MRS. GROUSE AND THE BIG BANG......

This morning while I was getting ready for my shower, I heard a huge, ringing thud and went to investigate......I went out on the deck and stood there a while looking around and saw the tiny, fluffy feathers stuck to the big plate-glass window above the table......I looked on the ground below the window.....then I heard a sound at my feet and there, sitting on the deck was a large, bewildered Mama Grouse

She didn't move when I stepped closer, but she was alive. The large holly tree near my house is laden with ripe red berries and many birds are feeding and the cats are celebrating. Mrs. Grouse was very vulnerable in her dazed state, so I got a cup of coffee and sat down in the deck chair closest to Mrs. Grouse and we had a lovely chat while she recovered.

We reminisced about the time one of her babies had fallen in the old well in the orchard and I fished it out with a rake........She thanked me profusely as she shooed the back into the Salal bushes.......

She reminded me of that Spring when we both had brand-new babies and I inadvertently strung my diaper-drying line above her house full of chicks......The brouhaha she made......squawking and flapping.....scared my baby and she started screaming, which made Mrs Grouse and I both laugh.......oh those lovely babies.

We remembered all the times we chatted over the backyard fence and apologized for the misunderstandings.......and then Mrs. Grouse hopped straight up, flapped her wings and whirred off into the Holly tree.

What a lovely and interesting morning you had. It's good that Mrs. Grouse was only stunned and dazed and had nothing broken.

Be a prism, spreading God's light and love, not a mirror reflecting the world's hatred.

There's a lot of down-sides to getting old, but i'm really enjoying my memory......Where once my memories were pale and fleeting, now it's almost like being there......It's probably because I was so busy and occupied living my life that I didn't pay so much attention to memories, but now.....I hear a song and suddenly I'm in my lover's arms, slow dancing, my eyes closed, and I can feel and smell everything.........Is it the same for you?

THAT REMINDS ME OF THE SEVERAL GENERATIONS OF LOVE BIRDS I HAVE IN THE TREE NEXT DOOR. THEY COME TO SIT ON THE BALCONY RAILING AND CHATTER AWAY. I JUST WISH THEY WOULD STOP EATING MY PLANTS!
