Last night while in chat I told everyone about the delicious food from our local family restaurant >>> 7 STARS <<<



The owner (red arrow ) with his also long time assistant (blue arrow) have prepared some of the best reasonably priced meals in the county. No frills .. just good food cooking.. They know us and treat us like family too!



I'd told my friends in chat the meal was $8 .............. They raised the price to $8.10!



Your choice a cup of homemade chicken & dumpling soup or a fresh green salad....


After a chilly ride into town I took the soup !



Here is my Walleye Pike and baked potato !!!! Home made tarter sauce too!



I asked for separate ticket from JD to show the price hike.... the gal just laughed JD had the "Farmer Steak" smothered in grilled green peppers, mushrooms, and onions... only my picture screwed up.. my lens fogged up !


This comes pretty dang close from the net.


If you're ever tooddling around North Iowa getting hungry... This is the place to stop and get refilled! 3 Generations of this family will see to it you are well fed

A bit tardy for posting on this topic...... Last night's dinner PIZZA turned out as one of my best! JD asked for the Deep Dish "Chicago Style" loaded with meat & cheese. The pepperoni's off the charts "spicy" level by itself could make your eyes water.



I diced the green & yellow pepper, mushroom, with the onion to fry in the hamburger and Italian sausage so the meat would "steam cook" and not get browned. The meat and veggies I then added to my sweet Sicilian Marinara. My sauce is loaded with basil, oregano, and fennel so each bite is bursting with flavor.



The top of the pizza was sealed in a Mozzi & Piccarino cheese layer



I/we were both so dang hungry we dove into the pizza before I remembered to get some pictures.... Opppsss...... Now you get a clear side view of a Chicago Style Pizza!

And just what does our Packratt spy??? A fairly decent hiking backpack! Just needs to be powerwashed and cleaned up a little bit.

I have that $5 junk dressed all sanded, painted, and hauled up the stairs to the North -West bedroom.


Now I am open as to which lamp to place on top. I have this yellow rose flowered lamp.



This chromed "electrified' gas lamp with the amber glass shade.



Can also do candles



We can mix and match. I also have some silk flower arrangements that might work too.

I am down to the fine brushes correcting back and forth (depending on drying time ) the Gold and the white. COLOR INSIDE THE LINES!



I caught myself in a Charlie Brown moment holding my tongue "just right" to gild in a corner with the fine brush.

I'd baked a pie for dessert tonight with a nice dinner. I'd taken it out of the oven to cool. I came upstairs from the office and there stood JD & Ronnie eating HALF the G D PIE !!!



Remember those "cheap" GREEN ACRES Peaches?


They were NASTY tough, hard, not fit to put into Jello as planned.



I grabbed a can of applesauce. I added both cans to the "chopper" with a dash of cinnamon, cloves, allspice, sugar, and cornstarch.


Flour, salt and some lard well mixed with an old hand biscuit maker


~~~presto~chango~~~ I have some pie crust



After blending up the peaches into the applesauce mix I pour the pie-filling into the piecrust. I place the pie in a pre-heated moderate oven at 350 degrees for about an hour....



I expect a beautiful ~ perfect ~ PIE suitable for a BLOG... NOT a half MUNCHED PIECE OF CRAP!
