No poisonous spiders around here.....many large, beautiful ones.....Have you ever watched a spider spinning her web? It's like magic...a conjurer.....Watching them clean their webs of debris is comedy.........Didn't you read Charlotte's Web?.......

.In many cultures the spider is a goddess.....creator and trickster. The Ashanti people of Ghana call her Anansi and there are many stories of her exploits.......

Sparkle I love your photos of the spider webs. You managed to catch them in the right light. Yeah spider webs are awesome but I don't like getting my face caught in them. They spin their webs everywhere. During the summer I found a number of them on my balcony. They were looking for bugs obviously.

I like the big gorgeous webs like these but the little stringy ones come as a surprise across your face and you can't see them. Plu plu............that is a spitting out noise.

Good spiders eat bad bugs. They deserve beautiful webs.
Yes they do......

The second spider's web shot is particularly atmospheric with traces of fog and dew - I really like it.

Oh Lulu, those are beautiful ! They brought back a few wonderful memories for me too.
When we used to raise a huge garden, we often had to get started early with the work in it, and the heavy dew had not been burned off by the sun yet. The large spider webs looked like these pictures. And then there was a time I was with my oldest son and we were taking a road trip early in the morning. We came to a curve in the road and before us, in the ditch area, was a fairy land of spider webs, covered with frost and glistening in the sunshine.
Thanks for you lovely photos and the great memories they triggered.

I'm glad my photos triggered happy memories for you.....I have always been fascinated by spider's webs......Another reason perhaps, why I named my daughter "Fern"......(like the girl in Charlotte's Web)......
