Why do you have this attitude towards discussing Religion, yet you have no such compunction when it comes to politics?.......Certainly "belief" is a large factor in the politics of the USA.....

American culture gives Christianity a pass on anything people can dream up as long as they put they link it to religion.....Like the circus that goes on in the Evangelical mega-churches....good grief.....and the televangelists with their "Prosperity Gospel, with accompanying magic tricks like talking in tongues and writhing on the floor......Trump even has that neurotic, painted phony as his "spiritual advisor" and Americans just shrug.....and Betsy DeVos and Ben Carson who terrible at their jobs but got chosen for their faith. And American culture just waves it on because religion is sacrosanct. Trump could care less about religion, except as another tool to fulfill his agenda .....The American people are being used and they can't even discuss it amongst themselves because they have a cultural lock-down on the subject.

You look so comfortable up there on the fence.......LOL.....If I'm "in your face" it's because you chose it.....Wow, you Americans really can't discuss religion.....it always gets you in a lather.....Dan used to say that he can't breathe when I'm in the room.......he appears to think that others are responsible for his emotions.Trump got 81% of the Evangelical vote .....how do you account for that? Thing is, if America doesn't talk about why, it will happen again....4 more years of Trump coming right up!

When people have self doubt they leave the possibility of religion open. In any moment of weakness or desperation they turn to it . Religion is based on that premise and plays upon it. Very few live their life with true conviction. Thus they are the usual sheeple. Hedging their bets. LOL Party On!

The headline of this blog is "Talking to Yourself", and I ask what Trump has to do with it. I see many good points in ET's comment....... My question is, can you prove that there is NO GOD? No, I can't prove there is no god....one cannot prove a negative.....If you make a proposition, it is up to you to prove it.....You prove God exists. .......In general though, where God is concerned, absence of evidence is evidence of absence....... What can be asserted without evidence can be dismissed without evidence......

I do think, that we all have moments in our life when we feel desperate, and deep inside we ask for help from somewhere........ That does not need any religion with rituals, etc. I just recently went through something concerning my close family and a journey to India with a baby, nothing booked in a clean upscale hotel or environment - a backpack trip. Nobody could put any sense into the minds of the two adult travelers. I fervently sent my thoughts to prevent that trip to happen out to the universe...... A day before the booked flight the little one became ill and had to be taken to ER. The journey had to be cancelled last-minute...... The baby has overcome the worst and is recovering. I believe that we receive signs that there is something more...... we have to see them. Happiness is when what you think, what you say, what you do are in harmony - M. Gandhi

My closest friends growing up were First Nations people and I developed a fascination for their culture......I was fortunate to live in a place where they still retained much of their spiritual attitudes.....I love the way they relate to Nature..We have imaginations....it's what makes us Human......I thoroughly enjoy mine.... It must have been very scary for you to watch your loved ones enter into such a risky situation.....I'm glad they're OK and have learned a lesson.
