*~* $ Note *~*

Some years ago I participated in a survey and after that I received a thank-you letter with a 2 Dollar Note. My question is, is it "play money" or has it once been a legal paper note? It has a marking "Series 2013". I won't spend it. LOL Just curious.

Very much "Legal Tender" and quiet spendable.... Not rare or worth a premium .... Keep and enjoy the beauty of the engraver's art.

It is real, I used to have about ten of them but gave all but one away. People who have never seen them think they are counterfeit.

No longer is the phrase "phony as a $2 bill" accurate

Here in Canada $2 and $1 bills are no longer in circulation. We have a $1 coin which is copper colored and the $2 coin is bi-colored. I seldom pay for anything with cash these so I don't have many of these coins around. But think they are collectors.

I recall the saying being "as phony as a THREE dollar bill.

If there is a horse racing track in 'the vicinity' odds are strong two dollar bills are common.

I just found an envelope of $3 bills my father gave my youngest daughter on the last birthday he was alive for.

IN MY TIME, 2$ BILLS WERE USED AT RACE TRACKS. ASK AT YOUR BANK.

We use the expression here in Ireland ''as bent as a 9 bob note''
