They are ridiculously, gloriously humongous........

I love hollyhocks...in my neighborhood there is a patch of them. They are such a beautiful color. You have a lovely display of photos of the hollyhock Sparkle.

Thank you..... In 1963 I had a coat that looked like these flowers......A Spring swing-coat in a light gabardine....Remember that style?...just above the knee, fitted in the shoulders and sleeves, a little Chinese collar....and then flared to the hem........It went out of style really quick though.....Maybe a silk dancing dress in a silk crepe that has a weighted hem so it flares when you twirl and then curls around your legs like a Hollyhock bud.......Mellow Jazz....brushes on the drums, a stand up bass, and a velvet saxophone........Billy Holiday singing Summertime........

We have some pink hollyhocks blooming by the wooden walk just outside our bedroom.

I remember them from when I was a child in our backyard in Illinois.

Almost everyone I knew used to have Hollyhocks somewhere .... often around the burn barrel or the garbage cans to hide them. I don't see them as much as I used to.

Be a prism, spreading God's light and love, not a mirror reflecting the world's hatred.

Beautiful colorful flowers. We have hollyhocks in our community garden with different colors. They are so beautiful when they are in blooms!

Sparkle In 1963 I knew a girl who had a dress with flowers exactly like those. LOL
I thought it went well with her natural flaming red hair.
Now my daughter & youngest son have red hair. LOLOL.

Perhaps that girls dress & your coat both originated in Texas.
Her mom (who also had red hair) LOL-----managed a sewing factory here that sold throughout the U.S.
Her mom was one smart talented mother-in-law. She would design & alter shirt, blouse & dress patterns for manufacture & she would personally sew custom fit tailor made clothes for my kids at no cost. LOL
Excepting the jeans!

Great pictures Sparkle. I like bright colors.
Especially RED. LOL
Party On!
