The big problem here is that were he to win in 2020 because there was no impeachment attempt he can run out the clock...statute of limitations on obstruction. I learned that last night. America has a problem, a HUGE problem with the Electoral College...we haven't seen the end of presidents winning but losing the popular vote. I used to think the GOP would have a better shot of winning if they dumped Trump and ran Pence. I no longer believe Pence is capable of beating ANY democratic candidate, so the GOP is calculating that Trump is their only hope..even a dim one. They would rather lose running Trump than lose running Pence because that would destroy the party for sure. Losing with Trump gives them an automatic ...it's Trump's fault excuse. Then they set out to rebuild the party and they dump McConnell as well. I don't even care if Pence would pardon Trump ...for obstruction...as long as he's out of office as soon as possible. If he hangs around the country will continue to descend into a chaos that will take the remainder of our lives to climb out of...and I don't think anyone grasps the horror of what that is likely to be.

In other words...Trump stays out of prison as long as he's President...and THAT is the awful truth here.
