Great photos, Sparkleflit!!

Kind of unusual to be having snow at this time of the year, I think. We had snow the other day in the southern Okanagan, too.

Snow can be so beautiful, as your pictures illustrate. Right after our last snowfall, when I opened the garage door, I found the tracks of a rabbit passing by. I was glad to not see any coyote tracks with them.

It is unusual......We had Snowdrops and Crocus before the snow and even a few brave Salmonberry flowers..........At least we know it won't last long this time of year.......LOL...I had several pots of primroses that my daughter brought me before it snowed......they are very unhappy about this weather......

But Mrs. Joe, the Coyote has to eat too.....poor hungry Coyote..............What do wild rabbits eat there in the Winter?..

When there is snow, they burrow under it and eat stems and dried leaves, and sometimes the bark on young trees. Beside our land, there is a small grass hay field that is a good feeding ground for them, so we see a lot of rabbit tracks in the winter. It also has a farmer's grain bin, so there is usually spilled grain in that area at the beginning of winter.

Luckily the snow in West Virginia comes and goes. It doesn't stay on the ground for the entire winter. I do like being able to see the structure of the mountains without tree leaves obstructing them. The snow is good if it stays up there too.
This is the first snow we've had this Winter....and it will be gone in a couple of days.......We can get to the ski hill in a short ferry ride and an hour of driving though, so that's really fun.
