SHINRIN YOKU

SHINRIN YOKU...The Japanese have this lovely term that means Forest Bathing. I didn't always have a term for it, but it's something I have done all my life since my grandmother wrapped my 3 year-old arms around a tree, put my ear to the tree and told me to listen to the song.......It's a lovely. calming experience to just be in among the trees. Today I heard a bumble bee go by my head and many Robins and Towhees singing, Ravens burbling......comforting rustles and sunbeams cheerfully bouncing around .......

The photos aren't great, but may remind you that Spring is pushing through and life is burgeoning and lovely.

When I saw the title of the blog, I thought SFF was up to its old tricks of losing letters and couldn't even imagine what it was supposed to be. Glad I came in and read it because I loved the feeling of peace it generated.
I've only been outside a couple of times so far, that the weather was cooperative and enjoyed the warmth of the sunshine and the sounds of the birds. Soon, that will be joined by the sounds of the farmers preparing the fields for planting.
Thanks for a refreshing blog.
Happy Forest Bathing to you!

Thank you for the cozy visit Mrs. Joe....hoping you two are managing to stay occupied.....I started a painting today......I was grumbling about not being able to get to town to buy a canvas and some paint.......then, this afternoon. I suddenly remembered a framed plywood panel I had that was made by a local carpenter several years ago for a different project and never used.....It's an odd size......21" by 49"......and I excitedly dug through an old portfolio for a drawing I did 20 years ago.....Eureka!......Then I dug out my tin of white gesso paint and it was a solid slab.......I found some white wall paint in the shed that will do......tomorrow I will get that done and meanwhile make the preliminary full-size drawing to transfer to the panel.......It won't fit on my easel. but I can figure it out..........
