WATER BABIES......

The first photo shows a small raft with wildflowers on it that I sent out on the tide in memory of my first child who died when she was still a baby......I send one out every year on her birthday.........

The next one shows some of my living babies' babies, now 15 and inspecting a rare specimen that the tide has brought in....something they and their parents have been doing since they were babies........There are always more mysteries in the ocean and sometimes it reveals them to us......Perhaps a rare Nudibranch.......

The pebbles to hunt through when the tide goes out. I found a HUGE agate in the beach of Lake Michigan about 20 years ago. It now props the bedroom door.

It's very beautiful, but I'm not in the Vancouver area....I live in an archipelago between midway up Vancouver Island and the mainland.....

My husband's mother was a collector of beach agates....She had 5 sons and never sat still for more than a couple of minutes at a time, but loved walking the long beaches near their cottage......she had to have a purpose, so she looked for agates and had hundreds of them, though I never found even one.....I said it was because she had already found them all, but she kept finding more.......She taught me how to launch a skiff off the beach into big surf.....It looked so easy when she did it, but the timing had to be perfect.........

Enjoyed the pictures, I like the way the blue sky is reflected in the water. Look like a lovely area to live.

It only takes a drop of ink to make a million people think. There are many stories.

Hugs. The grief from the death of a child is always in the corner of our heart and mind. Joe lost a son a few days old, and he remembers him on his birthday each year. We always took flowers to his grave when we were in that area, and that is one of our regrets of not being able to travel now.
Your area is so beautiful and peaceful looking to me. I believe I would love it there, but it also looks like a person would have much to learn just to live there.

Sparkle I always love the photos you post of Vancouver Island. I haven't been in that neck of the woods for a few years. I saw a friend last week who lives in Courtney and has invited me over to visit her. Perhaps I will take her up in the offer. It is a different kind of beauty compared to where I live. But west coast living is the best.
