I was not going to respond but your comment has " made me do it ". A white baby has an advantage from birth over a black baby. It seems so evident to me that you must be blind not to see it. Bright has had to work 10 x's harder than I would have had if I were given her talent. I have seen it in everyday life and in the military. I often wonder how many changes a four star black officer had to make to prove himself. How many rules he had to conform to. I have seen it in the medical community and could give specific examples if anyone cares. I 'm sorry Bright if my outburst has upset you. We all bleed the same and all look the same when our guts are ripped open. Creative Ideas.

We have White Privilege, that's how we are more fortunate. Say it...WHITE PRIVILEGE.... what does that mean? More possessions, more power, more control,, more opportunity, more intelligence, more wealth, more beauty, and more rights. I doubt people who believe such things are ever satisfied or innately happy. people can't get enough of things that matter to them, simply because it matters to other people. When what does matter has no limits...more love, more caring, more friendship, More compassion, more understanding, more forgiving.more peaceful,and more helpful... it's certainly a lot easier to realize near the end of one's life..you're not going to take it with you.. Equality is going to slap in the face when you come to the end. How does a man leave the world in a better place than he came into it? It doesn't come with fireworks or in history books...it comes with "rest in peace". Twilight. said it well..but let me add one thing.....whether you hate the "haves" or hate the "have nots", or for that matter hate yourself for being one of them.. It's still hate. You may be in reality..on the other side of the coin.. but it's the same coin. Being white doesn't make you different. you can defend being black or promote being white it does the same thing... inequality doesn't need to be a thing......But it always needs to be a choice.

Bright i would like to sit and talk with you for about 10 hours. LOL I was born to a poor white family and white privilege is something difficult for me to understand. In fact I tend to consider it bordering on an insult. LOL People can analyze and speak in generalities here but the true meaning in what they are trying to say can be misconstrued. I prefer to think we are all in this together. Comparing child hood and environment would be most interesting and help in realizing why people think the way we do.

Well Sparle you and Mehak Anwar can take a flying leap. When anyone says I have an advantage without knowing me or my background it IS personal. I am completely aware of what I say and think. Bright is an intelligent lady and she replied to my question. Your usual psycho babble analysis is not needed or appreciated. Yet it is applied as an individual one. That idea that privilege, prejudice, and inequality is a social construct..Is not a choice. It's fight is like battling ghosts, dragons, windmills and climate. It is deeply embedded in EVERY society, culture, religious, economic, and political entity. Control and power is the issue. those that have it..create it. It can be controlled by the majority or by a minority...and in rare cases by an individual. White privilege in America..Is based on the FACT that white people have controlled America and the American society., especially White men. We battle it.. but it's an unsolvable problem. Every change brings a different kind of control and different kind of prejudice. and the fear in those that once had it of losing it. The negativism applied to the social construct. Is just changing the enemy. Sparkle view, although correct is 'spittin in the wind" Your view is where the problem lies. When the social construct is aimed at the individual...and individual who is either blamed or held responsible. for some thing they have no power and control over. I have no power or control over the fact i am white.. nor does a black person have power and control of being black. The idea is not changing the social construct...the idea is changing how it is applied. And people taking responsibility for things they can take responsibility for, and quit using color as an excuse. We all deal with injustices, whether real or perceived, You can't eliminate all of them...so it only matters how you deal with the ones you have.

Bright that was one of my serious LOLs. LOLOL It was not a joke. I use LOL as a substitute for smiley face because an emoji can add virus to a computer. The all knowing Canadian blog mother claims I do it for different reasons. She assumes that she knows ME better than I do. LOLOL That being said-------I will move on! One of my favorite things to do is talk with friends about our experiences, ancestors and life in general today. In a conversation between you and me, 10 hours might not be enough time. LOL The 40 acres & mule promise your ancestors brings to mind promises to some of my ancestors placed on a reservation in order to eradicate them from the earth. While Lincoln was freeing yours he was starving some of mine. I have German Welsh & NATIVE American Indian ancestry. Which means some of my ancestors had this land before the whites or blacks got here. LOL Then I get lectured on how I must realize we are all mutts. Like I didn't know???? LOL Fast forward------ Today I do not feel oppressed or short changed over what my ancestors endured. My parents were busy struggling to make a living. I had little to no guidance. Going into the first grade ------The teacher had to block the door & hold me in the classroom while my dad drove away. LOL Sooooooo later I realized that WAS my guidance although unintended. My life was devoted to my 3 children -------- I would see they were prepared and had every opportunity. I worked hard------sometimes two jobs along with investing saved money. We drove by Humpty Dumpty day school telling them what they could learn in there so many time that they could not wait until they were old enough to get in the door. LOLOL My kids had every advantage because I started with nothing and gave it to them. They are doing exceptionally well and I am proud of the fact. It has nothing to do with skin color. The skill I developed to provide for family was achieved by working alongside black and white guys. We all had the same opportunity for advancement and progressed up the pay scale by our ability to run more difficult items as a machinist. There was a time when the politicians stepped in and mandated quotas that more black guys should be advanced. That didn't matter to me because I had been offered advancement up from assistant foreman in order to retain sharpness in running computerized equipment --------- due to my selfish plan to start a business ------take the risk & go it on my own. LOL I started the business----worked days & into the night to make it go. Did it for approx 34 years. So for anyone to tell me I have a white advantage does not sit well. I did inherit $5000 from an uncle & aunt but I gave it to my grandson to aid in his white privilege to graduate as a chemical engineer from University of Texas Austin. LOLOL DANG!! I am proud of that young Man. LOLOL Party On! Now I will probably hear about money hungry Americans. LOL GUILTY & driven to have more. To each his or her own.

It is hard to understand how a raciest/thief and wannabe dictator gets a huge political following in the USA. But thanks to deregulation of the FCC, the Right to Free Speech in the USA has become the right to lie and get away with it in the USA .... and where would Donald Trump be without the 'right to lie'? The good news is we can fix the FCC.
