MY SELFIE-DAY CONTRIBUTION This is a photo I took of myself in my new lawn chair......

There were a few problems with my selfie, so I took it to Photoshop and started making improvements.....After about an hour of finicky manipulations and many decisions, this is the best version I could come up with..... I've always had a big problem with smiling on demand.....It's at least partly a cultural thing......Walk down the street or get on a bus in Oslo and no one smiles at you.....It's not a thing like it is on this continent......When we first came to Canada, my father remarked on it.....how everyone is always showing their teeth like a bunch of fools.....but we got used to it, mostly.... I have had men.....men I don't know, tell me to smile.....I have had women tell me to smile, then when I do it's "Oh, you have such a beautiful mile, you should smile more often......I have had supervisors in workplaces tell me to smile more.......It's relentless.......All this hollow teeth flashing. The truth is, I smile when I have a damn good reason to smile, but smiling on demand looks horrible on me.....I have heard my friends tell others not to ask me to smile for photos because the results will spoil their photo.......LOL..... Anyways, smiling for a selfie is the worst....the results are either ludicrous or terrifying....and can't be remedied with Photoshop.

I smile at people, and have many folks tell me that my smile is so attractive (bah!) ...... but don't ask me to smile for a picture! It always looks forced and faked. That chair looks comfortable. But can I give you a hint on taking selfies? You are supposed to be IN the picture!  Be a prism, spreading God's light and love, not a mirror reflecting the world's hatred.
