THE SUNFLOWER SAGA CONTINUES

The Sunflower heads are now heavy with developing seed.....The arrangement of the seed can now be seen clearly......I always loved that part......as if they were arranged by Fibonacci himself.....spiral after golden spiral.....

Hate to burst your bubble, but "Mother Nature" is a figure of speech, not an actual entity and can be defined in many different ways. Us Humans have put our hand to most things on this Earth.....we have been breeding plants and animals for thousands of years, but "Mother Nature" still does her thing......Or have you never seen a domesticated animal give birth? ]

I love the sunflower. One year, when e fed the birds constantly with sunflower seeds being one, the whole garden was covered with them and it sure was a great display.

Lovely to hear from you........These sunflowers are also volunteers. They were seeds that ended up in last year's compost.....Visiting one of my sisters who lives in the Okanagen valley, I drove past abandoned home-steads.....collapsing log cabins surrounded by sunflowers......
