Are those Shaggy manes and are they edible? They are popping up all over down here. I do know better than to kick them!

What a lovely walking track - tranquil surrounds with the added bonus of fresh sea air. Beautiful shots. The housing development on the other side of the water is the mainland?

Once again, I envy your ability to get out and walk in beautiful scenery. If I could walk a good distance, my terrain would be a lonely country road through fields of corn or soybeans. No trees, no water except perhaps a small stream about half mile away, but it would be dry if we had no rain for awhile.

Yes they are . They are edible, but some people have an allergic reaction if mixed with alcohol , even many hours before or after.....apparently a pasta made from these allowed to age and liquefy into the black "ink" is good......I haven't eaten them for years.....

Not the mainland, but a much larger island.......everyone wants an ocean view ....they can see all the way to the mainland mountains on a clear day.......

LOVELY AREA. I HAVE NOT BEEN IN THE MOUNTAINS FOR AWHILE, THE TREES SHOULD BE GETTING PRETTY NOW BUT THE WEATHER IS STILL PRETTY WARM AND THE SEA AND BEACHES ARE JUST FINE.

Yes, it is. I had come to that conclusion a while back, after returning from one of our trips through the beautiful mountains to the awesome ocean. When we got home, I told myself that our area had its own beauty too and began to look at it with different eyes.
I had seen the beauty when I was younger, and before I had a taste of the rest of the country, and didn't like myself for being so discontent with what I had. I used to enjoy just sitting on the patio and watching and listening to the world around me and I had started to compare that with the new beauty I was seeing. My world came up lacking ,,,, in my eyes. I often wondered if people at the ocean and people in the mountains became "blah" about the beauty surrounding them.
I adjusted my attitude, started seeing the beauty of nature where ever I found it.
