*~*~* Canada *~*~*

This morning I had two photos in my mail from friends who live in Nova Scotia, Canada.
Hurricane Fiona hit them last night. They took the photos this morning. Cloudbursts had undermined the street nearby, and a car was partly pulled down when the road surface was washed away. The driver survived and was taken to hospital.
Parts of Nova Scotia have no electricity. How big the damage is, was not known that early in the morning.

I hope all Canadians stay safe!

I try to imagine the shock that while driving all of a sudden the hard surface collapses. The time when the photo was taken the environment looks so peaceful.... strange. Hopefully, the driver of the car is not seriously injured.

I learned that FL is used to hurricanes. Decades ago a family member of my late husband, who lived in FL, lost all her belongings due to a hurricane. I would not want to live in that state although it is very attractive in many ways.
I read that Fiona is underway to Florida and may hit on coming Tuesday. Hopefully, it will not.

I am from the West Coast of Canada and I have a friend who went to Nova Scotia two weeks ago. She is in the northern part of Nova Scotia which is about 2 hours north of Halifax. I haven't heard from her as yet. Power was out everywhere in Nova Scotia. Where she is staying they have a generator so they would not be without power in the event they lost power. I just hope she is okay and was able to stay safe during the storm.

My friends live in Cape Breton, Nova Scotia. They have also a generator and all kinds of survival devices.

Its frightening what is going on with the weather. We, in Ireland think it wont happen to us, but I wouldnt be too sure. The weather is certainly changing. Birdsong is sometimes 3am.

FIONA HAS DONE A LOT OF DAMAGE EVERYWHERE IT HAS HIT. THE ISLAND OF GUADELOUPE HAS BEEN VERY HARD HIT AS WELL AS OTHER ISLANDS IN THE CARRIBEAN AREA AND NOW THE HURRICANE HAS MOVED WAY UP NORTH. I DO NOT THINK I KNOW ANYONE UP THERE BUT MY HEART GOES OUT TO ALL THOSE FOLKS WHO ARE SUFFERING FROM FIONA. FOR SURE.

I lived in FL and a few other places. When I lived in NY we got a couple of hurricanes. Hurricane Gloria in Long Island NY was bad, Lost a lot of trees and it damaged fences and our inground pool. Thankfully we had great insurance. FL wasn't as bad when I lived there. No electric being out was rough in both places. 10 days in FL once.
Prayers for Canada !!!!!

HURRICANES / TYPHOONS ARE WORLDWIDE. i read a super typhoon is hitting Luzon now.

major wind and rain. The Philippines are in a bad area. typhoons are common and deadly. the nation is very poor and buildings in provinces are made shift and primitive. govt corruption is worse than here in the USA. there is no middle class. only the wealthy and the poor.
