If you don't know where you are going....

Years ago, I heard this phrase.

If you don't know where you are going....any road will do!.

It took me a while to figure out what it really meant, but over time it began to make more and more sense. Our lives ultimately are molded by decisions we make. Some obviously important. Some seemingly trivial. But they all add up in the vignettes that become our stories.

So, back to the phrase. In the mad dash of life sometimes folks are in a rush to make a decision, to get somewhere, to check something off a list. I need a job, so I take the first one offered because it helps pay the bills. Then 20 years later it became the bane of your existence, because you never looked back. I need a date, because I'm lonely and they said ok ... becomes a lifelong partner. If you are lucky you grow into each other. Many are not so lucky.

So, I guess the point of this post is that, at many moments in our lives, taking the time to reflect on who we are and what we hope to achieve can play a large role in our internal contentment and happiness. In a world where there are 360 degrees of choices, before one sets off, knowing why you are heading in that direction can improve the odds that your actions will help you achieve your goals!

And now back to your regularly scheduled programming.

LOL .... I could say I always eat at the Y, but I am afraid of all the misguided interpretations! LOL I think perhaps it may be better to go off road and rough it!

I find it more fulfilling, when I reflect on my life, to know that cognitive choices had more of an impact than random acts. Because we all know that "random" sometimes can dramatically impact the course of our lives.

I like to believe that I am at least writing SOME of the lines in the script of my life story! Because there is only one "take" and there are no re-writes!!!! LOL

When I die I will be planning the next goal.
Of course there is always plan A,B & C for backup.
The old high school football coach said self satisfaction leads to loosing.
It is true. I have always been driven & can't let up.
There is something new up ahead and I shall figure out a way to get there. LOL
Party On!

Taurus, I suspect, when you make the choice, that you have a good idea why you are headed there. And btw, Sometimes serendipity is the choice.

I'll take what's behind "Door No. 3"

Forget the road. Everyone does it that way.
Take off into the wilderness, mysteries are more fun.
If I get lost I will make it into a party & enjoy.
The unknown is fascinating.
Columbus took a chance & I can too. LOL

Well, here I am, what road do I take? Heavens to mergatroid, if I knew I’d make a choice, but as it seems I have no idea. Can’t stay here, because it’s nowhere, well, someone said they took the winding road, I prefer the road less travelled. If I leave here and go somewhere, I guess it’s better than here or at best nowhere again. Too many choices, how did I get into this conversation? Oh, that’s right, here I am again looking for the right road, maybe the yellow brick road...oh, I just don’t know anymore. God forbid I take the wrong road. What a dilemma!! What happens if there is a fork in the road? See, life is just a huge mix of choices. Like at Dennys you have 103 choices of dressing for your one small salad. Gadzooks, I guess I better get back on the road before the road less travelled disappears forever!

And sometimes, you close your eyes and click your heels three times.... and say, there's no place like home!

I do believe that dinner is always served at the Y.
And although I am not sure about the 103 flavors, the choices are quite delightful. And the dining experience should always be quite exquisite, leaving the diners and the servers in a most satisfied state.

And please, travelers, dining is intended to be a leisurely absorbing experience. Savor every morsel!
