "dry brushed" Black Hills Gold....

DUMB !!! It looked awful !

I resprayed it for it's final finish.

I will now prepare to mount my World War II Fiji shilling banknote

Most of you have laundry chores to do as do I.

When I seen the "GAIN" laundry pouches you just toss in and forget I thought I'd give them a try. I really wasn't happy with the results and long since gone back to my regular detergent using the remaining packets on less important loads.

HOWEVER.... I did see promise in the empty container. It's interesting shape caused me to try and soak off the label in water... which failed to remove the adhesive. Enter good old GOOF OFF to remove the stubborn glue. I am thinking drilling drain and planting maybe some flowers in it. Just have to see what develops.

I bought a watermelon for dessert tonight. Watermelon is a sweet and refreshing low calorie snack. provides hydration and also essential nutrients, including vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants. Along with cantaloupe, honeydew, and cucumber, watermelons are a member of the Cucurbitaceae family. Watermelon is around 90% water, which makes it useful for staying hydrated in the summer. It can also satisfy a sweet tooth with its natural sugars.

Watermelon also contains antioxidants. These substances can help remove Molecules known as free radicals, or reactive species, from the body. The body produces free radicals during natural processes, such as metabolism. They can also develop through smoking, air pollution, stress, and other environmental pressures. If too many free radicals stay in the body, oxidative stress can occur. This can result in cell damage and may lead to a range of diseases, such as cancer and heart disease. The body can remove some free radicals naturally, but dietary antioxidants support this process.

My query is; I am going to make sweet watermelon pickles. Would anyone be interested in the Old Southern Watermelon Pickle Recipe if I were to blog it?

otherwise I will save the effort.

EDITED !!! The rind on the melon is too thin to make pickles with... even too thin for relish... Great tasting melon but very thin skinned

Today I spray painted my old cast iron trivet that had been my Grandmothers setting by her stove for years.

I also hung up the gold Baroque carved wall mounting designed to display JD's Great Grandfather's gilded dress sword. This has amounted to an incredible amount of time with many disasters in it's creation that I would like to blog about when I am feeling better.

The clock came amazing CLEAN ! After years of feather duster, cloth, and vacuum the clock now looks CLEAN ! I thought the "dusty" antique look was a part of the normal 80's "Antique" look. Red arrow also indicates I vacuumed the flower petals.

Our Baroque clock on JD's baby grand piano in the parlor quit working some time ago which was most disconcerting when we habitually glance in that direction for the correct time.

By sheer happenstance while out junqueing; rummaging through thrift stores and antique shoppes I seen a possible replacement to repair our defunct timepiece. For the most reasonable price of just $1.00 on the outside chance that it worked. It didn't quit fit, however, with a little shaving with the trusty Drummel I removed a few fins from the clock then shaved the interior of the case.

My search turned to an odd size "N" battery. Of course it came in a two pack ! The thrift store find took off counting the seconds, turn to minutes , then hours.

The extra battery fits into the hidden compartment of the mantle clock for future use.

The finish of the overall clock always looks "dusty" even though it is clean. I am considering refinishing it in a "Black Hills Gold" tone. What do you think?

Our DSL went down with the storm yesterday... they used duct tape and barbed wire to get it restored overnight. My blogable accomplishment for the day thus follows today. I'd purchased a remnant of fine fabric, made in the USA from Hobby Lobby 2 1/2 yards +/- a few months ago to redo the seats of our French Provincial Dining Room set. I finally got around to working on it between tornado warnings and MUTTs Inc.

I split the fabric in half then set about attaching the seemed side to the front of the now reinforced chair seats.

With the front firmly stapled down I pulled the fabric taught and attached the back side.

Next I drew in the corners, much like wrapping a package, then stapled them into place.

With all the corners drawn in and the sides stapled into place the seat is finished.

This is what the seats look like when placed on the chairs. I am so happy the large rose was repeated prominently on every seat when I was finished.

There was a small piece about 8" left over scrap fabric when I was done. Also I was a bit concerned I might run out of staples then have to go to town and get more.

A friend surprised me this afternoon to drop off a of seeds he'd picked thinking of me. Made my day !

Rosie our ever so quiet Greyhound whom you'd be hard pressed to even know she is around just came to me to let me know there is THUNDER outside.

The whole dang day has been extremely windy, a pleasant temp 73F / 27 C but so windy if my coat opened up like a sail I'd be in Pottawatomie County in an instant.

There is another line of strong to moderate thunderstorms soon to hit us
