TALKING TO YOURSELF Today on Marbella's blog, her tortured analogy says that having a conversation with an imaginary entity is like having a conversation with an actual wise Human.........If you sat on a bench and talked to an invisible person, you would be considered insane......and rightfully so......and no, Marbella, teaching a to bypass his critical thinking is not in the same category as teaching him a game or what foods are healthy. I wonder why this Marbella bot and her enabler feel the need to Evangelize on this site.....surely they can find a more appropriate venue to display their sanctimonious drivel. |

People who do that know it is BS and attempt to convince themselves it isn't I have a step daughter in law who talks to Jesus & he talks to back to her. LOL I have a step daughter ---married recently ----both she and hubby vowed to wed (Jesus first and you second) I'm still confused on how certain things are arranged. It was a huge Mega Church crowd in attendance----very solemn----I didn't know if I should laugh or jump out of my chair & call bull shit! If your are a Christrian you must surely be impressed. All stated thoughts appreciated.

I've got news for you......pushing your religion in other peoples faces the way Marbella does on this site is offensive......She posts a sermon every FFFFing day on this site.....puerile, mass-produced garbage.....Marbella, whoever she is, doesn't interact with anyone on this site.....ever. She never contributes anything except this robotic trash Evangelism that she buys a subscription to that automatically posts on this site. It's been going on for years, but it was easier to ignore when there were more blogs.....now, from 6 to 12 of these sermons appear on the front page on any given day. It's basically just advertising for this automated daily sermon service..... If I was a Christian I would be embarrassed to be represented by such simplistic hogwash. This site has a rule against blogs that are pure advertisements, but Rubella has fixed her blogs so they bypass that rule..... If these Marbella sermons really speak to your belief-system, I'm really sad and embarrassed for you, because they are simplistic garbage.......

"Christian parents have an obligation to train up their children in the ways of God. If we don't teach our children to love the Lord, the devil will teach them to love the world." This kind of ignorance horrifies me.

A perfect example of that which defies the Pinker Principles. We are Evil..God made us Evil..so we can redeem ourselves.

Block Great advice there for other people who complain about a blog when they are not force to read or be there. Question. Then WHY ARE YOU HERE? Pray On!

I wonder if it's more a matter of understanding/interpretation.

When my children asked me if a man could actually walk on water I told them to fill the bath tub and try it. Then they would know. Today they never fall for BS. I would never teach ignorance in place of knowledge. Party On!

I have been thinking for some time about this blog, Sparkle, and I have to admit that I don't quite understand your outrage. These daily religious blogs, may it be a bot or a real person, don't take anybody's space away, and nobody is forced to read them. Don't we have freedom of speech? I skip Marbella like I skip other blogs with political headlines that turn me off. I try to avoid any crowds that try to promote their ideologies, be they politically motivated or by religious beliefs. Why feel offended when all that what is said is not said in your own house? Happiness is when what you think, what you say, what you do are in harmony - M. Gandhi

Vagueness wanders........

Could you be less vague? More explicit? This kind of ignorance horrifies me. I'll try to be less vague. I think too many folks, both believers and non-believers, myself included, are/can be ignorant when it comes to matters relating to God. I think the statement's simplicity (Christian parents) is misleading and in this instance, reveals our own ignorance when we recoil in horror and/or mock.

Teach kids to drink wine and pretend it is blood. Eat a bread wafer and pretend it is flesh. Give me a break. That is the height of stupidity coming from an adult. Don't pray for me call a head shrink you are nuts. Yes Christians do that. And remember if you do that I will never be as crazy as you are. LOL If I didn't see adults doing it I would think it was a joke. Pray On!

I try to avoid any crowds that try to promote their ideologies, be they politically motivated or by religious beliefs. Why feel offended when all that what is said is not said in your own house? I have, over the years, posted humour that makes fun of some of the ludicrous iconography around Jesus......Blonde and blue-eyed, dressed in many yards of bleached white, perfectly pressed and arranged fine cotton sheeting...........They flip out.....they can't see that the image is ridiculous.....apparently, in Christian world, the quality of the iconography is irrelevant......Anything that could conceivably represent their Lord and Saviour is Holy and I am a blasphemer.....they apparently haven't got the message that Atheists aren't obligated to follow the tenets of their religion. As I've said many times before over the years on this site, I live in a different culture than these folks who think that everyone in the world should revere their Gods... If Marbella and Dan and Mrs. Joe and Bigblock and Rich etc. can spout about their version of reality, then so can I....

I think the statement's simplicity (Christian parents) is misleading and in this instance, reveals our own ignorance when we recoil in horror and/or mock. Firstly, bringing up or "training" children to believe that any religious belief is the only thing that is "right" in the world and all else is the devil's work, is a fallacy. Children are going to grow up and discover the world and human life for themselves... whatever they are taught. They will make their own discoveries and decisions based on reality as they see it. Nothing can stop that. Secondly, our true responsibility is bringing up our children to understand and know the difference between "right" and "wrong". And how to deal with the nuances in between. That is very different from teaching them that freedom only exists if one believes in the tenets of a religion...that they go to heaven if they believe in a god. I don't believe I'm being ignorant for having these thoughts.

The belief in god? when i was a child i believed in God.. and continued to do so.. Until my own hypocrisy hit me in the face. I knew I didn't really believe, because if I did the way i operated my life would be a lot different. I see that in others who claim to believe in God.. I reject their hypocrisy, justifications, self serving, biased, prejudice, condemnation, and most important the NEED to control. I have no doubt there are people who actually believe in God.. But the have no need to profess it..they are too busy living it. I simply can not condone the truth that I see...of the politics in religion and the religion of politics, and between the two of them there is not enough space to fit my God. How it possible for one to say they believe in God. When every day the deny him How is it possible for one NOT to Deny god, in their support for Trump. Don't believe I am saying.. that those who don't support Trump believe in God. I am NOT. Trump is not the only reason, there are many.. he's just the MOST hypocritical I can think of.

It may seem contradictory for someone who identifies as an Atheist in this venue, but I have a lot of affection for the Jesus of my childhood.....born in a manger, attended by his loving parents, the animals, the gentle young carpenter who welcomes the children and wanders the land teaching people to love one another......Gentle Jesus meek and mild, feeding the hungry, healing the sick, uplifting the downtrodden, giving hope to the hopeless.......overturning the tables of the money-lenders, befriending the outcasts. And here are these self-righteous followers and defenders of Trump.....a man who is the antithesis of the Christ.......And yet they pretend outrage when someone disses their religion......Everyone who supports Trump and calls themselves a Christian is a raging hypocrite
