That last memory of having been with them . Why it was just last Monday we were talking on the phone together. Yes death while predictable is seldom thought of by those younger generations behind us.

I do not attend visitations or funerals. Be a prism, spreading God's light and love, not a mirror reflecting the world's hatred.

When the time came that I needed one, I knew which one I wanted to take care of my husband. My pastor, who came from a big city, asked if he could go with the family to make the final arrangements because he thought along the lines that you stated. I had to smile at the group that assembled that day in the funeral home. It was myself, and my eight children and a few of their spouses, plus my pastor and assistant pastor. When I told Lynn, the funeral director, that I was "Momma Mafia" and this was my gang, we all laughed. As we sat down to discuss business, I told him I wanted to keep it simple and that is exactly what we did, with no pressure from him at all. As for payment, he understood that sometimes, death comes unexpectedly and told me exactly what his immediate costs would be, like the paper notices and the grave opening fees, and said if I could get that part taken care of as quickly as possible, he would appreciate it and then take whatever kind of payments I could make in the future. Be a prism, spreading God's light and love, not a mirror reflecting the world's hatred.

Sorry I should have been clear and used the wording some undertakers.. when running my ambulance business. we also had a coach for decreased removals taking from the hospitals or homes to the parlor back rooms. this at all hours and we had the keys for entry. many times I sadly witnessed financial confusions creating severe hardship for such family members taken advantage off while in a state of shock. we waived any related billings for our services and after a few years. I made out a simple instruction page explaining some of their choices. just a guide to prevent this type of thing from happening. just a few were greedy and money hungry! Most were very professional as most were ethnic in Manchester NH back in those days. ty Mrs. you should have been a Judge!!!
