FACEBOOK STALKER

Several days ago I had a message on FB Messenger from a man who said he was going to be on this island for a couple of days, suggesting we get together and gave his phone#. Now, the last time I laid eyes on this guy was in 1969, but I had accepted him as a "friend" several years ago because his sister was my brother's wife and we had a nephew in common.

Now, Messenger tells you when a message has been read, so he knew I had chosen not to respond. He grew up in the same town as I did, but is at least 5 years younger. I thought it was odd that he would just send me this message to meet after 50 years.....Then my told me that he phoned her on her home phone, introduced himself and proceeded to talk to her in a very friendly manner, asking her how I was doing and where I lived and asked for my phone #.....and she gave it to him......(I have instructed her never to do that again). I have the same surname as his sister and I'm in the book, but my has a different surname......why does he phone her instead of me?

He told my that his sister gave him the number......but she also knows my number......so does our nephew.......He also told her that he had been on the island 5 years ago and gone to my house and knocked on my door, but I wasn't home. Then I remembered several people had told me 5 years ago that a man who said he was family was asking around about where I lived.

So he phoned me today, wanting to come over or meet somewhere and I blew him off..... He didn't seem to have any clue how creepy he was..After i hung up, I was in tears.......Geezz......what is wrong with people that they can't imagine what effect their creepy-ass stalker-like behaviour might have on a woman.......Geez!!!!

definitely Creepy seems like some infatuations never die. Might be time for the witness protection program. Or invite him over and give him a new pair of (cement) shoes and a one way boat ride.

Tell your neighbors to keep an eye out
This would frighten the hell outta me
And lastly id call him back and tell him in no
Uncertain terms you are not interested and if
He comes around you have a gun and you know
How to use it
Time for him to know you mean business
No means No

Lulu, I have given this much thought ever since I read it early this morning. A situation like this is annoying at the least and could be worrisome or dangerous. I would tend to think that is not the case in this incident, but the possibility, although slight, is present.
I'm sure many will give you good advice, and being the intelligent and independent women that I perceive you to be, I'm sure you have already taken precautionary and proactive actions to deter this stalker.
You probably won't want to hear this, but I'm telling you anyway that I have been praying for you and this situation since I read about it. I've asked God to send angels of protection to surround you and your home and to discourage your stalker.
My exercising my rights as a believer in prayer does nothing to violate your rights as a nonbeliever, but I wanted you to know that I cared about your situation.

Be a prism, spreading God's light and love, not a mirror reflecting the world's hatred.

    Quoting  :

I don't think he's a psychopath......I posted this as an example of how a man's thoughtlessness and ignorance can look like dangerous stalking behaviour to someone who doesn't know him........a cautionary tale. The man in question is on the outskirts of my extended family....so-to-speak...He is "friends" with several of the same family members as I am......he is either extremely naive, or lacks social skills.Messenger automatically tells you when your message is read, so he knew that I got his message and chose not to respond.

How dysfunctional do you have to be to continue to attempt to make contact with a person you barely know after they reject you?......It's crazy or stupid or both not to realize that would be perceived as stalking.....not cool, but I'm not afraid that he will harm me.
