*~* Swan Lake *~*

The first picture reminds me of the ballet, composed by Pyotr Tchaikovsky in 1875-1876. It's one of the most popular ballets of all times - a fairy tale.

The second picture shows one scene on stage......

Like all Fairy Tales, there is a Happy Ending. The prince breaks the vicious spell and returns happiness to the land of fairies and elves......

I love Swan Lake.....I have only seen it danced live 2 times in my life, but I never get tired of watching/listening to it on film danced by many different ballerinas.......My parents had a Deutsche Gramaphone record of the whole ballet and I would close my eyes and see it danced in my mind..........I can still see it if I concentrate......

Love Swan Lake and one of my favorite pieces of music. The beautiful swans in the first photo remind me of the swans we used to have on Lost Lagoon in Stanley Park.. They were removed by the parks board some years ago. The swans were removed because there wasn't the proper vegetation to feed them anymore and they had to be fed by humans. Their wings were clipped so they couldn't fly also. It was sort of a sad situation for the swans.

I love the picture of the beautiful swans; so very graceful. Swan Lake is my favourite ballet too.

IT TOOK ME YEARS TO FIGURE OUT WHAT THAT BALLET WAS ABOUT. YEARS AND YEARS.

The scenario was fashioned from Russian and German folks tales and tells the story of Odette, a princess turned into a swan by an evil sorcerer's curse, Baron von Rothbart. She can only take back her human looks as a young woman between midnight and daybreak. Prince Siegfried, who on a hunting trip encounters a flock of swans, falls in love with the Swan Queen Odette. He makes the promise to love her for all times and breaks the spell. And they lived happily ever after!

I love ur pics. Stuff like this reminds me of my Mom. She was full German and I only remember my Grandfather and he would speak German when the kids were around. My Mom loved classical music and when my father went to work, she played it. Fantasia was excellent, we loved family night with Wonderful World of Disney
